2 Tire problem of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/19/2022

We purchased a set of 4 new tires online with manuf. Warrantee. Had them installed. Exactly a week later the back passenger side blew while driving to pick my daughter from school(on the side not tread of tire. ) called hankook . Ithey asked me to go to tiresplus to have it inspected and replacement done. The tire place put the new tire on and charged me. They stated called hankook and put the case number in but did not agree to send the broken tire in with thier distributor to hankook so that they could do a refund or replacement. I spent hours on the phone back and forth. I needed a car so I paid and left. I still kept calling and hankook stated that they could not refund me. That they needed the tires plus place to return the tire, they would pay them and the tires plus had to pay me. The tires plus stated that they would not do that and that they do not have hankook distributors, even though I was sent to them. These were brand new tires less than a week installed. I am now worried that the other 3 may be defective and I have already spent over my buget on this issue. I spoke to jd at hankook 615-432-0700 who said she would talk to her supervisor. I have not heard back. I will email them a copy of payment proof and photos of the tires. But she stated that if tires pls was not sending the tire, they could not refund me. The company that their representative yocelyn-told me to go to---will not send them the tire ,so I dont get my money back. And im now concerned about the other tires also.

9 Tire problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

I leased a new van on 5/10/12. In the summer of 2013 I was informed by independent tire company that my tires were in very bad shape, and I was going to need new ones. I contacted dealership because tires should not have to be replaced after 18,000 miles. I was told to bring vehicle in and they would check it out. Unfortunately, I work full time and was not able to take car in without a loaner vehicle (which they would not provide). When winter hit, the tire issue became very noticeable, as my vehicle has no traction whatsoever. When I took it in for an oil change I spoke with the service guy about it. He encouraged me to bring it in as soon as my schedule allowed it. In the meantime, I did research on these tires and found many stories of abnormal wear at a fraction of the lifespan of the tire. I contacted the service department and was told they would not warranty the tires because tires are excluded. My neighbor had the same problem with his tires after 17,000 and the dealership told him that they were aware of the tires, but to replace them on so many vehicles would be too expensive.

10 Tire problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler Town & Country equipped with kumho solus kh25 tires, size 235/60/16 (n/a). The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the tpms warning light illuminated, indicating that the air pressure for each of the four tires was too low. The contact stated that the tpms light would illuminate every three days. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis. After diagnosis, they advised him that they were unable to locate a failure but they would add nitrogen to all four tires. A few days after having the nitrogen added to the tires, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was later contacted but the contact was unable to speak with anyone directly. The failure and current mileages were approximately 11,000. The tire failure mileage was unknown.

11 Tire problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 04/30/2012

Michelin hydro edge dot b9odhaex radial xse 215/65 r16 98t sold by sears, installed by sears, like new tire exploded nearly causing an accident. They say it was either of two reasons a nail or tire sensor was loose. There was no nail in tire. I called them on it and took pictures so they are now blaming the sensor. They can't keep their story straight. They installed the tires and they refuse to accept replacement responsibility for the tire and expect me to pay 130. 00 to replace it. They say I must have refused 60. 00 charge for sensor adjustment even though when I took my car to them I had the vehicle aligned and bought top of the line tires. Why would I refuse a 60. 00 charge to adjust sensors if by not doing so could make the tires explode? I have done nothing wrong. These tires were extremely well maintained because I am a bounty hunter and travel across the country capturing fugitives. I check the air on my tires in different weather conditions and in different altitudes. My tires are my legs, I explained this to them. The last thing I need is to be stranded in the az desert with a flat. I have been without my van for two days unable to work because sears, northridge, CA is trying to decide who is responsible for this. It's not me. I would also like to know why sears does not think it's their job to explain to people that not having the sensors adjusted can cause death or injury. Their excuse was only that they couldn't force people to buy the 60. 00 service when I asked them why they don't tell people. I also asked them how many people do they think know that not adjusting the tire sensors can cause them to explode they replied very few. They know it's dangerous but they don't care? something is extremely wrong here. I couldn't find any info on the receipt about the sensor adjustment but I also couldn't find what kind of tire I bought on the receipt either. I had to check on the vehicle.

13 Tire problem of the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/26/2011

My mechanic noticed tire ware defective. He showed me where the side walls had a slice going around the outer tire toward the tread side of the side wall. The two front tires (firestone affinity touring) had a significant slice, as if the tire would split and the two back tires were showing signs of doing the same thing only not as bad yet. He recommended I go bace to place of purchase and inquire about these tires being defective. This was August, 26, 2011. Firestone took off the two front tires and sold me 2 new tires (fr710) , saying the back two (affiinity touring) weren't bad enough to use warranty. However, if I can in the very next week, which was a new month, he could help me with my back two tires. My time was limited and I did not get my car in until 2 months later. Now firestone won't honor replacing the back tires. The slice is still there and my concern is if the tires are defective, am I safe driving around on them? the two front were apparently bad enough to replace.

17 Tire problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 09/21/2010

I bought a used 2005 Chrysler minivan Town & Country and yesterday I was nearly killed by a tire explosion that nearly caused a rear end collision on the la freeway. It was a firestone fr690. No tread wear at all. When I called firestone to see if they had been recalled I was told no. When I got back to the house I googled and found that indeed they have been but only the fr690 215-65-15's not the 16's that I have on my van. The description of what happens to the 15's and the sound it makes when coming apart is identical to what happened to me. I need to report this as I have to replace all four tires now on this van at a cost of almost 600. 00 for new tires when the tires on there are new.

18 Tire problem of the 2004 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 07/25/2010

Purchased 4 tires (toyo observe gp4, 215/65r16 980, dot: cxhb 7em219<) in fall 2003 (from les schwab tire company) to be used on a 2002 Chrysler t&c and later a 2004 Chrysler t&c (the 2002 Chrysler t&c was replaced in April 2004 with a 2004 Chrysler t&c). Note the tires were over 4 years old when purchased new from the dealer. The tires are winter traction tires and were mounted on their own rims and used each year during the period November - March. The tires were stored (mounted) during the period April - October and were not used during that period. One tire was damaged and replaced in Nov 2005 by a tire with dot: cxhb 95k1304). The last time the tires were used was the period November 2008 - March 2009. The tires were used each year for about 5000 miles. The suggested maximum inflation pressure for these tires is 44 psi; the tires were used with an inflation pressure of 40 psi. This report concerns the remaining three dot: cxhb 7em219< tires (photos are available). On July 25, 2010, the following was discovered while the tires were in storage: a. Tire #1 tire had a massive tread separation ( tread split apart) which covered over 1/3 of the circumference, plus additional portions of the tread were starting to separate. B. Tire #2 has very noticeable delamination of the tread, but no tearing. C. Tire #3 has a few detectable indications that tread separation is in very early stages. The tires have not yet been returned to the dealer under their warranty, but will be returned in early fall. There was no accident because the tires were in summer storage when the tread separation was found. If the tires had been mounted on the car when the tread separation occurred there could have been unfortunate consequences. Tire dot: cxhb 95k1304 is not part of this complaint.

24 Tire problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/16/2006

Have owned a 2005 Chrysler t&c for 7 months since may 2006 and the bridgestone turanza el42 tires have experienced abnormal outside edge tire wear as well as severe abnormal vibration when accelerating. Vibration is felt in gas pedal, seat and steering wheel. Had tires rotated/balanced/alignment check and 5 separate service garages look at vibration issue but no solution. Chrysler dealer told me back in July 2006 they did not feel the vibration but every other person that has driven vehicle feels the abnormal vibration and this is a serious safety issue. Tires also have had "indentations/lines" in all tires since I bought the vehicle new with less than 200 miles on it. I now have 8,200 miles on vehicle and am concerned about reports of dozens of other complaints about tire failure/blow out as valid registered complaints. I would like to replace these tires with another brand but not at my expense since it should be a tire manufacturer safety issue. Tire size is 215/65r16 even though the pull down box did not let me select my correct size.

25 Tire problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/28/2006

On January 28,2006 was driving from san antonio to houston TX during a mild rain as the rain became heavier my vehicle started to hydroplaning. I pulled to the outside lane and drove under 50 mph; after driving about 60 miles the rain quit and as the road dried out I was able to proceed on the houston. When I found a tire place opened I stopped to see if they could give me any feed back on why my car would hydroplane. I was told I had good tread but the outside shoulders of the tires were closed and would not let the access water out so that I was driving on water and had no traction on the road. It wasn't even a heavy rain I was driving in if it had of been a sudden hard rain how may cars would have wound up in an accident. My tires are goodyear integrity listed on my vehicle label as bsw all season tires. Checking with one Chrysler dealer about the tires I was informed I needed to get with the dealer I purchased the vehicle from. I spoke with the service department of ancira motor CO and was told I needed to take my tire warranty with me to goodyear which I did and they tested the tires and said there was no defects and even though there were no groves in the should of the tires for the water to leave the center of the tire that it just meant that the water moved from the center more slowly than other tires not that they were not all season tires. The manager gave me the number for goodyear's customer service so I will call them Monday. Tires that are not safe for any driving weather should not be sold as if they are. After leaving goodyear I drove over to ancira and spoke with the service manager larry said that he could tell me how to go on the internet and see how the tires on my car was rated but said they could not give that type of information when you are purchasing a vehicle.
