Two problems related to transmission gear slipping have been reported for the 2007 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 2007 Chrysler Town & Country is having a transmission failure problem. Without warning my vehicle's transmission will slip then the check engine light will come on and the vehicle will no longer shift into it's third range. Even after I shut off my vehicle and restart it the check engine light will remain on and the computer codes all set hard. Once taken to a transmission shop everything can be reset with the mechanic resetting the computer codes. At this point the check engine light goes off and the transmission shifts properly. I have been advised by a Chrysler dealership that my vehicle is not covered under their powertrain warranty and they have not had any other reported events such as mine. My vehicle only has 35,000 miles on it and I don't feel that this is a usual failure. Something has to be wrong with the way the transmission was built.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 10 mph the transmission began to slip gears. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on two separate occasions for identical failures. The computer chip and transmission were replaced on two separate occasions. None of the repairs have remedied the failure. The failure mileage was 34,000. The current mileage was 34,970.
