While driving my car has turned off due to the recall on the win module over 6 times now. Thank god I was driving at a low speed on a side street each time. I lose all power and the vehicle completely turns off. I do not feel safe in this car. I hope your conscience can withstand possible crashes and people losing their lives because your piece of [xxx] company has had over a year to fix this and has not. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

My wife's 2007 Chrysler town and country van stalls after every fill up. This has happened in heavy traffic and could result in an accident. I thought this might be isolated, but after an internet search, it seems this is a significant widespread issue. My opinion is this is a safety issue and should not happen after only 55,000 miles. Thanks.

My wife was driving our 2009 Chrysler town and county down the road when the vans engine completely turned off as if she shut the ignition down. Thankfully my wife was able to coast into a parking area where after some time she was able to restart the van and proceed on her way. Numerous times I have tried to start the van and the engine would not turn over until the key was taken out and flipped around and then it would start. Two days ago the van would not start at all but all if the key fob functions worked and all of the electrical gauges came on. After the van was towed to the dealership I was contacted and told that a new win module and key fobs would have to be purchased costing approximately 800 dollars.

Just purchased a Chrysler 2005 town and country with 71,834 miles. Every time you fill up with gas the car dies as you exit gas station.
While accelerating to merge onto highway, lost engine power and power steering. This has happened several times after refueling. Nearly caused an accident.

After refueling, my 2005 Chrysler town and country loses power momentarily or dies completely. The problem happens only after refueling and (so far) only once. Usually the problem occurs about a minute or two after leaving the pump, typically as I am about to pull out into traffic. The problem has occurred every time I refill for the last 4 refuelings of the vehicle. This is a very dangerous problem. The vehicle has 48,000 miles on it.
Hankook p215/65r16 96t tire blow out on a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country. Tire was in good condition, no dry rot located on rear left side. Have photos available showing blowout, condition of tire, almost a perfect cut from rim to rim. Caused damage to fuel filler neck and fill port as well as damage to rear driver's side fender and surfical damage from tread of tire.

Upon filling up with gasoline, especially when filling up completely, the engine will cut out several times while driving. It can happen from 1/10 of a mile, up to 5 or 6 miles on the tripometer. The problem started occurring when the vehicle reached about 75,000 miles and is continuing to do it at about 76,400 miles. Makes for a very dangerous and unpredictable driving scenario either in or out of traffic or when making turns (yes, it has stalled several times while in a turn, fortunately, I was prepared). Since Chrysler is aware of it and it is not an inexpensive repair, it should be the responsibility of the company. It certainly will be if I get into an accident because of it.
Fuel filler neck assembly was badly rusted and had to be replaced to prevent fuel leaking and keep air pollution control system operational.
The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler town and country Mini van. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, he noticed that the connector fractured and gasoline fuel was leaking from the vehicle. The dealer was not informed of the failure. The contact did not inform the manufacturer of the failure. The contact stated that the ethanol and fuel was drying out the plastic and causing the failure. The contact made repairs to the vehicle. The VIN was unavailable. The current and failure mileage was approximately 58,000.
Purchased the vehicle used. After 2nd or 3rd fuel fill, the engine light went on. It has stayed on. We had it checked at our local pep boys and we were told the fuel filler neck is bad and that Chrysler is going through them at a rate of 100 per week. I feel a recall should be issued and that consumers should not be forced to pay for a part that is obviously so defective on the vehicle that the rate of replacement is 100 per week.
The accelerator sticks, and excessive force is sometimes needed to accelerate. This occurred the other day and caused the vehicle to jump due to rapid acceleration. This defect could cause accidents due to drivers being unprepared for the sudden jump of the vehicle.

Gas pedal sticks the past few months.
Everytime I fill my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country with gas. As soon you leave start to move car shuts off. Then you have to put car in park restart hold gas pedal down until some gas is used up. After about five min. The car is fine & never happens again until fill up.
It seems that after filling the van with fuel the engine wants to hesitate or stall completely. It has always restarted but runs rough for a few seconds after restarting. It always seems to happen after it is refueled. Mechanic did a tune up, reprogrammed the computer and still the same problem exists. It's dangerous as there is a significant loss of steering control. It has happened many times. Today my wife and daughter were in it getting ready to turn across two lanes of traffic and it stalled as they were making the turn.
I have a 2004 Chrysler town and country. It stalls after every fill up. Sometimes without warning while driving. What the !@#$%?.
I have a 2003 Chrysler town and country limited with approximately 44,000 miles. On three occasions, when pressing the accelerator to the floor to pull out or pass, the engine accelerated more than anticipated and for a longer time. When the accelerator was released, the engine remained at high speed for an instant longer than normal then would not slow below a fast idle until the car was shut down and restarted. When taken to the dealer, the dealer, scully motors of windsor, CT, was able to replicate the problem, possibly even worse, and investigated. They have reported to me that the plate inside the throttle body was disintegrating and causing the throttle to hang open and told me the car was unsafe to drive. They told me there was no service bulletin on the problem, and when I called Chrysler customer service they also told me they had no other record of a similar problem. However, Chrysler is out of stock on replacement throttle bodies and reportedly many sites within Chrysler have the part on back order. This would indicate to a layman that the problem might be more widespread. Since the service personnel considered it such a threat to my safety that I should not drive the car, and since this does not seem to be a routine type of breakdown on a relatively new car, I believe it should be considered for review as a safety defect. I have requested the dealer to save the replaced parts for me.

The first time I come to a stop after filling the van with fuel the engine will die. It has always restarted but runs rough for a few seconds after restarting. It is related to the first stop after refueling whether it is a block away from the station or several miles before I stop. It's dangerous as there is a significant loss of steering control. It has happened many times.

The light stopped illuminating, the continued to drive and the started again and the gage became erratic. The consumer took the vehicle into the repair shop and was told that the vehicle had bad fuel.
The vehicle leaked fuel from underneath the vehicle. .

The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler town and country. The contact was driving 20 mph when the heat was activated and the smell of fuel entered the vehicle. The contact also stated that the keys would sporadically become stuck in the ignition. The vehicle was towed to a private mechanic. Where the mechanic confirmed that there was an issue with the ignition switch. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were unknown.
Consumer received recall 00268000/ fuel leakage. Had taken vehicle to dealer, but it didn't include 3. 8l engine. Fuel was leaking from valve cover dow to exhaust manifold. Vehicle leaks when on, but more when shut off. Fuel mileage dropped from 29 to 11 or 12 a gallons.
As the consumers pulled away from a stop sign they were broad sided by another vehicle, according to a witness a fire started under the van immediately resulting in the death of the two occupants. Nlm.
Consumer is concerned with a potential gas leak which may occur if the vehicle is involved in a frontal collision at a low speed, consumers vehicle was manfacturerd prior to the time the manufacturer redesigned and began installing replacement parts to correct the problem, consumer is requesting that the part be replaced or be given a new vehicle entirely that does not have a gas leak problem.
Vehicle leaks and smells like gas, owner notes that this problem occurs mostly when the vehicle has been sitting for long periods. Dealer cannot determine the cause.
