1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 07/21/2020

I keep having the vehicle fixed and then they keep telling me nothing else needs to be fixed with it. It keeps pullingn when I come to a stop and then decelerates while I'm driving and I have to pull over on the highway or pull off the highway and start the car again. No lights come on there's oil in the car I just had an oil change I just had to brake pads fixed even though the brakes keep squeaking the rotors are new xcetera. This isn't the first time it has decelerated I had to have a part replaced a couple years ago because it was doing the same thing. Trying to figure out if there's any recalls on the car in order to get those recalls fixed. It did the same thing last year and when I took it in they fixed another part. It's never the same part that the mechanics fix and say is causing the problem.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2014 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 09/02/2015

I got my front breaks done with aftermarket brake pads and rotors weird grinding squealing sound the place told me it was my transmission probably. I took it to the dealer for a diagnostic, and they said it was after market parts causing the noise and recommended that I get factory parts put on the car. I went back to jiffy lube, the original people who placed the aftermarket parts on and when they replaced everythin with factory parts, the noise still occured. I took it back to Dodge, informing them that their diagnostic that was recommended was handled and the noise still occurs. They, came back with the same answer "your front brakes". How is it that you diagnose my car and tell me it's one thing, and when I get that one thing fixed, it's still the same issue? at this point, I am convinced it's not jiffy lube, but Dodge not doing proper diagnostics because I also complained about my car jumping when I break and it takes long to shift into gear. They didn't even diagnose that and when I complained, they said everything was fine with my transmission. I own a 2014 Dodge Avenger and I got it from folsom lake Dodge.

The contact also stated that the vehicle emitted hot air from the driver side underneath the dashboard. The hot air intensified while driving approximately 50 mph. 6 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 11/29/2013

When I go to brake from speeds of 25 mph and up, the car starts shaking violently. I have to press the brake pedal slowly and holds the steering wheel stronger to counter the shaking and not lose control of the vehicle. This is not always possible to do when braking. The faster the vehicle is going, the worse it shake swhen applying the brakes. I have taken it to the dealership and several other car places to have the brakes checked and they cannot find the problem. They've changed pads, rotors, etc. On multiple occasions in a short period of time and the problem remains. This is very dangerous and there seems to be no fix.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 02/04/2013

From the first time I bought this car the brakes would squeal when I would backup. I talked to the service manager at the Dodge dealer where I bought the car about this problem and he said it was a problem with the Avenger models from the factory. They tried to solve the problem by cleaning the brake pads but the problem continues down to this day. The Chrysler company said they can't do anything about the problem. So basically I have to live with the problem. I got the bbb involved but they could not accomplish anything either. This may not be a safety issue, but it is certainly an irritation.

9 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 1999 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 07/21/2004

The rotors and brake pads on my 1999 Dodge Avenger wear out very quickly (less than 10,000 miles). I have read two possible explanations: a malfunctioning brake sensor is keeping the brakes engaged slightly and creating excess heat and wear; the rotors were originally designed for the Mitsubishi eclipse (a significantly smaller and lighter car then the Avenger) and are not large enough to handle the braking needs of the Avenger. It is clear from this and many other automobile complaint sites that this is a common problem with the sebring and Avenger models. In light of the recent cover ups Mitsubishi is accused of perpetrating regarding recalls, it is imperative that this issue be made public and that both Dodge and Mitsubishi work to rectify the problem.
