This is the 2nd time I have had a tire pressure sensor beak inside tire causing the tire to go flat as well as having a fire on the inside due to the friction. (last time was in 2014). I did keep the tire with burn spots as well as the tire sensor from firestone. I was lucky that I was on an off ramp when this happens one not going 70 mph on the thru way (i75). Last time my dealer (Chrysler Jeep Dodge in brandon FL) did replace a sensor as well as the tire. (October, 2014 / a week after purchasing this car). Many mechanics state they never seen this problem; however, I have experienced this twice.

The tires have had slow leaks for some time. Last night I went to add air and one tire valve stem blew off and I had to get aaa to change the tire. My wife drives this car and we use it for family trips. I am glad it did not come off while I was driving.
While I was driving my spare tire broke loose and fell off lodging itself under my town and country Mini van. This brought my car to a halt with no warning brake lights. Cars had to swarm on the grass to avoid an accident. Luckily I was in a neighborhood. If I had been on the highway a lot of people may have died, it would have caused a pile up of cars. A tire should never be placed where it can fall off and cause a safety problem where lives are in jeopardy. Chrysler would not even put a new bracket to hold my spare tire. They should be so happy that no one was injured and willing to fix a dangerous problem at no charge to me. Right before that I took my car in and said to do a multipoint inspection because I was leaving to go out of town. I had a brake light out and 3 tires that needed air. They gave me the car back and said on paperwork the inspection was done. (if they had checked would they have seen my tire problem?) when I got on the highway my light said tires need air. I called and asked if they put air in my tires and they said yes. I took my car back to my neighbor and air had not put in the tires, had to go to an auto store and buy a light. Someone was in a hurry and signed off that they checked my car and sent me on my way to travel unprepared. Due to the lies of the service center in orlando that I went to and Chrysler unwilling to fix the spare tire problem, I will never buy another Chrysler and will make sure I let people know my experience. They said no one else had a tire fall off so they do not see it as an issue. So now it is on record, so if it happens to someone else and a life is lost, Chrysler does know of the potential problem.

I have had 2 flat tires from the tire pressure sensor, due to cracked and split collars that have deteriorated. The collar was missing and Chrysler denied any problems. I have replaced all 4 sensors and have retained 3 of them. . The collars could not be saved as they deteriorated upon removal. The remaining two were replaced today as the collars were splitting and soon would break off and possible cause an accident. The two flats occurred in my driveway, and I drove to have the last two replaced.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact noticed that there was not a valve cover cap on the front driver side tire. Hardware and nut securing the tire pressure value to the wheel cracked and fell off resulting in a rapid loss of pressure while driving on the highway.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the tpms failed to function properly. One of the tpms failed, corroded, and caused a tire to puncture. The vehicle also independently accelerated while making a turn on a slight curve. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (troncalli Chrysler Jeep Dodge-ram, 818 atlanta hwy, cumming, GA 30040, (678) 244-4100) where it was diagnosed. The vehicle was temporarily repaired without a permanent solution. The contact also stated that the dealer failed to provide a detailed diagnosis. An independent mechanic indicated that the computer module failed to function properly, which caused the vehicle to shake violently and caused a crack in the engine. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided no remedy other than having the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a dealer. The failure mileage was not available.

Tire pressure sensors always read differently and display a warning in the vehicle information system even if all tire pressure are correct and exactly the same.
The vehicle was being driven at a slow speed (less than 20 mph in a 35 mph zone) through a normal water puddle (approximately 10 feet long and 4-6 inches deep) and the spare tire which is stored under the vehicle came off and was dragging under the vehicle. This was a city street with normal curb and gutter for run off. Other cars were slowing down and driving through the puddle without incident. Repair costs are estimated at $400+. This was reported to Chrysler as well.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle suddenly started shaking with out warning. The contact pulled over and discovered that the right rear tire was flat. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the tire pressure monitor sensor retaining nut was split and failed due to erosion which caused the tire to deflate. As a result, the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,052. Ss.
I had an accident where the vehicle suddenly steered to the left. I did a 360 plus 90. I was going around a bend to the left at the time. There was a light rain at the time but I was not exceeding the speed limit and I have driven this road many times in the past. The front passenger tire was completely torn form the car. After it was towed and I had a chance to see the damage, I noticed a dark black mark about 5/8 of an inch by 1/4 inch on the broken ball joint. I think the ball joint had a defect in it and that a the accident was caused by the ball joint breaking where it flattens out to connect to the steering rod or connecting rod. At the present time the vehicle is at thomas chevy dealership in bedford, PA I am going to have the adjuster take pictures to have some evidence of this and will ask to keep the parts or give them to me. A couple of days after the accident I went back to the location to see if there was any thing more I could remember about the accident and how it happened. I saw a slight gouge in the road like something had been pushed or pulled on the blacktop surface of the road. I will try to see if the end of the tie rod or whatever it is called has a wear spot on it when I go to look at the car today. I have no camera to be able to have any photo evidence of this. I would like to know if there have been other accidents involving a ball joint part breaking.
The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 15 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. In addition, the contact mentioned that the check tire pressure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.
While filling the rear driver side tire with air, the aluminum valve stem snapped off causing the tire to completely deflate. Replaced aluminum stem with rubber stem as a temporary fix while searching for replacement parts to the tpms sensor. Approximately two days later, while attempting to unscrew the valve cap from the rear passenger side tire, the aluminum valve stem broke off in my hand causing the tire to completely deflate. I found after market replacement aluminum valve stems that fit the oem tpms sensors and had them all replaced. Unfortunately it is only a matter of time before these fail. Aluminum valve stems on tpms are clearly a safety issue and warrant a recall. Tpms stems on all newer vehicles are now rubber.
The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the front driver side wheel detached from the vehicle. While driving 70 mph exiting the highway, the vehicle started shaking uncontrollably. The vehicle would not accelerate over 50 mph and slowed down in the middle of the highway. The entire front driver side wheel failed. The contact discovered the body frame, wheel assembly, wheel hub, and wheel bearing were all damaged. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.
Tire pressure monitoring system (tpms)- routinely shows I have 4 flat tires. Ignition switch, tpms sensors, wiring, starter have all been replaced, some numerous times. In addition- car will sometimes not start. We have been dealing with this since June 2015. The vehicle has been to the dealer for this at least 10 times, no resolution.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while driving at 70 mph, the tire pressure warning light indicated that one of the tires had 0 pressure. The failure recurred randomly. The vehicle was taken to dealer where it was diagnosed that the tire pressure monitor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that on a different occasion the vehicle lost all power. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that all four valve stems rusted and broke on the vehicle. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealer and the valve stems were replaced, but the sensor were not changed and the light stayed on. The dealer stated the sensors should not be replaced because the stems will break again. The contact stated that the stems did break again after the replacement. The dealer stated that it is a design flaw from the manufacturer. The first time the contact had the repair made the vehicle had 79000 and the second time the vehicle had 81000. The VIN was not available. Rl.
Grinding coming from rear wheels. Attempted to remove wheel on passenger side 1 lug nut broke. Dealership claimed to attempted to remove by drilling it out, but claimed couldn't because heat had been applied. I never took it anywhere nor applied heat. Took it some where to have taken off. Turns out I had to replaced rear brake pads and rotors. Funny how theres a hub issue on some town and country but not mine. They didn't think the lug nut was a defect. I've never seen one break where the cover of the lug not tears off. Then the sides of the lug break off leaving the base of the lug. After driving the van prior to replacement of parts you could feel the heat coming off of the wheels. Possibly, could that have been the heat that caused the lug not to be able to have been drilled out like the dealership attempted. After several searches of the internet I have seen that I am not the only one unhappy with all of the other issues with this Chrysler product or the dealerships selling them.

The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 45 mph, the front driver side tire blew out and was replaced with a spare. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the tire was replaced. The low tire warning light illuminated, and the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was low. The contact attempted to add air to the tire and the valve stem blew off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the valve stem was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
The tire pressure monitor sensor and valve stem. This part keeps on breaking for no apparent reason. I had to replace at least 4-5 of them. Yesterday, the stem fractured when I was traveling down a county highway about 40 mph. I was able to safely coast to a stop and changed the flat. I had the valve/sensor replaced which cost me about $100. That is nothing compared with the potential hazard of the stems breaking at higher speeds. The situation could have been catastrophic. I believe the part has a design flaw. It is made of white metal or aluminum and does not hold up. The sensors are quite expensive. Newer ones are plastic or even a different design. Maybe other folks are having the same issue?.

Well I'am having electrical issues now I close my hood and my 4 ways start blinking, I turn on my van and the abs & and air bag light come on when I start it but never go off. The cv boot is bad and the half shalf on passenger side I think its making alot of sound when I go down the road ,I already brought brand new outter tie rod ends for both sides, and swag bar lings brand new for both sides springs and mounts, and struts the radio seems to fade in and out you can not see any station numbers or clock time on it so I figured its and elec issues and now in the last couple of day like about july29th, 2015 , I got back home and noticed my temperture light on dash came on and it said h it was it was hot, the day before I just paid for and oil change and thats because their was oil all over the engine and to find out the bolts were all loose but 1 which was striped, but anyways now my fans are not going around and its not keeping my van cool my husband has checked all fuses but can't find the relay for the radiator fan if that even has anything to do with it, I have put over 1,000 in this van now, I'am handid cap and I really need my van to get me around I also don't have the remote to open the doors or lock it so I have to do it with the key , it surely would be nice to have a remote that goes with this van , but it surely would be great if things would work right to, I can be driving it down the road and the automatic door locks will be locking and un locking while I'am driving all by their self also the window wipers wipe but the fluid will not come out on the front windows or the back windows, I hope you can help me out I walk with 1 to 2 canes and sometimes a walker, I have braces on my legs and have to help myself at putting my legs in , I really need a Mini van that will work for me, thank you.

I was driving southbound on I-95, on the right lane. I passed the entrance after conner street, and as I continued to drive, there was a huge pothole which was unavoidable. As a result of pothole, my rims cracked and wheels lumped up on the sides. I had to replace the rims and wheels on my vehicle.
Chrysler declined covering my car under k19 recall because it was manufactured 2 days before the recall date and also they also said my car was sold originally in ok. The car resides in IL since 2013. Even my service advisor thought it was covered by the same recall. The recall cover both of the front wheel bearings, the left one was replaced almost a year ago on my expenses in Chrysler dealer and now after 10 k miles the right wheel bearing started to create humming and grinding sound. I contacted Chrysler customer service and they said that they can't do anything for me because my car was manufactured 2 days before the k19 time frame. I don't mind paying for repairing my car, but this minivan traveled to the dealership 19 times for many different expensive repairs since August 2013, this is too much I appreciate your help in this regard.
Tire valve stem was broken out and flatted out when I took out plastic cap for air filling because I got low tire pressure alert two month ago. I changed tire pressure sensor at my own cost over $200. But yesterday I got low tire pressure alert again, and found another valve stem was broken out again. Need to be recalled. This can cause severe situation not to control vehicle if it happens during driving.
My auto service technician was checking the tire pressure when the valve stem broke off at the valve cap area causing the left rear tire to deflate. The technician said this was due to the dis-similar metals corroding and weakening the valve stem. He said that if the valve stem where to fail at highway speeds it could be very dangerous. This vehicle has the tire pressure displayed on the dashboard.
The vehicle vibrates excessively when driven. The seats all move violently. Car dealers have balanced the tires to no avail. The tires wear out unevenly, cupping because of this issue. We just had new tires installed to correct the problem, according to the dealer that was the fix but the car is still vibrating. The dealer looked at the car again and suggested we rotate tires that were just installed 60 days ago. The tires are again wearing unevenly. We need assistance in having this problem resolved once and for all. The car has 1 year or 12,000 miles left on its warranty. I've lost hope that the dealer will be able to resolve the issue.
I have a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country which is in the service department at taylor Chrysler dealer. My van was making a very loud roaring noise. I was told to bring the van to the dealer because the wheel bearings are under extended warranty due to a defect. When the mechanic called he proceeded to tell me t that the front bearings are bad which would be covered. He also stated that the right rear bearing was bad as well but would not be covered. He also stated that there is no way that wheel bearings at this mileage should go bad this is not a normal wear and tear part of a vehicle. I would hope that you can do an investigation to show how bad the rear bearing are as well. This is obviously a defect as well but, I am going to be out $500. 00 to make the repair. I have done some research and I am not the only one that is/has dealt with this problem.
All of the metal valve stems are corroded and cracked, and one of our tires is slowly leaking air as a result. We've been told this is a major safety concern because the valve stem can continue to crack and eventually break, causing rapid tire pressure deflation. The result can be loss of control of the vehicle when the tire blows out and possible catastrophic results. I have noticed several other Chrysler and Dodge minivans in my area with the same problem. I live in syracuse, NY and to combat 115 inches of snow each year, they use road salt. The metal valve stems used by Chrysler do not resist corrosion. I replaced one at the dealer and cost about $250 between the part and reprogramming the tps. This is a potential deadly issue and Chrysler should be forced to recall the faulty valve stems that corrode and crack.
Had to replace both rear hubs. Was told that there was a recall a few months past my vehicle.
The tpms light keeps coming back on. The van has been serviced at the dealership that it was bought from. They did not inform me of the recall or rectify the problem even after mentioning it to them repeatedly.
Just purchased a used 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. It was taken to the shop for extensive maintenance, including the replacement of the hub bearing - front right with oem parts. Upon further inspection we ascertained that there is a recall for this part for the 2008 model year. Chrysler notification k19 states: "the front wheel bearings on your vehicle (VIN: xxxxxxx) may develop a growling or grinding noise. The bearing noise may increase or decrease during turning maneuvers. What your dealer will Chrysler will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor) well, it turns out that my vehicle VIN number is not included in the recall. Is there a reason for this? can you look into this? thank you.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The stated that while driving approximately 65mph, the vehicle was pulling to the right hand side and the tire warning light had illuminated. The contact discovered that the front passenger's side tire was flat. The contact was not able to put air into the tire because valve stem went inside the tire. The independent mechanic diagnosed and repaired the tire pressure monitoring system and the valve stem. The manufacturer had not been notified. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000. Ne.
The vehicle 'charging system light', 'tire pressure monitoring system (tpms) light', and 'airbag warning light' have stayed on. The tires pressure light first turn on about 05/16/2014 the airbag light first turn on 07/23/2014 while driving. The charging system light first turn on 08/06/2014.
The spare tire carriers do not release the tire. This can be dangerous on the highway when trying to change a tire. The cable releases but the tire stays up. You have to lay on the ground get your legs under the car while it is jacked up and with try to kick the tire loose. Very dangerous! we have a fleet of Dodge / Chrysler Mini vans most have experienced the issue. When we were notified of the Toyota campaign I immediately thought why Chrysler has not done anything about this potentially dangerous situation.
