Window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes and circulations. This safety issue affects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin temperatures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin).
Vehicle turns off while driving sometimes starts up sometimes not! doesn't give a warning replaced multiple things afraid of the car doing it in a turn everything shuts down power steering and everything!.
Throttle body changed 3 times still stalling and poor acceleration problems very unsafe stalls out of no where very frustrated also changed electronic pedal and battery lighting signs still comes on and stalls very dangerous!.

My car doesn't start. I've been having the same problems since last year. I've been told 3 times that it was the alternative so I've bought 3. Then I was told it was the cords on my battery so I fixed that. Now I'm currently getting it looked at which I think it is the transmission or starter. I've also bought two batteries. Last week wen I went to the store a girl came up to me and asked do I have problems with my car I told her yes she said her mother has the same car as I do and told me that she her car keeps turning off and want crank. She said she put so much money into the car that she just had to get another one. So I know that it has to be something wrong because I'm also having those same type of problems and I keep my car up very well.
All the sudden my dash defogger on passenger side and passenger defogger are blowing cold air and drivers side is warm. Googled issue and it seems to be a big thing.
Just bought this car yesterday. The heat does not work blows out cold air all the time. The heat just quit working right before winter is about to start. I've been reading this exact problem with many others.
A known issue with 2011 doge Avenger where the heater core goes bad . It's a known issue and should be covered by Dodge. I shouldn't have to pay $1k out of pocket . I have read hundreds of forums stating the problem and it has never been addressed . Ridiculous by Dodge.
My car stalled 3xs has to replace ignition control switch. My heat doesn't work on passenger side. My lights flicker as I accelerate on expressway or even on the street now. Motor on passenger window went out.
I was driving down the highway this has happened I believe atleast 3 times now, all of a sudden while driving not sure if a specific speed but I was going atleast 50 mph each time, the steering wheel seems to lock up for a good second or two which is a long time when your going that speed. It's extremely scary and the first time it happened I didn't know if it happened or not than it happened again not sure how long after and that's when I was like ok maybe that steering wheel did lock up before than when it happened again I knew for sure it was really happening cause I had a friend in passenger seat who witnessed this . Now it's been a while and my car all of a sudden won't start and my steering wheels will not lock . I've replaced sensors tried deleting codes . The codes I got were wrong immobilizer key and low voltage . Doing as much research as I have for the last week buying and trying things I've seen a major problem with these cars is a security issue and it can shut your car off as your driving normally. Thia is dangerous and for as many complaints how is there no recall on this.

This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin temperatures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin). Manufacturer is aware but has yet to recall the issue even though reports are widespread for their vehicles in this model and dealership states it is a known issue.
The passenger side blows cold air when the heat is on. It doesnt defrost the window on the passenger side which is then a safety hazard for me and pedestrians. The passeger side vents blow cold air regardless of if im moving or not moving.
Heat and defrost on passenger side blows out cold air only. Replaced actuator and no change. Drivers side works as it should.
Heater blows hot air on driver side and cold air on passenger side.
For the 3rd or 4th time my car has suddenly lurched/jerked forward for unknown reasons. The first two times I was at a red light intersection and all of the sudden the car unexpectedly jerked forward without warning or explanation. I researched it online and found similar issues with other Dodge owners. Some mentioning the throttle positioning sensor. I'm not a mechanic so I have no knowledge as to what is occurring. This latest occurrence caused a minor slow speed 'bumper tag' bump to the car ahead of me to the car ahead. My dashcam captured the incident. The dashcam video is *. Mov format but is very clear in 1080p with speed, date, and time stamped. If you would like that I would need to email that other than this website platform. You will see the bumper collision occurred at 3mph. No marks were left on either vehicles.
Heat only blows hot on drivers side.
Unable to defrost windows (or heat cabin) in cold causing dangerous driving conditions. Although not recalled, manufacture defects are well documented causing the heater core to plug from sand and casting debris.
I have no heat in my car due to the heater core being plugged. The dealer said it's due to a manufacturer defect .

Replace heater coil and accuator still no heat and defroster don't work.
Heater blows hot air on the drivers side and cold on the passenger side. Doesn't matter if the car is sitting or moving, no heat comes from the passenger side. Safety issue due to being unable to fully defrost the car!!.
My wife brought a 2011 Dodge Avenger 2 months ago the ac/ heater system is not working properly, when the heat is turned on ,or temperature is turned to hot the driver side delivers warm air ,and the passenger side is cold, all three actuator we're replaced and the new thermostats were also replaced. . . . I have readed about this car having these issues, I also took it to a mechanic and he stated ,that Dodge is commonly known for this problem. . . . I honestly feel that this is their responsibility and should fix our car at no charge. . .
I have a 2011 Avenger and the heat stopped blowing on the passenger side. It only works on the drivers side. I have heard and seen many complaints on this.
Car will break down (total loss of rpms, not power). Has happened several times on the highway, on a bridge and in residential area. The car will start back up after 1-2 hours with no issue. 5 mechanics, including the Dodge dealership, have been unable to find the issue and/or resolve.
My heater isn't blowing warm air out of the passenger side of the car, only the driver side. Thinking the door/flap isn't working properly.
Heater blows cold on passenger side of car and warm on drivers side of car. Won't defrost the windshield for many miles. Dealer said it's heater core and not covered under warranty. This is a common issue with these cars and should be a recall from Dodge. Sand and metal fragments from the factory engine mold gets into the water system and in time plugs the heater core or radiator in time. This is a recall issue. Or should be.
No heat on passenger side had the heater core flushed did no good was told there was left over sand from engine cast. This should be fixed by chysler! I don't have $1500 to fix a problem that they are well aware of.
Heat functions properly on the driver side but blows cold air on the passenger side. The windshield defrosts on the driver side but does not defrost on the passenger side.
The heater doesn't work properly. The passenger side always blows cold air. The driver side blows warm.
2011 Dodge Avenger. 3. 6l engine. While driving between 30 and 40 mph, on deceleration, once the gas pedal is pressed to accelerate, the engine stalls. All electrical still works, but power steering and braking are lost. Car does not restart for at least an hour or more, but will start evnetually. Has happened "intermittently" 10 times since Dec 2017 (this report done July 2018). 8 dealer trips with a torque converter replacement, new fuel pump and still stalling issues while trying to accelerate. Empty back roads, state highways and even busy freeways have all been locations for stalls. All weather conditions, (winter, summer, wet, dry). One code pulled referred to the tipm, which is a major problem for Chrysler, but not documented in the Avenger. Dealer wants a second code to confirm but of the 10 stalls and 8 being towed to the dealer immediately, only once was code saved in car's computer.
This is another complaint adding to the list of disappointed customers about the passenger side heat not working. I bought a used 2011 3. 6l Dodge Avenger a week ago from a dealership. Less than 100,000 miles. Everything about this car appeared to be in great shape and working order. I checked all the vents when I initially started up the car. They were all blowing air which seemed to be a good sign. . It was cold out so I assumed they all would blow heat eventually. As I'm test driving the car, the heat on the driver side cranks up. "great the heat works. " I thought as I continued to test the rest of the car out. . Happily drove off the lot. . Btw I checked for recalls before buying the vehicle and contacted NHTSA and gave them the VIN# which I found 1 unserviced recall but was willing to fix on my own knowing it was covered by Dodge. . . . . Days later. . My first passenger brings it to my attention that cold air was attacking them (as I sit comfortably in a reasonable temperature). So like everyone else dealing with this matter, I started to research reasons why such a thing was happening and looking for a solution. After having a couple of mechanics take a look at the car (hoping its just a blend door issue - hell of alot cheaper of a problem) it turns out it would cost me about 20% (or close to $2000) of what I paid for the car! this is not a normal problem. I have spent the same amount of time enjoying the car as I have regretting it. Unless this gets fixed (paid for) by the manufacturer I can't see how I can ever again support this brand. . I hope this complaint reaches Dodge and they do right by their customers!! - Dodge do the right thing and fix this!.
The heater only somewhat works. The driver side blows luke warm air if lucky and passenger side blows ice cold. This causes dangerous driving due to poor visibility inside car. Have replaced thermostat 3 times and had system flushed as advised. I have had problems with both ac/heat since I bought the car. This has been an ongoing issue. Antifreeze also leaks from front of car and into driver side floor board.
While my 2011 Dodge Avenger is idling and slowing down it continues to stall out. It also sometimes does it while I'm driving too. I then have to put the car in park and restart it and put it back into drive in the middle of the road. There is no check engine light and no notifications under the system check dash light.
The car only has heat coming out of 1 vent and it's warm not even hot. I've had lines flushed, actuators and blend door replaced and it still doesn't work. When it's cold the car doesn't get above 40 degree's. It's unacceptable as I have 2 kids and can't have them in freezing temperatures. Apparently this is a defect with the vehicle and Dodge/crystler refuses to fix it.
The heat blows warm on the driver side and freezing cold on the passenger side seat and window. Therefore, only half of my window will get defrosted. This happens whether I am driving or sitting idle.
