The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Caravan. While driving approximately 60 mph, the contact noticed smoke emitting from the rear of the vehicle accompanied by an abnormal grinding sound. The contact exited the vehicle and upon inspection, noticed that the caliper had failed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostics or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Caravan. The contact stated that while driving 70 mph, the rear brakes engaged and started to smoke. The vehicle was inspected and the contact found that the rear calipers were sticking. As a result, the calipers, rotors and the rear brake pads needed to be replaced. The contact also mentioned that he replaced the brake fluid. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was no longer under warranty. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 37,918 and the current mileage was 46,654.
