Two problems related to steering rack and pinion have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer states that the vehicle makes a grinding/squeaking noise when driving on normal road conditions, the rack and pinion had to be replaced.
Steering pulling to the right, losing control of the car. Needs to replace the rack and pinion.
