The passenger side windshield defroster puts out cold air even after the vehicle has been warmed up and driven for a while. This often makes my car difficult and dangerous to drive because the windshield will not defrost or defog in a timely manner or at all.

The vehicle blows hot air on the drivers side, but cold air on the passenger side. Since it is blowing only cold air on one half of the windshield the windows ice up, freeze up and fog up. This is a driving hazard, since this impairs visibilty.
Heater/defroster blowing cold air out passenger side of vehicle. Problem with defroster/visability. Heater core replaced in Jan 2018. Thermostat replaced in 2019. Now two years later same issue is happening again.

Passenger side has only cold air blowing out of the defroster. Driver's side is hot and working properly. This condition applies when the vehicle is fully warmed up, driving, accelerating or stationary.
No heat to defrost passenger side windshield making difficult to see anything coming from the right.
: "window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin). " does not matter if vehicle is moving or parked.

Heat and defrost for windshield does not work on passenger side. Even if I scrape that side of the windshield it still frost over as I drive causing visibility to be difficult on that side. I've read a lot of reviews and this is a common occurrence on the v6 versions. This is a manufacture issue a long with being a safety concern. Being able to safely see is not accessory it is essential. So many complaints with this exact issue only leads back to the manufacture. Has noting to do with vehicle maintenance. This company needs to be held accountable!.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the heating system was not working and affected her ability to defrost the windows. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the heater core needed to be replaced. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 86,000.
My passenger side heat quit working so I no longer have defrost during the winter months on the passenger side of my vehicle and will have to pull over to scrape the inside and outside of my vehicle or roll down a window to keep it from fogging up and randomly started a couple years ago.
Passenger side vents only blow cold air. After driving for over an hour, the drivers side vent will be blowing warm air while the passenger side is still blowing cold air. Unable to defrost windshield and windows causing visibility issues.
Window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin temperatures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin). Manufacturer is aware but has yet to recall the issue even though reports are widespread for their vehicles in this model and dealership states it is a known issue.

Currently having an issue with heat not working on the passenger side of my 2013 Dodge Avenger. Cold air blows on the passenger side and only heat is blowing on driver side which impacts defrosting on my vehicle. This is very frustrating because I cannot see at times and also winter is coming and I need t keep my child and I warm. This issue has been reported several times by Dodge Avenger owners. What is it going to take for Dodge to recall this issue and fix it??? ialso paid $1500 to have my tipm fixed in the vehicle because the horn was honking at all times of the day and night and while I was driving it.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the heating hvac system was inoperable on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger side window would not defrost when the heater was activated. The contact was an independent mechanic and diagnosed that the hvac system failed and needed to be replaced. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000. The VIN was unknown.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that while the heater was in the on position the the passenger side vent distributed cold air while the driver;s side distributed hot air and failed to defrost the windshield. There were no warning lights illuminated, the contact called the local dealer bald hill Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram 1035 bald hill rd, warwick, ri 02886 (844) 847-4671 who stated that the heater core was clogged up. But was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 70,000. Ap.
For reference, this is the complaint I filed: "window defrost and passenger heat /air. While either in motion or while driving, no heated air exits the passenger side of the windshield defroster, nor the passenger window defrost, lower and center console vents. Heated air only exits the driver's side windshield and driver's side dash vents. Problem persists through all cabin air modes, and circulations. Vehicle was serviced for airbag recalls however the light stays on constantly. Not long after buying the vehicle, I would put use the turn signal and the windshield wipers would come on, they still do from time to time. I took it in for service at the dealer and they could not figure out the problem. Also, from time to time, the air conditioner button will not work. The only way to get it to work is to rapidly turn the knob from side to side. It has sometimes taken up to 5 minutes to get it to work.
Air bag light was coming on and off for drivers head rest air bag was taken in for that recall now same problem is happening again also have that awesome Dodge defect were the heater blows hot on drivers side and ice ice cold on passenger side these are pretty major defects witch Dodge has known about and should be held accountable.
I was driving along the freeway and the car just automatically went into limp mode. I change the oil I flush everything then when I went on to the kelly book blue book to try to sell it as saying that it had a bunch of recalls welcome to find out Chrysler saying it doesn't so I don't know what's going on with my car and neither do mechanics.

My car began clicking, approximately 30 seconds at a time, late winter early spring 2018-2019 when the heat was turned on. I came to realize the car did not need to be running for this to happen. During an oil change the following week I was told the clicking had to do with the vents and how common this clicking was and that repair eas not guaranteed. As I am the primary person/occupant in my car, I found out later the heat only produced warm air. This is my 1st time owning a Dodge and everyday my experiences with this car reaffirms I will never own another. I make it a point to tell any and everyone this fact. I have copied some of the complaints logged about this and my other issue, car stalling while turning left to enter the freeway with throttle indicator. I was on the side of the road alone and female until tow arrived at 9pm and the cost for an alternator which after reading this may not be the issue. . . . Had I known how unresponsive Dodge is to their customers by putting their profit over our cost of repairs. . . Again, I tell everyone what they are likely to experience if they purchase the Avenger. The complainants listed here and on other sites very likely agree. Attached pics were time stamped 6. 39pm. I sat on the on ramp to the freeway approximately 3 hours.
Hot air from drivers side and cold air from passenger side. I live in maine. I had a couple rough winters because we couldn't find out what it was. I found out what it is but I can't find a garage to put it in. This is a server visibly concern. The trunk and inside the car leaks above the windshield causing the car to smell musty and cause mold. Above the windowsheid where it leaks is causing moisture inside and making the visibility almost impossible at times. This car has had two owners with less then 100,000 miles. Family owned.
When heater activated, only drivers side blows heat while passenger side blows cold. Vehicle does not have dual air controls. Causing a safety issue because windshield only defrosts one side and other side fogs up.
The heater core is cold on the passenger side which is a well known and well documented issue with this car and other mopar makes/models. Dodge has admitted its a manufacturers defect but will not fix the problem. Not only is it freezing in my car but the windshield wont defrost on the passenger side of the front and side passenger side windows. The visibility is terrible and is likely to cause an accident.
Defroster vent is not putting out hot air on the passenger side of vehicle. This causes the passenger side windows and approx. 1/4 of the front passenger side window to fog and or frost over causing serious visibility issues! vehicle can be stationary, in motion, on the road, it happens at anytime. Vehicle repair shop said it is a Chrysler manufacturing defect with the heater core on the Dodge Avengers. Repair shop flushed the heater core but stated this is a temporary fix as the issue will continue to reappear until Chrysler admits there is a safety issue and issues a recall to rectify the defect. Due to the windows fogging and or frosting over in cold weather, this is a very serious issue that Chrysler needs to take care of ASAP. This defect could cause accidents due to visibility resulting in serious injury or death!.
The passenger side only blows cold air when the heat/defrost is on. This causes my passenger window to not defrost. This happens no matter if the car is at idle or while driving. The passenger side will only blow cold air. The driver side heat/defrost works fine. I have been told it's anything from an actuator to the heater core. I live in a state where we have cold winters and frequent snow. This is a safety issue as it impairs my ability to see my passenger side mirror, etc.
Started with no heat on the passenger side, and now I have just warm air on the driver side. This issue is causing a visibility and safety issue because the windshield will not defrost. I have seen this same issue all over the internet.
Takata recall I have a 2012 Dodge Avenger r/t. Like many other Avengers, the heat on the passenger side of my vehicle stopped working. I get nothing but cold air on the passenger side. I've done my research, and this is a manafacturer defect that results from bad casting that causes metal flakes to break off and fill up the heater core until it becomes so clogged that it stops working properly. A simple flush will not do the job, and the heater core must be replaced. This is an expensive repair. I highly believe that this should be a recall, due to the fact that visibility is severely decreased in winter on the right side of the car. This not only puts the driver and passengers in danger, but other vehices and pedestrians as well.
2013 Dodge Avenger heater/defrost not properly working. It has begun to go out one vent at a time leaving only one vent blowing warm air all others blow cold. This is very hazardous when it does not defrost properly and when needing defrost while driving it only makes the windshield visible through the driver side with the heat. We have attempted to fix this issue by changing blend door actuators and flushing the heater core which came out clear.
Passenger side heater/defroster vents blow cold air, while driver side blows warm air.
My heat on my passenger side never works, it will blow at nothing causing issues with defrosting passengers window and issue with defrost on my main window on passenger side. All other vents blow out but that one makes a whistle noise and noting comes out. It's like it's blocked, I assumed it was just the car, after going over in a lane on my passenger side and hitting another vehicle because I could barely see out my window to view my mirror, I looked more into it and have since realized I'm not the only one, in fact multiple other complaints have been filed and Dodge has done nothing to fix this. Get it together!.
I have a 2012 Dodge Avenger v6 with only the driver side heat working. Upon further investigation as to what caused it there is sand partials in the cooling system from the sand forging of the motor and where there was not proper flushing of the cooling system before the assembly of the motor. It is a closed system so there is no way that sand partials can enter the system and cause that issue. Dodge believes there is no safety issue with it and it is a "creature comfort", but when in face the heat defrosts the windows to enable visibility. With no heat on the passenger side of vehicle the passenger side and some of the driver side is unable to defog, defrost, or melt any ice obstructing the view of the driver. This is not a driver issue, this is a manufacturing issue that needs to be resolved.
Passenger side defrost/vent defects. The defrost and heat/air on the passenger side are not working due to a manufacturers defect. I cannot see when the heat outside the car is too high or low and the window doesn't properly defrost due to cold air only coming out of the passenger side. Only cold air blows from the vents on the passenger side in both heat/air and regardless of settings. This occurs stationary and in motion, on the highway and while turning.
No heat on passenger side. Affects defrosting and creates a safety issue. ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
There is a manufacturing defect with the heating system that aids in keeping windows defrosted. Every vent on the passenger side only blows out cold air, while the drivers side is warm. The windshield & all windows in the passenger side will not defrost cause extreme visibility issues.
This safety issue effects visibility and passenger safety by failing to defrost/defog windows and keeping cabin tempuratures near or below freezing during cold weather (blowing cold air into the cabin).
Heater and defrost do not work on the passenger side of the car, leaving half of the windshield fogged up. This causes bad visibility on the left side of the car. Looking on the internet, this is a widespread problem with this vehicle (Dodge Avenger).
