2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Chrysler Voyager

Failure Date: 05/10/2004

The contact owns a 2002 Chrysler Voyager. While driving approximately 60 mph, the brake system spontaneously failed. The contact had to apply tremendous pressure to the brake pedal in order for the brakes to function. She took her vehicle to the dealer on several occasions and they cleaned the brake pads with the air line blower, added sway bar links, and replaced the brake shoes and drums. Shortly after the repairs were made, the brakes failed again while driving. The dealer stated that her failure was an isolated issue. The manufacturer stated that her VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 06e022000 (service brakes, hydraulic); therefore, the contact would be responsible for the repair costs. The failure mileage was 35,000 and current mileage was 85,000.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2001 Chrysler Voyager

Failure Date: 01/01/2003

Although there has not been an accident, there is a certain amount of acceptable replacement time before pads should be changed. I have had to replace these just about every three months. The rotors have been done at the same time. Normally I would say that the repair shop was taking advantage of me, but this has been done with more than just a second opinion and a mechanic for a father in law. This is unacceptable and I know im not the only consumer that is in this situation. Pads should not be replaced that often especially with most of the mileage coming from highway use rather than city use.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Chrysler Voyager

Front brake pad is leaking a metallic substance, causing a malfuction in pad, resulting in brake pedal going all the way to the floor when brakes are applied. Dealer contacted.
