The heat on my passenger side was blowing out cold air and also making a noise replaced the actuator still no heat I've heard this is a popular issue is these vehicles.
The heater is not working properly. It blows warm air on the drivers side, but blows ice cold air on the passengers side. I have had this issue for two years and we have not found a resolution for it yet even after having it looked at and fixed multiple times. I've heard this is a known and common issue.
The passenger side is blowing cold air with the heater is on. We went to the dealer, where we have the extended warranty, and they said the heater core is partly plugged & that it will need to be replaced at the cost of $1300, and that is not covered under the warranty. They are saying that there is leftover sand from the engine cast when Dodge first put the car together. The sand made its way into the bottom half of the heater core that the passenger side uses for heat. I think Dodge should pay for their mistake. I can be driving 30 or more mile and the heater on the drivers side can not keep up with the cold air.
I got a letter in mail Nov 2016 about a recall. They tell me they have no parts til at least June. This is a safety issue. I have a family in this car. They need to do something now or contact me and give me a new car or rental waited long enough . My car also makes a noise the company said alot of the cars do it then why hasn't it been recalled. It in the heating system. I love my car but no longer feel safe it in and will not be recommending Dodge to anyone from now on. The noise happens 24/7 car on or off. The recall is for air bag and seat belt safety that is a big deal. So why are they doing nothing to help anyone with one of these vehicles?? I worry everytime I have to drive the car and when my kids are in it if we are even safe. Recall issued in Nov 6 months ago!!!!.
Heater will not work properly. I've had thermostat changes, heater core, and it still will not work.
Passenger side heat stopped working. Cold air blows out of vents on passenger side near door and right middle vent. As well as defrost vents and feet vent on passenger side. Driver side vents are blowing luke warm air. Not hot. Roughly 48k miles on car. Have seen many other complaints about this.
I own a 2011 Dodge Avenger. . . Which has no heat. It started with cold air on passenger side and now there is no heat at all, and living where its 20 below, it isn't fun driving to work in the morning. I have replaced the temp sensors, control knobs, actuator, have flushed the radiator 3x have flushed the heater core 3x. Each flushing produced sand. I don't believe I should of had to pay for this as it is the fault of Dodge!! I have never owned anything but a Dodge but this issue is making think differently about Dodge. U would think that Dodge would take care of there customers. . . . I think Dodge should do a recall on this. If something isn't done I'm changing I believe. Sad sad sad!!!.
Heating system blowing cold air out the passenger side vents, while the drivers side is warm .
The heat from the passenger side does not work. The air works great, but no heat. This was just noticed a couple of weeks ago. I took the car to the dealer that I purchased it from and the cost will be $1,002. 80. I feel this should be something that is fixed without me having to pay so much. I have only had the car for 1 year. I have read that there are several people that have the same problem. Should be a recall. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
My car blows cold air on the passenger side of the car. I took it in January of 2016 and spent almost $1k to replace heater core and took it in again October 2016 for same issue. The repair shop told me that they would flush it really well and spoke to a Dodge dealer and it is a known design flaw but there is no fix. The best they could do was flush with mopar cleaner and replace coolant (another $200) and hope for the best. This was a fix but will not resolve the issue. I've owned the car for 3yrs and make car payments and have spent $1200 in last 9mos. Got the car back a week ago and already blowing lukewarm on passenger side and will no doubt be blowing cold by winter. Looking online it is a known issue and complaint of 2010-2012 Avengers. Why is the issue not being handled and how much do us consumers have to spend?? Dodge should stand behind their products. It's not a "safety" issue but when weather drops to 10 below and I'm literally freezing. . . How is this not a safety issue? how much more am I going to have to spend? I can't afford constant repairs for same issue. Fix the issue so I can love my car again.
My 2011 Dodge Avenger heat has a heating problem. The passenger side heat/defrost only blows cold air. I put the fan on high and still only cold air. When warming car up with remote start the car is not warm after 10 to 15 minutes causing the passenger side windshield to not defrost. I drive 50 miles one way to work and am freezing when I get there. I have seen forums where this is happening to many other people.
Defroster only works on high. Drove for 40 minutes had to keep fan and heat control on full the whole time to keep windshield cleaned off. Side windows never cleared off.
My heater only blows warm air on the drivers side.
Passenger defrost blows cold air which means it is not clearing the windows in inclement weather. The frosting of windows has created safety issues for me because on a busy road I have almost had an accident.
The car blows warm to hot air out of the driver's side and cold air out the passenger's side when you have the controls set to heat. I have had the heater core and coolant system flushed as well as had thermostats, water pump replaced but the issue still persists. When set to defrost only the driver's side defrosts. The passwnger's side gets worse. This issue is current and always happening no matter the state of the vehicle. If it is moving or still it does not blow heat out the pasenger's side. This is a safety issue because the car windshield reduces visibility because it will not defrost and because of the heightened hypothermia risk. Yes.
2011 Dodge Avenger. Consumer writes in regards to safety recall not being repaired on vehicle to date. Updated 09/29/2017.
The heating system only blows cold air needs a heating core this problem started 3 years ago it eventually did not blow hot air at all.
After being stopped in traffic for a few minutes I released the brake to accelerate, the car began to sputter and stalled immediately afterwards. I then put the car in park, turned it off and it restarted with no problems. It has done this once a week for the last three weeks. The check engine light has not come on at any point. I ran a diagnostic with the obd2 and it produces no codes.
Heater/defrost does not blow hot or even warm air on the passenger side. I have been having this problem for 4 years and have had it flushed and checked. I'm told this is a known issue but Dodge does not cover it.

I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2011. Since 2011 it has stalled out on me 4 times when I am at low speeds or when accelerating when a red light turns green. One of the stalls it happened as I was making a uturn and a car nearly hit me while I was trying to restart the car. I have taken the vehicle in several times to the dealer and each time they find nothing wrong with the car. This situation is exactly as described by another complaint on this website. I have noticed the car has a very slight surge at idle or at a light when the ac is running and mentioned this to the techs but they stated its normal. Doesn't seem normal to me as the car didn't do it when purchased and now it randomly stalls. They did flash the onboard computer but this has not fixed the problem. Guess it will take a serious accident before the dealer or Dodge believes there is a issue.
Shortly after exceeding the 30,000 mile warranty the gear shift would not come out of park. Fortunately, it seems this issue has happened to others because I found a youtube video on how to get it out of park by removing the gear shift cover and using a screwdriver to lift the piece that is usually lifted by the brake cable to the gear shift. The dealer ordered the part replacement but the labor costs were exhorbant so I took it to a friend who used to be a Dodge dealer and they fixed it for less than $100.
I have a 2011 Dodge Avenger express and have an issue with my windshield wipers. They only work on the high setting. When I went to the local dealer they told me that I needed a new motor that would cost $200. When I took it back in for that repair they told me that a new motor wasn't called for but a tipm was needed at the request of Dodge/Chrysler at the cost of $800. 00. There is a recall for the tipm but it starts in June of 2011 and my car was made in February of that year. Is there something I can do? there is no way I can come up with $800. 0 for this.
I have never received a recall letter but there are several that are open. This VIN is also on the buyback list and I've called two local dealers to ask about it and they won't give an answer but we can trade in. I've also call fac. I bought it certified used.
