2010 Dodge grand Caravan - emergency brake went out. During a typical parking of the vehicle, the emergency brake was applied, and went straight to the floor. The release no longer worked. Emergency brake had to be manually pulled up by hand to take vehicle off of emergency brake position.

Since a dealer did a complete brake job on my 2006 Dodge Caravan, the parking brake won't release sometimes. It always happens after the vehicle sits with the parking brake on and it rains. The dealer said it's due to the type of material the brake shoes are made of, (oem parts too) so don't use the parking brake when it rains?!.

Brakes on 2002 Dodge Caravan lock when parking brake is used overnight. When releasing parking brake in morning, unable to move vehicle forward or backward. In attempting to do so to get moving, after numerous attempts, customer will hear a loud pop noise and brakes free up. This is a continuing problem, not just one time. Took to the dealer and was told that the brakes were dirty. Was charged $168 when we did not proceed with "repairs" to be told that a headlight was out and that the brakes were dirty. We knew the headlight was out! and the brakes were not dirty. Have not returned to this dealer since (kendall in cottage grove, oregon).
The vehicle was parked on small incline, without any warning vehicle start roll backward. The vehicle finally stopped when it hit a utility poll. Dealer and manufacturer were notified.
