1 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2015

While driving at night with the headlight switch in the auto position, the headlights suddenly turned off leaving the road immediately in front dark. Speed of travel at time of the incident was 60 mph. There were cars in front and in the rear. To avoid a potential accident, I quickly turned to headlight switch to the manual on position and the headlights came back on again. Prior to this incident, there were numerous occasions where the headlights would not turn on when the switch was in the auto position. On all of these occasions the switch had to be turned to the manual on position for the headlights to turn on. Maybe unrelated but when the headlights are on, regardless of whether the switch is in the auto or manual on position, the low beam indicator never appears in the dashboard, only the park lights are indicated.

2 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2014

While driving int the dark going approximately 65 mph in the rocky mountains the headlights and all light in the car went out. It was raining and the windshield wipers were going. The lights were on automatic setting. The wiper setting was adjusted on the control and all the lights went out including the headlights and and all of the interior lights. Approximately 5 seconds later after moving the wiper switch around the lights came on. The lights all went out again approximately 1 minute later went the wiper switch was adjusted. We then tuned on the the lights on the light control and the headlights remained on. The problem was when the automatic light setting was on.

3 Headlight Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

Wipersand headlights came on by themselves and cycled about four times and then went off. We were driving down a smooth road, clear day, temperature was 80 degrees. Wiper and headlight switch were set at "auto". A few days later same thing happens. Take it to dealer and they state it's the tipm which is replaced for the first time. A month or so later, we are in a bad rain storm and the wipers (in auto) do not come on. When switched to manual, there is only the slow speed available. To shorten the story the van has been back to the dealer four times for the wiper/headlight problems plus a few other problems. It is again at the dealer for -you guessed it the wipers/headlight issue. The dealer is going to put in the fourth tipm in less than the two years (oct 2013) we've owned it. I've been waiting over a week to get the van back and I'm told there is a nationwide shortage of tipms. Other maladies include the van being totally dead because the main power panel on the left wheel well was corroded. I too am waiting for the qtr window switches. I'm told there are two colors - green and blue. Chrysler has the green switches for lower level models. The high end vans need the blue switch. . If it was not for the stow & go seating feature we were going to by a Honda odyssey. I feel ripped off after spending $39,000 for the vehicle.
