Radio/tape Cd Player problems of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

You hear a ding, then all warning lights come on, wipers come on, radio quits, locks quits working, windows don''t work, nothing electrical works! it all started after ignition switch recall was done, we have had it the shop multiple times, and they cannot figure it out, we changed out the tipm module, and it did not work either, they are not sure what the problem is, we have put lots of money in it, and still have the same problem. . . There is 5 other people her in wyandotte that is having the same problems. . . I have a handicap daughter that depends on my van, it does this all the time, and its dangerous for her. . . Please help us figure this out,,I love our van, but scared of it too. . We have had it in overland park Jeep. . . Thanks for your time, and I hope you can help us figure out whats going on. . . While driving with the children to go home we were traveling at 25 mph and all of the sudden the horn was blaring then the windshields (front and back) start going and next windshield wiper fluid is pouring out non stop. I'm checking the controls and they are all on off. I pull over and turn the car off and take the keys out and the van still continues to have a fit. Time passes and it stops. We sit on the side with keys out of the car for about a half hour and the van continues to random spurts. I notice the lock on the open door is still in lock position, I press the key control for unlock and wiper fluid comes out. I wait longer and call the dealership. After 20 more minutes I start car. I turn off radio and drive home (5 min drive).

While driving down a main road, the car suddenly shut down. Nothing worked. I could not break or steer as power steering went. The only thing that stayed on was the radio. Car slowly coasted and eventually stopped. My 2 young children were in the car, I have already told dealer about this and they said they could find nothing wrong but that it sounds like a key roll back issue. They told me if it happens while driving again I should turn key as it may have moved from on position to acc position due to a bump in the road. Turning the key did nothing. After the car stopped I attempted to restart car and everything worked except the malfunction indicator light stayed on. This is a serious issue and Chrysler service department did not seem to care when I called! then I begin researching and find that they recalled 2009 vehicles of the same make for the same problem!.

2008 Chrysler town and country limited minivan looses power shortly after take off. This generally occurs within 30 seconds of take off at <5 mph but has occurred at up to 15 mph once or twice. Warming up engine does not always seem to eliminate problem. Drive vehicle every day but power loss occurs randomly - meaning not set days such as every other day or once a week. Could occur more or less. Traction control light comes on. Almost complete loss of steering and breaking ability. Tachometer goes to 0. Can't rev engine but heater and radio remain on. Once car is turned off and key removed, then turned back on, problem goes away. Car also feels like it's running out of gas or is going to stall after take off at different times during the day. Often when I leave work for lunch or leave to return home. Car has yet to shut off completely in this situation. Occurs mostly between 20-40 mph but not exclusively. Remains between 1-5 minutes and then works normally again. Took it for inspection the week of March 17. Couldn't duplicate problem. Computer lights not on though abs sensor was found through diagnosis. Sensor was cleared. Drove again this week and car stalled yesterday, with "running out of gas" issue around noon and around 4:30 p. M. Relayed information back to mechanic. Currently keeping a running log before taking it back to mechanic for further diagnosis.

I purchased my 2008 t & c 4 months ago and it has 14,000 and it now has only 17,000 miles. I took it to the dealer today because it was making noises that sounded like there was something wrong with the brakes and also for the dvd player, and the outlet that wasn't working the back. They told me the brake pads and rotors would have to be replaced. I would have to fork out $400. This is obviously an ongoing problem that Chrysler needs to own up to and fix. They already got me for the cost of the van and now it seems every 5-10,000 they will be getting me for $400 because I am going to have to replace the brakes and rotors.

Ren multimedia system (controls radio/ cd / dvd / satellite ect is defective & Chrysler does not have any remedy. I have called many dealers & they all have customers waiting for the solution. I have been waiting almost two months & they are still selling these vehicles to the general public.
