Speed Control Springs problems of the 2008 Dodge Avenger

Could not use cruise control then air bag light came on and would not go off then it was hard to turn the steering wheel took it to my mechanic he found it to be the clock spring he tells me he's not sure if I have a accident the air bags are going to work and I could end up not being able to turn left or right in my vehicle the estimate is for 1000. 00 I don't have that. If its that serious there should be a recall or investigation into this problem.

I took my car in on January 21, 2015 because my airbag light was flashing again but this time it's a clockspring and shawn at Dodge told me that is not safe to drive the car like this because airbags wont work, my cruise control doesn't work and he said more things will fail. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the thermostat, clockspring, ecm manifold, throttle body, starter, battery, air fan, integrated power module, air conditioner, compressor, intake runner, steering wheel, and engine needed to be repaired. The vehicle was taken to brockton Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram (241020 belmont st, brockton, MA 02301, (781) 961-1550), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 36,000. The VIN was invalid.
