1 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2022

Right headlight stopped working, tried replacing bulb, but still did not work. One year before bettenhausen Chrysler had replaced bulb in April 2021. July 20, 2022, I took the car in to bettenhausen and they fixed the light, but wanted to charge almost $2,000. I had a mopar 10% off coupon, which brought the cost to nearly $1,700 that I had to pay. Having working headlights is a legal & safety requirement after dawn and during rain, otherwise a driver can be ticketed. Headlights have been on cars for over 100 years, have not had this kind of problem and expense. Chrysler designed the headlight operation so technically complicated and epensive that defies logic. My vehicle only has about 70,000 miles on it. This is a failure of Chrysler, and I should get a full reimbursement. I have been loyal to this brand since 1981, having bought at least 13 new top of the line vehicles, they need to be loyal to me. I have contacted their customer complaint department, but have not heard from them yet. I sent them the dealer work order and a copy of my paid receipt. Headlights not working are a real safety concern, and I had no choice but to get the repair. My case number is 83729232 with Chrysler. Even the dealer service workers thought the cost is rediculous, and I think it outrageous! I need an advocate to get a full reimbursement!.

2 Exterior Lighting problem

For the third time the vehicle has shut off while driving on the highway, losing all power steering causing a safety issue. The automatic lights have also shut off multiple times at night while near and passing other cars. We have almost been struck due to these conditions.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

January 1st in oshkosh wisconsin while parked in driveway I warmed up our 2013 Chrysler Town & Country for 15 minutes and loaded up ready to go and turned on wipers and quickly noticed stuck to glass from ice so turned switch off. Broke loose from glass and retried wipers and poof they do not work. Checked all fuses & relays and tested wiper motor along with multi switch all good. Hooked my ansus fx4000 scanner to learn I have a tipm module problem. Next issue arouse three weeks later now automatic lights went out traveling in a snowstorm in evening & decided to further this issue. I will inform you's Chrysler is using electrical system that has many, many accessory and options all work on a ground based energizing system. Another way to put this is most all controls are positive energized at all times and body ground module sends signal to relays that complete ground circuits. Anyone with half a brain will realize this is a disaster waiting to catch fire at any given time or place and repeatedly fail. Why is it innocent working people need to die and go broke for dealerships knowingly ignore disasters. Call tipm rebuilders in California to educate your staff in recalling all scrap Chryslers nightmare electrical system has caused & destroyed good working people's pocket books for $1200 a pop to replace tipm module. Oh and dealers also tell everyone that reprograming is needed in replacing tipm module which in fact is a absolutely appalling lie . I hope to god someone wakes up an does the right thing.

4 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2018

When driving down the road, just straight, or turning, the van will just quit. Instrument panel turns off. It has happened at 40 mph and 20mph. Anywhere, anytime, any speed. We have to put it in n and turn back on before we slow down too much to be rear ended. We have taken this to the dealership where they have no idea. The catalytic something was the only code and was replaced. . . About 1000 repair even though we have a lifetime warranty. This did not work. It quit on me again today while driving. Is there a recall? this is dangerous!!! I put today's date as when it happened because that is the last date it happened. I cannot recall specific dates before, but it has been about 3 months of this.

I just purchased a 2013 Chrysler town and country. The drivers side rear light housing is holding water/condensation. I have researched this as a recall and found it in older vehicles, but do not see it listed for this make and model. I would like to suggest that it be on a recall list as the issue has obviously not been resolved. Thank you and many blessings! kellie reed.

7 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2016

When driving at night the lights just go out, all of them. I can try to stop and then put them on manu. And they come one again. I am always going down a highway of street when this happens. I try to remember to put them on manu. . So far this keeps them from going out. Is there a recall on lights?I am now afraid to use the auto lights.

8 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2015

The vehicle would not start, no lights, no power, unable to unlock/lock with fob. (nothing was left on in vehicle or plugged in). Fully charged battery to 100%, drove next two days with no problems. Bluetooth stopped working and connecting, buttons failed to respond, power seat on driver stopped working, power slide door on passenger stopped working. Battery died again, this time able to get lights, but not start. Chrysler jumped the vehicle, left running to charge. Drove 5 hours straight home and parked, ensured everything was turned off and locked. Next morning, battery dead again, no lights, power but static sound coming out of all speakers in the car. Chrysler towed car. Ran scans /diagnostics, claim to find no problems but cannot identify what caused static to come out or why other electronical equipment failed. Their claim is they used the only authorized battery scanner for Chrysler which triggered no problems with battery or electronics. . Still in shop again. 3 dead batteries in one week.

10 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2014

Shortly after encountering a rain storm, where we needed continous windshield whippers, all interior dash lighting and gauge lights were extinguished and remain so for an extended period of time. Since that time, when ever the whippers are in use for 3-4 minutes the dash lights simply shut down regardless of exterior lighting conditions. Exterior head lights and running lights continue working. This problem seems to happen quicker now that in late may. This problem makes driving at night a challenge as speed gauges and fuel gauges are no longer visible when whippers are in use. Two separate Chrysler dealers simply can not diagnose a problem or a cure.
