2007 Dodge Caravan rear hatch problem. This problem first occurred in July of 2007 and is becoming worse. The rear hatch door seems to be effected by temperature. When it is hot the hatch will not open with the use of the electronic key fob or buttons located in the headliner above the driver. When it is cold the hatch will open appear to come to a stop in the open position and then on its own will close. It does not sense when a person or object is in the way and will continue to close. It will also close and reopen when you attempt to close the hatch electronically. All 3 of these conditions are when you are using the key fob or buttons located in the headliner above the driver. The car has been to the dealership 7 times and they have not been able to reproduce the problem or fix the problem. On 2 occasions they have cleared an error code in the computer but this has not fixed the problem. We have a friend who has a 2005 with the same problem. Unfortunately they have not attempted to have this problem fixed.
