41 problems related to electrical system have been reported for the 2011 Dodge Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The tipn is bad. We have several Dodge Caravans that have the same issue.
Sliding doors will open automatically as I'm driving. Heater stays stuck on on. While driving the van will shut off. Its a safety issue when I have 4 small children in the van with me.
Rear a/c evaporator is bad, needing replaced. Vehicle has 57000 miles.
All of sudden the the engine fails to run after I hit the switch to the cranking position. After multiple attempts the engine will run. This happens a multitude of times. I'm afraid the engine will stop all together and I can get stranded in the middle of nowhere. I've had the cam sensor changed, but the problem keeps going. Need help ASAP. I use my van to commute back and forth to my job. Help, please!.
Car randomly will not start, can randomly stalls as well. Been reading that it's related to the tipm but Chrysler won't issue a recall. They've issued recalls for the exact same year for the Dodge durango, why is this any different? highly frustrated for the consumer and dangerous for when our van has stalled while driving. Complete power loss.
I took the van to dealer ( at the tinme that it did turned on) spoke to a dealer man and he check through my VIN number if it was under warranty first (which is not) he mentioned to me that if I get the codes and the codes match I wouldnt be charged the diagnosticcharges. I took the van (mind you they know am a woman alone and van doesnt turn on) to auto zone got the codes. Once I got the codes print out, I got stuck bc the van would not turn on. With many attemps I mange to turn on and went straight home. The next day I took the van to the dealers and left it there over night. The codes happens to match and they told me they could fix van bc the cylinder head and 3 spark plugs where under warranty but the van takes 3 extra spark plugs and pressure sensor is malfuntion and needs to be replaced in order for van to work properly. I agree! the next day he calls me back to p/u van. I had one of the dealers pick me up at work, when I get there he charges me $124. 34 just for diagnostic and van wasnt fix to bring the next day bc the pieces neededto be order. I took van in the morning Jan 12 he said van would be ready Jan 14. Jan 14 he called me that van was ready. I go and even before they showed me van that it works, I had to pay $226. 63 in order for them to give me keys. When I go to get my van and turn on. . . . . The van did not turn on. . . Ofcourse I went in very upset and told them I wasnt living until van was fix. They gave me a rental yesterday Jan 14 and have not heard from them yet. Dodge company should remake all this cars bc they are cleary a piece of crap. Not only that but they are fast to charge $$$ instead of making sure the safety of the customer should be first. I am very dissapointent that I am in this situation and the van in from 2011 year is not old at all. What can Dodge do for me? I bet nothing.
Takata recall, van stopped on side of major highway and would not start, had van towed to an authorized dealorship who quoted an outraged price to fix van, said problem was the "tipm" modular faulty by which they have seen many, this is a safety problem that need to be recalled and the problem fix, with so many cars with same problem that's a big issue. Please help.
Dealership trying to have me replace battery and fuel pump even though they know what the problem is. Having to get the tipm replaced. Car wont start easily or at all. Shuts off by itself. Having to pay $1200 to get this fixed. Crooks!.
Faulty tipm module, car won't start, replaced battery, replaced spark plugs, added bypass, and now still will not start. Started in July with just the battery dying and then August the fuses blew and between September and November I have jumped it weekly. Now it is completly dead. Jumping the battery no longer works. One local Chrysler dealer states there is a 4-5 month wait due to parts recall, another dealer states there is no recall on my vehicle for this issue.
The tipm module was faulty, causing the fuel pump to either not engage when trying to start the vehicle, or cut out while the vehicle was in motion, other times the fuel pump would remain on after turning off the vehicle. . . Pumping gasoline fumes into our garage for long periods of time. Dodge refused to acknowledge that this was a tipm failure and instead tried to convince me to replace the fuel pump multiple times. . . We did replace the fuel pump once which had not affect on this issue.
For the past several weeks we have had intermittent problems starting our van. It will occasionally do nothing when the key is turned, it will also just turn over without starting. The second problem seemed to be getting progressively worse- meaning that it would take more attempts to crank it. This past weekend it would not crank after many attempts. After troubleshooting most of the day I realized that the fuel pump seemed to be working only every now and then. I found a website that instructed how to make a tester to determine if it was a fuel pump relay issue on the tipm. Sure enough we were able to determine that the relay was the issue. It certainly seems that I am one among many people that are having problems with the tipm. I hope that they recognize the severity of the problem and resolve it swiftly.
2011 Dodge Caravan, won't start and will die while driving. Occurs 95% of the time when starting or driving vehicle. Replaced fuel pump and problem was not fixed. Next thing to change is the relay or the tipm. Was a recall for other Dodge vehicles for the same issue.
Van wont start. After two weeks I have been told it was the tipm module that is defective and a estimate of over $1,200 to repair. I have seen all over the internet that this is a know problem to Chrysler. When is a recall going to be started?.
Tipm is defective, fuel pump relay overheats resulting in engine stopping ,can result in loss of control of vehicle, this is a wheelchair van not a good situation,Chrysler replaced part under policy warrenty ,would not stand behind labor cost to replace, this should be their responsibility as it is a safety issue.

After months of trying to get a recall taken care of, the dealer still says that the faulty switch, which can cause a fire is still not available, this is getting ridiculous.
We received a recall in or around December 2014 on our Dodge Caravan (2011). I called larry miller Dodge dealership on 2-6-2015 was informed that the parts are a month to a month in a half out to call back in six weeks. On 4-14-2015 I call larry miller Dodge dealership again and was told they still have nothing in to fix the recall. So I call same dealership on 5-2-2015 and was told that it is still on back order and they have no idea when it will be in. This is uncalled for-- it to be 6 months and nothing being done!.

The engine would only start after multiple attempts. I took it to the dealer and was advised that the tipm would need to be replaced. The tipm controls many of the systems -including the starting system and other safety systems. We were fortunate not to have the engine/power systems fail while the vehicle was being driven. This is a design/manufacturering issue that should be recalled. The vehicle no longer starts. We are waiting on the tipm to be backordered. The part price is $647 with another $175 for labor and $105 for diagnostic at the dealer.

It has been about 2 years when I contacted the car dealer with the notice you sent me. All they did was disconnected the rear windows but never connected them back. Still now they are disconnected. The dealer told me that they where going to call me as soon as the parts came in it is August 25, 2015 and still no answer from them. The last time I called them was in January left a messages but got no return call. What can I do since it is August and the rear windows are still disconnected. I have not been able to use them. They do not work. I don't think that they are still waiting for the parts. They ordered them but never installed them in my vehicle.

Vehicle would stall out on starting, then would not start at all. Cost $1800 to fix.
The check engine light comes on and goes off repeatedly. The van does not want to start 3 out of 5 times after it was just starting and running fine. The windows roll down on there own when the vehicle is locked. The sliding doors have opened on their own.
I have been sent several recall notices and have contacted dealer 4 times. They disconnected the rear quarter window but did not have part to repair. This last time I contacted they still do not have the (green light) part required to correct the problem. Seems to be a problem getting the part. They emailed an order to me for the part but they just did that. It has been months waiting on this part and I cannot recall the first time I received the first notification. I would really like to get this repaired so I can use the window. Thanx.
