general problems of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

I was driving at 515 am on the highway about 60 mph, when all of a sudden drive aside headrest airbag went off. I am thankful that it was early in the morning and not a lot of people on the road cuz I did swerve but did not hit anyone or anything as it startled me as I was driving. I called Chrysler see case number below and they will do nothing about this. As this car is made you need to replace the whole seat they want me to pay for the diagnostics waiting for a supervisor to call me back. I've been icing my lower neck and back since it happened. My case 93912799.

With normal use, no accident has occurred both front driver and passenger active headrest have deployed due to faulty plastic casing. One side, front passenger occured with occupant pulling on headrest to enter vehicle in the middle row. One , front driver side, occured when a shopping bag gently bumped the headrest while being removed from the middle row behind the seat. They will not "click" back into place because of a broken piece. If this deployed while driving, rather than casual contact (not rough contact!) it would cause injury to the neck or confusion in a driver to no longer be alert.

The active head rest on the driver seat in my 2015 Chrysler town and country. I purchased this vehicle brand new from the dealer in 2015 from the chrylser dealer in springfield, IL. No one was driving the vehicle at the time, we only notice the headrest had activated after entering the vehicle after it was parked in our garage. I have contacted my local dealer (burlington, IA) to determine the repair/replacement required. No other warning lights are shown on the dashboard. Front passenger seat headrest deployed from broken plastic that failed and released the headrest while parked and car is off. Concussion risk while driving no inspection yet by dealer or police/insurance no prior warning.

While driving the headrest exploded into the back of my head. It felt like someone had just punched me in the back of the head. This happened yesterday, and I have not yet had it inspected by anyone.

Driver side active head restraint popped open. The air bag did not deploy but the plastic tabs holding it together broke inside.

My 2015 town and country Chrysler minivan was parked in a hot garage in florida in the early morning, when I observed the front right side passenger's headrest to be opened and appearing to be forced forward. No accident or moving was involved. There was no activity that should have caused the headrest to deploy forward. I believe this is probably a headrest that is used for an anti whiplash device in case of an accident. Without a doubt, this is a safety issue as accidental discharge of this headrest could cause serious injuries. No injuries took place.

Passenger headrest assembly randomly engaged some sort of "airbag" mode. Two springs deployed the headrest forward rapidly.

My vehicle was parked in the driveway stationary, and as I walked to the vehicle to enter the car with my 2 young children and as we approached I heard a load pop noise. I found the ahr headrest had deployed, with no one touching or moving the vehicle. The vehicle has never been in an accident and the headrest has never been reset for any reason. The gentleman on the phone acknowledged that he knew of this happening often in Chrysler t&c vans, however could not help me as my warranty is now up and there is not a recall. I am terrified to drive my van now, knowing that the drivers side headrest ahr may deploy at anytime no warning and cause injuries to me, which could cause me to crash my vehicle while driving endangering my children and family. I have ziptied both the passenger headrest and drivers head rest shut. The drivers headrest is ziptied in case it randomly deploys and the passengers is zip tied as the head rest internal plastic mechanisms are broken.

Passenger front headrest exploded while stationary. We were at a stop light, there was no accident or impact. It cannot be reset and needs to be replaced. I do not feel like we should have to pay out of pocket when this is a common issue and a safety issue.

Driver seat got stuck in up position. Seat will not go down and peddles won't adjust. The air bag in the head rest discharged while sitting at a red light. Not very satisfied. 388rks.

We were in the van that the passenger front headrest just shot out and almost hit my wife in the head. Took to the dealer and found they wanted over 800 for a new headrest. I feel like this is a safety issue that should be addressed.

I was driving down a city street and the driver's side headrest spontaneously deployed forcing my neck and head forward causing whiplash and headaches. I thought something exploded in the back of my van.

My vehicle was struck on the rear passenger door by another vehicle traveling roughly 45-50mph, my vehicle was traveling roughly 25-30mph on a city street. On 6/22/20 we received our rejection for reimbursement from moi a reimbursement specialist at Chrysler. Our case numbers at Chrysler were 75899352 and 76536023 . Two case numbers were assigned because they lost the first one. My first concern is the safety of my passengers and myself. This was not cosmetic but a safety issue that should be the responsibility of Chrysler. Thanking you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Open air bags front driver face and knee plus front passenger air bag open at speed 0000 on hwy stop and go traffic.

Passenger side headrest exploded while driving (on a paved road in florida) for no reason. Could have been extremely bad or fatal if their was a passenger setting in the seat.

The drivers side active head restraint deployed while the vehicle was stationary waiting at a drive through.

While driving on a city street, the front seat active head restraint released causing it to propel forward. Upon inspection, the pin which is latched holding the head restraint closed, was held by a plastic retainer which fatigued & failed.

The driver sustained a headache and neck injury, which did not require medical attention. The vehicle was taken to allen grove Chrysler tridelphia wva. To be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 17,000.

Passenger headrest airbag/whiplash expand safety device. Internal plastic bracket failed and caused the headrest to expand and cannot be reset. The vehicle was in the driveway and not moving when the headrest just loudly expanded, no one was setting in the seat.

The passenger headrest exploded while sitting in my garage and can not be fixed without visiting a dealership which looks to be a $700 - $900 charge.

On July 10, 2018, at approximately 1:43 pm, I pulled into a parking space at the sam's club on youngerman circle in jacksonville, FL and put my 2015 Chrysler Town & Country into park. I went in my pocket to pull out my shopping list and then heard a loud pop and felt something hit the back of my head. I exited my vehicle and looked to see that my headrest had basically exploded apart for no apparent reason. I contacted my local Chrysler Dodge dealership and they advised that this was not under warranty or recall. As it did not affect the drivability of my vehicle and I didn't have the money and didn't think I should have to pay for something that was not my fault, I did not get it replaced.

The driver seat airbag in the headrest shot the headrest forward splitting it in two thereby rendering the airbag useless.

Fall 2017, our car was sitting in our driveway over night. The next morning we notice the passenger head rest had deployed with no cause to deploy. We were told by Chrysler service employee that the head rest are known to deploy with no reason. This week our car was in our garage over night. The next morning we noticed the driver's side head rest deployed with no reason. We told Chrysler customer service about our comcerns about safety and all they said was "your car is outside the 36,000 mile warranty and there is nothing we can do. ".

While riding in the passenger seat of my vehicle the � headrest restraint system� inappropriately out of nowhere deployed while the vehicle was moving but was never in an accident. The headrest forcefully hit me in the neck and back of the head.

Already sent a written complaint kathryn federico previously accident on 05/16/2017 airbag on the floor did serious life threatening injuries to her legs and had to be metevacted by helicopter to shock tramma center in baltimore for many surgeries to her legs which threatened her life at 91 years of age. Stayed in shock tramma center for 11 (+) days and will spend many more days in a rehabilitation center and stands the possible amputation of one leg. This was all caused by the airbag on the floor of vehicle. The car was totaled. All this damage to kathryn federico legs was caused by the floor airbag.

Vehicle struck from behind and pushed into traffic sustaining rear, front and side collisions. Only passenger side curtain airbag inflated, no other airbags inflated. Also both driver and passenger seat backs failed resulting in fatal injuries to driver and serious injuries to passenger. The vehicle was stationary or just started moving when it was struck from behind on highway and pushed into other lanes of traffic.

Air bags went off during a accident and we received cuts on my legs and also my wife's legs.
