While recall being done they caused malfunction and have not fixed problem recall not completed and they have reported it was completed.
2008 Chrysler town and country. Consumer writes in regards to parts being unavailable to perform safety recalls.
R03 recall was performed on my van. I do not remember the date. And recently the win stopped working correctly . . . Help. Will not start car. Remote start works but win is not working.
My van stop when I put break while stop any signal, sensor shows that passenger seat is unbelted, ignition key and that system giving me hard time to turn on/off, and also doesn’t work properly. D.
The a/c lines that go to the rear are defective. It wouldn't be such a big problem but, it causes all the a/c components to not work/fail. We had our children in the rear and had no a/c in the worst traffic backup for hrs. It gets entirely too hot back there even with the windows open. Our mechanic looked up parts needed for this repair and informed us that the parts were on national back order. So he told us that it is indeed a common problem and it is definitely a major safety concern. !! there were no warning's, messages, or symptoms before this failure occurred.
My van has a failing tipm and apparently this is a common thing with these vans. It causes the horn to sound, wipers to start even when the vehicle is parked with no one in it and the engine off. It also causes the vehicle to shut off the fuel pump causing the vehicle to shut off while driving. Chrysler is well aware of this and refuses to issue a recall, even though this is something that happens to many of their 2008 vehicles.
I have a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan that is in mint condition. I brought my van to a dealership for a repair. There was also a recall for the driver side airbag. The issue is 14 people have been injured by the plastic emblem that has become loose and can become a projectile in the event of airbag deployment. The tech said the recall has them remove the emblem on the steering wheel and they don't replace it with anything. Most people decline it because they don't like the way it looks. I told him I did not want this recall performed on my car until Chrysler has a better fix. Unfortunately, the tech forgot to take the work order for the recall off in the computer and they removed the emblem anyway. Also scratched the leather on the steering wheel when they were prying the emblem off. You can imagine my horror when I picked my car up and found that a decorative trim piece was ripped off. No replacement of any kind, just an open gape with holes where the emblem used to be on the steering wheel. Very noticeable!! this is unacceptable and I want to put it out there that Chrysler lied in their press release on July 14, 2020. This is what they said. . . Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's air bag cover with a redesigned cover, free of charge. . At this time there is no fix! there is no redesigned cover! don"t have a recall if you don't have a fix for damage to your customers car! called Chrysler and they still have no fix for this. What! way to stick it to your customers! they don't have any more lawsuits but leave the car owner with damage to their car. What if I wanted to sell my car? this devalues it! thanks Chrysler!! I want to know if the ceo, mr. Manley, of Chrysler would appreciate me going in his car and removing a decorative piece of trim or emblem with no regard for how it makes the car look? you know it would not be ok!.
Car dashboard lights won't come on but the milage dose car won't start and it has two recall that was fixed I rent the car from carmart and they said I will need a new key fobik and it's gonna coast me 250 I only received one super glued key fobik I thought the battery was dead are something tried to take it apart and add new one only to see it was super glued shut and broke on the inside I had just done a oil was at autozone when it happened had to have it towed home.
When driving in a parking lot of a grocery store, my van's cluster board started going haywire, illuminating all warning lights, turning wiper blades on without them being on, opening windows. Turned van off and waited a few minutes and everything was back to normal. Next day it did it again when driving down the road at 55 mph. Took it to the mechanic and it did it for him. He believes it has to do with the wiring in sliding door, which does have a recall but not for my particular van. If my 2008 town and country could also catch fire at the wiring harness, it needs to be included in the recall. Either way, it is extremely unsafe to be driving at 55 mph and have everything start to go haywire in your car. I'm afraid to drive it. This problem absolutely needs to be looked into and at the least, give the consumers a reason for it and a repair solution that doesn't cost them thousands of dollars to try and troubleshoot.
The vehicle was running in the highway. Check engine light goes on an the all panel lights began to flash make like a whisle noise and shut off. After a while it starts again but in about 2,000 meters do the same four times. We need to call a truck crane. I have read a lot of person with this issue, spent a lot of money replacing various pieces and remain with the same problem.
Takata recall windshield wiper come on and want go off turn single stop working lights wont briten when I turn key it just keep turning on it own air work when it want to brakes changed and still make nose and axle make a clucking sound this is going while I am driveing on city street and main high way.
2008 Chrysler town and country sutting off instantly, numerious times at 20 to 30 mpr while driving on city streets, 40 to 50 mph on service streets, at speed, starting to slow, and or attempting a left or right turn. This is an intermittent problem. Dealer has had van 3 weeks, said they drove twice to simulate and could not repeate. Extreamly dangeriou s, almost rear-ended more than once.
While driving my car it stalls and shuts off. It was supposibly recalled and replaced in 2015.
My battery light, abs, traction lights come on and I lose my a/c when it feels like 110 out.
My vehicle is shutting off while I am driving. Normally it is when I am coasting between 20 to 30 mph. The light and everything stay on but the steering and brakes no longer work. It has been happening for 2 years but now more frequently.
While driving van will turn off and have to pull off the side off the rosd and turn the ignition off then restart the van. Possible collision with no power to anything.
For the last five years we have been dealing with a mysterious electrical issue. There are hundreds of complaints online of the same issue. The van will be fine and you get in to start it and when turning the key it will not start. Full charge, full battery. Starter is fine - everything checks out fine. With a jump it will usually start. Sometimes it will start on it's own if you wait a little while. People on boards have stated replacing dozens of things - to then have the same issue a couple days later. We are use to having to jump our vehicle about 1 out of 20 times. We have taken it to multiple mechanics and had multiple things checked and replaced. An example of a board with many others experiencing the same thing can be found here: https://forums. Edmunds. Com/discussion/12634/Chrysler/town-and-country/2008-t-c-ignition-switch-problem/p1 in addition - sometimes you will be driving and everything starts going off (wipers, lights, flashers, horn, entire dash lights up, etc - no resolve). This can happen while stationary or driving.
While I'm driving my vehicle home from work it will stall, taking the ability to steer away. Like it just shuts off right in the middle of driving. It usually happens when I am turning or going around a curve.
I am having issues with my 2008 Chrysler town and country van. I recently had the dealership work on some recalls for this model. At that time, it wasn't showing any problems. Only after the recalls were addressed did the trouble begin. Now, it sporadically will not recognize either key fob. Wait a while and try to crank it and it starts back up. Today, 100 miles from home with 4 small children as passengers, it decided to have a fit at the gas pump and not start. Called road side assistance and waited for them to arrive just in time for van to decide it wanted to crank again. Cranked it up and tried to park it at a friends house close by. Detected what seemed like surges with the fuel pump while trying to get there. Finally got to a stopping point and turned the key off and the van kept running. The wipers went crazy and the horn started blowing all by itself. Is this vehicle possessed by the devil or what? it is not safe to drive and I have no other choice but to tow it back to the dealership. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem but I say this vehicle is unsafe! if there isnt a recall already issued, there certainly needs to be one.
Front blower fan cuts on and off. Had blower fan, head control unit, and blower fan resistor changed yet still doesn't work. Front blower fan should be wired like rear blower fan and not go through tipm.
Rear air conter.
Out of the blue, my passenger rear sliding door on my 2008 minivan stopped responding to my key fob and the overhead button to open or close. There have been times it's been stuck in the locked position making my children either going out the other door and even climbing over to the front seat to get out. It is available for inspection upon request and as I have never taken it in to get looked at, the problem has not been reproduced or confirmed. It has not been inspected by anyone. Prior to this failing, there were no warning lamps or messages given off by the vehicle.
When you shut the vehicle off the keys cannot be removed from the ignition. When this happens you have to start the vehicle up, put it into drive and then put it into park again and shut if off. Sometimes you have to do that a couple of times to be able to remove the keys from the ignition.
I have a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan, I will be driving and car will just shut off, ive had spark plugs changed and took it to dealer complaining about it. The kinda acted like I was crazy til I did some research and found a ton of similar complaints. Sometimes it will stall on me 5 or 6 times a day, its very dangerous power steering and everything else just fails. I have to throw the car in neautral and restart as I am avoiding crashing into anything. I have never had this happen in any other car and do not have any recourse to take it to a bunch of mechanics and wasting money when Chrysler knows about this recurring problem. I read they issued a recall on 2010 t&c minivans and have spoken with quite a few people with similar cars dealing with the same issues.
My vehicle shuts off while driving making it very dangerous. The ignition switch clicks and the van shuts down at the same time consequence: if the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. This is what I found out to be the issue in most cases. There was a recall back on June 2014; they fix that problem in my vehicle on June 2015; now is back again; they say there is no recall on this problem, but it continues resurfacing. This problem happened four ( 4 ) time in the month of November 2016 already during driving time ( vehicle in motion); also some times won't even start right away; back in 2014 it was call: recall campaign id 14v373000 dated June 26, 2014. Could be recall l25 or r03. Not sure which one is the correct, they have told me r03.
I was dring when I notice temperature gage going up I pull over to check and I begging to smell gas so I open the resoirver for cooling fluid in I some) a strong odor of gas I took to mechanic and they stated it is a possible leak in the head gasket.
A/c refrigerant leaking into the cabin vent.
The glass on the van steams up to easily during cooler weather when no heat is turned on or vent. The body of the van collects water in the doors housing the glass in the sliding doors on both passenger and driver's side. No repairs have been made to body and a recent visit to a break shop even replacement breaks the van still makes squeaks at times. A recent bumper accident I shared with a body detailer said the back bumper seems off and needs repair, I have done no repairs on the body and the van is in the original condition from owners that transferred it to me. I also feel the lighting for after leaving the van trunk light stays on anytime a door is not open and have noticed the lights in the front of the van take a while to go off after locking and turning off veichle.
I have received numerous recall notices and none have ever been resolved due to "parts not available" or "parts on back order" this has been going on since the first airbag issue on the passenger side recall. Why won't Chrysler fix my car?.
Vehicle shuts off while in motion on city streets going between 20 - 30 mph. The recall (r03) for this problem has been done and the shut-offs still happen. Unknown fault or problem. Several diagnostics done over the past 4 years, all to no avail. Help us!!!.
Chrysler issued recall r03 involving the wireless ignition node module. This recall was issued approximately 8 months ago. Despite repeated phone calls to many local dealers and the Chrysler hotline, Chrysler has not made the parts available to the dealers so that the safety defect can be fixed. This is an ongoing safety concern which Chrysler has been aware of for years, however this corporation refuses to spend the time and resources to make the appropriate parts available to cure the problem. Per my most recent phone call to Chrysler, the part is still on back order and they are unable to provide any sort of timeline as to when this will become available. What use is a recall, if Chrysler refuses to work in good faith towards fixing the problem? please help is pressuring Chrysler to take the appropriate actions to make the parts available to the dealers can provide the necessary service. Thank you.
Replacing brake pads, rotors and calipers every 3,000 miles. The brake pads no matter what brand or what they are made of go metal to metal by 3500 miles of driving. We have also replaced master cylinder and both hub bearings. Bought the vehicle used 2 years ago and have had nothing but front end problems.
I received a recall notice about the wireless ignition node (win) and problem with the fobik. I have contact local dealers and they do not have the part and it is on back-order and unknown when it will be in. This has been the case for several months and this is a very dangerous situation and leaving us with little options.
Transmission keeps on slipping.
