The end of the tire stem broke off when I was refilling the tires. This prevented the tires from staying filled and I was nervous about driving the vehicle until I could get it to a shop to be repaired. We replaced all the stems, but replacing the sensors was too expensive. If this damage had occurred while driving, a sudden flat tire could have been very dangerous. Never thought to take pictures for a report until after we had already replaced the valves.

One or more low tire pressure sensors on my vehicle is faulty and causing the light on my dash to be illuminated although my tires are not low. I was told by my mechanic that there is a recall for this issue on 2014 town and country vans (which is what I have), although apparently my VIN is not included in the recall. Perhaps it should be? it will be causing the same safety issues for me as other 2014 t+c van owners.

Tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) spontaneously give false alarm with audible warning, flashing yellow tire pressure warning dash light, "check tpm system" display lights then message display shows the tire pressure in the four tires. Then the tire pressure display one at a time deletes display of two digit tire pressures and replaces each tire pressure display with "- -" in place of the actual pressure until all four tire pressures are displayed as "- -" and that false tire pressure display continues for many minutes while the electronic display shows presence of system warning. The loss of tire pressure on each tires can originate with any of the four tires and continues until all four are "- -" readings. The system continues the false warning for many minutes. The system can spontaneous reset the false warning to normal operation during the same travel. The system can continue the false warning after the ignition is turned off, the key fob removed from the ignition switch and the vehicle door opened. The false warning can arise spontaneously under any travel conditions whether stopped or in motion, on rough city streets or smooth expressway, whether traveling straight or turning. The false warning can happen frequently or intermittently weeks or months between events. My complaints started when the vehicle had much less than 100,000 miles. For five years or so the dealer who sold the vehicle to me has been unable to fix the problem even after consulting the Chrysler tech support people despite my numerous complaints and providing video and still photo evidence of the event happening and giving the vehicle to the dealer to fix the problem. The vehicle is still under a no deductible Chrysler bumper to bumper lifetime warranty for which I paid thousands of dollars. I have video and still photos documenting the events.
Vehicle was in motion on a highway. My 2015 town and country was not equipped with a spare tire. We hit a stone that punctured the side wall of a front tire. There was no way the compressor provided with the vehicle would inflate the tire. There needs to be a spare tire in a vehicle. The first half dozen cars I owned had a full size spare. Since then they had econo spares (donuts). The last time I had a flat, I was able to change tires and make it home. The puncture I encountered this time happened 11:00 pm, no one to give assistance. Nearest towing service was 20 miles away. Why was car companies allowed to make a spare tire a $350 option? the fancy pump they provides that comes with a recharge canister cost more than a spare tire. You people require seat belts and air bags. What happened to the safety spare? what would my wife have one if I wasn't there. No spare is more dangerous than no seat belt. Do a safety recall and require the addition of safety spare tires. My wife could have changed the tire. Ron shoemaker.

I don't know much about vehicles. So when I get the obd scanned to make sure things are good to sell my van and it throws back many error codes, I was surprised. I thought the vibration/shaking was minor or just because I only had 4 out 6 engine mounts replaced. I was told the tipm was bad, the transmission, the tire pressure sensors don't work. The eco drive doesn't work. I was told that there was a problem with mine that was recalled but only on half of the vehicles and my VIN wasn't one of them recalled even though it's the same problem. I was told the main fuse panel under the hood needs replaced. From what I was told, all the needed repairs will cost about as much as I paid for the vehicle itself. There have been lights on the dash since a few days after I bought it but the obd didn't want to put out any reading. I named her christine because she seems to have a mind of her own. The rpm's go sky high whenever they feel like it so I often have to pull over, turn it off and wait about 5 minutes. I didn't know where to turn to get help with this before it nickel and dimes me into the even more poor house.

Primewell valera tire dot y9h3 lehx 4217 . Experienced fatal severe sidewall tear (rupture) while driving (freeway) under normal road conditions. Rapid loss of tire pressure 13lbs or less and inability to properly control and drive the vehicle. These particular brand of tires were manufactured by giti corporation in indonesia in 2017. Manufacturer has recalled nearly 400,000 tires of this exact brand and manufacture date due to sidewall rupture (severe tear) from normal use. I talked with giti technical services and they claim this tire dot is not on their recall list. No collisions involved.

A used vehicle, 2014 town country, just got on the road from an inter chnge, speed limit was 70 mph, thus only going 65, put cruise control on, weather and pavment was dry and excellant conditions, passing gear kicked in causing spinning of frt tires and vering off to the right, hitting a utility truck no damage to truck but mine wow !, been having problems with ths vehicle since I bought it, problem dealer would not look at problem vehicle was in motion defective sensors assumption.
While driving my car will seem like it pushes back as if the shifting gear is hold back. Now it started shaking to as I sped up on the interstate to the point were I could not put my foot on the gas. The shaking last about 5 minutes and check engine light is on. It also did not want to start right away.
On Saturday, September 28, 2019 I was driving on u. S. 36 from danville, in to avon, in. Near the intersection of 550 e my front passenger tire flew off my car while I was going 55 m. P. H. Luckily I was in the slow lane and was able to pull off the road and no one was hurt. The reason I am writing is because all 5 studs are missing from the wheel hub. There is no metal remaining and no signs of shearing. I dont know if this is a recall or if not, maybe it should be.
Car will be moving and automatically shift to a different gear and something going on electrically with car. As well it shakes a great deal.

Corroded wiring to tire pressure sensor on a three year old vehicle. Wiring on a three-year-old vehicle should not be corroded already! this causes the sensor to not monitor of the tire pressure at all or incorrectly monitor the tire pressure. This could be a major safety issue if the tire is not inflated correctly.
My tire light came on I check the air pressure and found one of the valve stems broke off. Took it into tire shop and was told Chrysler is having a problem with the stems. Had to replace one. Need new tires and will have to replace the other three.

Vehicle has 4 different sizes of tires. Dark out when I bought vehicle. Also transmission slips in and out of gear. A/c immediately quit working. Oily burning smell after driven. Uses an abundant amount of gas $25-30 a day. My friend noticed the cord coming out of the tire a couple weeks after I got the van because it was making klunking sounds. I took it to goodyear and they were appalled!.
While driving in heavy traffic on expressway the rear axle assembly cracked in half causing uncontrolable unstable/swaying motion which in turn caused driving the vehicle over 15 mph impossible. I beleive that if I were driving at normal hwy speeds the vehicle would have flipped over or caused a major accident.
I bought a vehicle 3 days ago. I complained about the tires sounding like it was wobbling. I told the owner and other employees that it sounded like something was wrong. They said that they did not hear it but had the tires balanced and the rotors turned. I ran my kids to basketball practice and later on that night the tire sounds got worse and we're much louder. I was driving home and just turned into my neighborhood and my front driver side tire flew off. The tire and rim we're traveling through a yard at 30+ mph. I slammed to the ground and stopped the vehicle. It was terrifiyng. The flying tire and rim would have fatally injured someone if this was in the daytime hours.
Valve stem tip came off while removing the cap to put air in tire. Tire keep going flat. Car was parked at the time. Aluminum valve stem corroded just found out I'm not the only one some complaints said there's came off while driving.
When I bought the van I didn't know work was really needed till 06/2018 and I just wanted to no if im qualified for a recall. Thank you.

Tire vales corrods/causes wheel corrosion. Need to replace all tire valves including sensories. Once tire valves corrodes air deflates out of tires immediatly which can cause a danger to on the road and can crash. The corrosion is caused from the valves not being made of rubber. This is expensive to replace and will continue to happen. Especially living in certain wheather conditions. I was filling my tires up with air because sensor came on in car saying pressure was low, the valves in the rear back of vehicle one broke off as soon as I went to put air in and the other the cassing exploded off when air was being put in tire. The front driver side wheel is corroded due to valve corrosion. Thankfully I went to my mechanic immediatly to have it looked at that lived down the road from me. I had my daughter in car with me. This needs to be addressed by Chrysler and recall needs to be issued on these tire vavles.
The wheel / tire air valve stems corrodes and breaks. The tire looses all air pressure and needs repair. If this happens while I am driving, it could be a very serious and life threatening issue! this has happened on 2 of my wheels so far. Note: I live in upstate new york where there is a lot of snow and salt is used on the roads.
The tire pressure sensor light stays on even though all tires are aired to correct pressure.
When I drive over any type of moderate or rough terrain, my car rattles or makes a sound similar to popping popcorn.

While I'm driving my vehicle home from work it will stall, taking the ability to steer away. Like it just shuts off right in the middle of driving. It usually happens when I am turning or going around a curve.
Left rear tire (michelin radial x green energy saver a/s dot m33t 00kx 4014, p 225 65r17), massive blowout failure). No more than 22,000 miles on it. Outside sidewall shredded. Tread area remained intact. Speed about 35 mph, air temp mid 70's. Did not see any nail or screw penetrating tread. Was in stop and go traffic on cross bronx expressway heading to gw bridge, 9:15 am Sunday when blowout occurred. Was able to safely get to roadside and used call box to call for a tow truck. Car was not equipped with a spare tire so had to buy a new one.
Driving on a state route at midnight, the left front tire just blew. We got the car off to the side of the road. Long story short, an "angel" stopped and changed the tire. This is the second time I was driving the van that a tire blew while driving. I was very lucky. Both times I had to buy a new tire and was told it was the sensor valve on the tire had just cracked. I understand that those have been replaced with rubber so that doesn't happen again on the newer cars. Shouldn't this be recalled or something because now I am afraid that the other 2 tires might do the same. I am 79 years old and I cannot afford another car but I also can't go around worrying every time I drive the car. What can be done, if anything. Thanks for listening to me and I hope you can help me.
Low tire pressure alarm initiated at interstate highway speed, roughly 70mph straight line travel. Pulled over and discovered the metal valve stem had cracked just below the plastic cap and had leaked about 6-8psi out of 36. Contact with the tip caused it to crack off completely causing rapid deflation of the drivers side rear tire. Would have caused significant damage possible accident if vehicle had still been moving or if response to tire pressure warning was delayed. High hazard failure. This is the second valve stem failure for this vehicle, but the first was a corrosion leak around the base which was much slower.
One of the continental crosscontact lx tires 225/65 17 purchased in may has been leaking air and the sidewall is splitting because of the tire going flat. This started 1 month after purchasing them. I would like all 4 tires replaced free of charge. If you replace one tire they won't match. There have been numerous complaints from other consumers regarding the same issue. My best method of contact is via email.
Valve stem was cracked, and tire was slowly losing inflation. Thought it was a nail and drove it for a couple of days before my appt. To get it looked at. Was told that this is a major manufacturing problem with this vehicle. Lucky I was not on the road when it totally broke and deflated the tire on the spot. Fixed the one and was told I should replace them all. Very costly repair. Now my warning will not go away and was told this too is a problem. So I will always have the warning even though it is all working okay.
Both Chrysler and the dealership knew that the computer module was defective and went out of their way to keep this information from us leaving our entire family and the general public in danger. Our insurance company had us take the car to a nuetral 3rd party to determine that the wreck I had was caused by the car self acceleration. They confirmed it did and that there were numerous errors that were never addressed or warned of. The tire pressure gauge malfunctioned and blew out the rear passenger tire. Both troncalli (the dealership) & Chrysler refused to give us their findings claiming proprietary information and hung up on us. Then we tried to go through mediation, we were told that because the car was involved in a wreck they could not help us even though they knew that the wreck was caused by the malfunction. So we have an undriveable car that we are paying a note and insurance on sitting in our garage. All while we are having to rent cars because I have been having health issues since sept 2016. The accident occurred while I was making a turn and I hit my neighbor which was parked on the street.
The "service tire" warning light activates and the information center does not have an air pressure reading for the right front tire. The warning activates after driving for some miles and then goes off within two minutes. Dealership says the sensor is working and there are no "codes" to check. This has been going on for a month. Tire pressure is fine.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the wheel stems prematurely failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent tire repair shop where it was diagnosed that the stems needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was to respond back to the contact with their recommendation or solution. The approximate failure mileage was 77,000.
On two separate dates this summer while traveling at speeds between 50 & 60 mph I had tire pressure sensors brake causing the tires to go flat. Fortunately I was able to bring the car to a safe stop but in both cases I had to purchase new tires because the tires which were relatively new could no longer be used. I am most concerned about the safety issue as I was told by the tire dealer that tps failure is quite common. Not only could the tire going flat cause an accident but on one of the failures I was put in a very dangerous position to change the tire.
