Other Fuel System Tank Assembly problems of the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country

Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated the fuel tank register empty while it was full. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle stuttered and stalled while driving about 35 mph. The oil and gas light s illuminated. The failure recurred. The contact called the state line Chrysler Dodge dealer, located at 1001 w 104th st, kansas city, mo 64114, and was told to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was not provided. Fe.

Electronic sliding lateral door does not close nor lock; opens and slides with travel gas tank not taking fuel causing back flow when trying to use fuel nozzle at station.

Every time I go to put gas in my van it acts like it is full, it keeps stopping. This is getting worse every time, to the point I am ready to trash it because no one in their right mind would want to deal with this especially in winter as I am now. I can no longer tell if I have a full tank or not. I have seen other complaints on this same issue with the same year. This problem needs to be fixed. . Every time I put gas into my van (Chrysler Town & Country) my stalls. I never over fill the tank so what do I do about it? it happens in the city and on the hwy.

The vehicle stalls after refueling the fuel tank. The vehicle was inmotion on a city street. Started fine but after getting about a quarter mile down the road began to run erratically and then stalled while rolling to a stop.

After refueling gas tank (to the point of automatic shutoff) restarted vehicle and proceeded to leave station. The van stalled as pulling out of station onto city street, which almost caused accident from approaching vehicle, and steering affected as well. Previously, have experienced the van almost stalling, but then catching in after a few sputters, which in itself was scary. Folks there stating they have been told they have to replace entire fuel tank to correct the problem. It is hard to believe the manufacturer does not know about this problem with so many complaints online! as minivan choice of vehicle for folks with families of small children, this seems like a dire problem in need of investigation not only for the year 2007, but from 2003 on.

After I fill up my van then starting after about 30 seconds to a minute the engine would run rough and if you did not give it the gas it would stop. I mentioned this to my dealer but they did not know or hear of this problem. I have had this problem since I purchased the vehicle in March of 2011 with approximately 32000 miles. My dealer said since there was no recall on this that they could not do anything about this unless I paid to have it fixed. In the allpar article it stated that it is the problem with the "stant-built floats in the fuel tank". I am use to this happening so I am ready for it. I keep my foot on the gas in neutral if I am stopped to ensure the engine does not die. If I am driving just need to be aware and keep on the gas and it passes in about 10 seconds. Please help. If I fill the gas tank until the automatic shut off stops the flow of gasoline, after leaving the gas station, the first stop I make the car will want to stall. I have to put the car in neutral and keep it revved or feather the gas pedal in drive. On some occasions if it does not stall and I am on the highway it will feel like it wants to stall and I have to be careful and feather the gas pedal. As long as I don't fill the tank to the point off the pump automatically shutting off I have no problem. I feel this is a dangerous problem that needs rectified. I have owned 3 Dodge caravans and another Chrysler town and country and never had the problem, all were prior 2007 models.

After fueling, the 2007 t & c van with 3. 3 l v-6 starts to stall, sputter and surge. This has become progressively more frequent with each tank fill. After 30 seconds from the onset, the engine normally returns to normal idle and runs smoothly. The last incident occurred last evening (3/9/13) and the engine surged by up to 800 rpms just after the van was put into gear and we were pulling away from the gas pump and we had a bit of control loss with pedestrians in the way. No one hurt thankfully.

Vehicle will stall and usually completely cuts off after gas tank has been filled. This happens almost every time. After this happens it is hard to re-start and has caused the vehicle to be stranded in the road.
