Three problems related to transmission slip out of gear have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Transmission jumped out of gear while driving along the highway. The brake shoes were rubbed into the drum so badly that the drums had to be replaced. No indication of brake wear, noise, or stopping prior to this event.
Consumer driving and the transmission started making noise and it slipped out of gear, and wouldn't go into 3rd gear. Contacted dealer, and was told vehicle was not under warranty. Consumer will be responsible for the cost to fix it.
While driving the truck slipped out of drive into neutral. Please describe.
