Window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin.

2 Wiper problem of the 2008 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 04/10/2023

When utilizing the front wipers during the rain the wipers will stop working at any giving time. Also sometimes when you utilize the turn signals the wipers will come on and remain in the upward stuck position. After doing vigorous research about this known issue with Dodge vehicle I came across a lot of information online with Dodge owners of various models. The Dodge Avenger forum has tons of write ups of people complaining about the issue with their wipers intermitting operation function. Many write up mention the tipm/fuse panel. My question is why hasnt Dodge recall vehicle that are affected by this. My concern of this is a major safety issue I have priced the tipm and this would be a very expensive repair for an out of pocket expense especially if this is something that was created at the manufacturing level of this particular part this part definitely defective issues and Dodge isn't doing nothing about this.

7 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 12/07/2021

The heat on the passenger does not work at all I was driving and the frost kept coming back on the windshield I almost had a wreck with another vehicle. The way the sunshine hit the frost on the windshield it shined to bright for me to see. How is this safe? I have seen where many people are having this issue online. It just blows cold air on the passenger side vents. No police were involved but I could’ve ended up in the hospital all because of a little part that won’t get recalled.

Failure Date: 08/19/2021

It seems to be a common issue that I'm experiencing as well. When I turn the heat on it only blows hot on the driver side. On Apr 11,2021 I was driving around 35-40 mph and my hood came flying up in front of me. I have call Chrysler and they sent out inspector ron marnese, who inspected the car and found the secondary latch was not working. Chrysler has informed me that they will not fix my car due to it being out of warranty and there is no recall. Inspector had told me that he thought that engineering would want the latch and thought this would get repaired by them due to the car being in excellent shape. Chrysler did not seem to care the this is a safety issue.

13 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 03/24/2021

Passenger side heat is inop resulting in windshield fogging over while driving and causing an issue seeing the road as the environmental system is unable to maintain proper climate control. This happens every winter, and whenever it rains. This is a persistent problem in highway, and city traffic resulting in near accidents. I've had this cars system flushed and that is only a temporary fix as this is a known issue as stated from mechanics.

Heater on the passenger side of the vehicle blows out cold air while driver side blows out hot air like it's supposed to. By having cold air being blown out, this causes the windshield and windows on the passenger side of the vehicle to fog up causing visibility issues.

18 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 12/01/2020

Driver side vent blows hot air when heat is on, but center and passenger side blow cold air. This causes fogging of the windshield, which means I can't see out the window. I've read this is common with the 2013-2013 Avenger.

19 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Avenger

21 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 10/24/2020

Defrosters doesn't work because heat on passenger side doesn't work. I've had the actuator replaced and was told it was my thermostat, after I've gotten that replaced I was told it was my heater core! I can't drive my car during rainy days because defrosters doesn't work due to no hot air.

24 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Avenger

Window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. 25 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 09/14/2020

Replaced heater core and air door actuator 12/13 months ago because passenger side blew ice cold air driver side hot air. Also defogger/defrost did not work. No visibility throughout windshield on passenger side due to ice build up. Same problem after just 12-13 months. Now it includes a thumpng noise under the dashboard when ac is turned on.

26 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 09/08/2020

The heater on the passenger side of the vehicle does not work no matter how long I have my car turned on, so when it gets cold and my window is foggy or ices over I can not use the defrost. This problem happens while it is parked in driveway and continues while I am driving. When I'm driving and my window gets foggy from me being in it I have no way of fixing causing me to see through a fog. I have had the heater core replaced, and it has been flushed out. This only fixes the problem for a few months, but by the time it gets cold again it happens all over.

27 Wiper problem of the 2011 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 08/20/2020

My car stalled 3xs has to replace ignition control switch. My heat doesn't work on passenger side. My lights flicker as I accelerate on expressway or even on the street now. Motor on passenger window went out.

28 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 05/25/2020

The temperature actuator behind the glove box has been replaced 3 times because of clicking and not controlling air temperature. We just replaced it again and I have hot air on the drivers side and middle vent and cold air on the other middle vent and passengers side (very uncomfortable for the driver). Safety concern when defrost is needed. Passenger side defrosts but drivers side gets worse and causes a hazard for driving. I am a college student who commutes to school every morning and this has created close calls for accidents because I am having to lean over to the passenger side to see. We have tried to find more information online and many other cars of this model are having this same issue. We do not know what to to to fix this problem it seems to be a manufacturing flaw. My car has a little over 64,000 miles and this is an ongoing issue.

29 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 02/03/2020

Bad heater core on my Avenger. Does not have a lot of miles on it. Was not able to defrost passenger side of windshield, had no heat at all on passenger side of car.

30 Wiper problem of the 2012 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 01/22/2020

The heat on the passenger side went out while the drivers side still had heat. We were driving in snow and ice and had very limited visibility out of the windshield of the passenger side as well as the side windows when checking for traffic while driving on an interstate. I understand that this is a common occurrence in Dodge Avengers. The actuator was changed which did not help. The drivers side heat is now very reduced which is causing more visibility issues in driving in snow and rain.

31 Wiper problem of the 2014 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

The heater core is working and the bend door actuators are working but the heat only works on the driver side and not the passenger side. I've seen many forums of people saying the same things about 2012-2014 models. This seems to be a big issue with this car. It is winter now and only half the heat works, as well as only half the defroster as well. The car only has 105k miles on it and I've had no issues till this and other recalls. Dodge should recall these as it's a issue with many Avenger models. The vehicle does it just idling in a park spot or driving. Not sure if it's defective actuator bending doors or the heater core itself?! plz look further into this and hopefully this issue can be considered for a recall.

32 Wiper problem of the 2013 Dodge Avenger

Failure Date: 01/16/2020

For the past couple of months my horn goes off on its own. Sometimes it goes off when I lock my car, other times it does not. It will sometimes click, and other times it will blare for 5 seconds. It is very startling especially while driving in traffic or sitting at a stoplight. Once I was driving in the rain, and it went off for about 8 seconds and at the same time my windshield wipers started to stall and not work properly. The horn does not work when I push on it like it should. It is very concerning since it can cause safety issues.

The passengers side of my heater including defrosters's blows cold air. The car only has 50,500 miles. This causes the passengers side to not properly defrost and for any passenger in the car to be cold as cold air is blowing at their feet or face depending on where the control is set.
