Consumer developed nausea, skin rash and respiratory distress with the suspicions that these symptoms were coming from the 2005 Dodge Caravan. Responded on 4-29-05 aae 10117170 the consumer believes that a product was used inside the vehicle prior to it being delivered to the consumer. The consumer had an independent laboratory conduct tests on he vehicle and concluded that a hazardous chemical called hexane was present.

This car has been nothing but problems. First I have had it to dealer 3 times with leaks which I find is currently a recall. Then one cold winter it started to make a loud reving noise from first start starter was replaced still does it dealer claims they cannot hear it. Then I have had several belts repaced due to squealing sound upon starting the car. Squealing is still there. They cannot hear it. Now I am having a vibrating sound in my steering and it sounds as if the steering is about to go. As other complaints have indicated. Is this car safe to drive?.

This started about a week ago and is intermittent. The speedometer sticks on a number usually between 0 and 10 mph, but the vehicle is going much faster than indicated. It bobbles up and down and then seems to function okay. It's going to the dealer this week.

The clock spring assembly that is housed in the steering column has failed due to a known design flaw. The assembly controls the deployment of the driver side airbag, the cruise control and the horn. As a result of this failure, I have an airbag notification light that stays on and both the cruise control and horn do not function. This specific item is the subject of a recent recall, however, my VIN# does not appear on the list of vehicles the manufacturer has determined prone to failure. As a result, I am liable for identical repairs without the benefit of redress.

This is a report of a design defect in the Dodge Caravan. After discussion, Chrysler corp. Has not admitted any issue and there is no recall applicable. The problem is the fact that the right front strut tower (supports vehicle) is rusting through. This is more than cosmetic and should not happen at any vehicle age / mileage. Ultimate failure will allow the right side of the vehicle suspension to fail with potential loss of control and loss of life. While driving about any mph engine service light will come on and off, but sometimes will stay on. Had taken vehicle to dealer, and the problem had not been fixed yet. Please provide more information.

I would like to know if the relay switch has been replaced. The part number is 4707286-c(64469)(0376ag) is this the original part from factory. I dont think the machinic replaced it. My van run hot 2 months after they were suppose to have replaced it.

After the last fix transmission still doesn't behave right, especialy under load or ever with a/c on - it slips in gear change.

Paint started to wear off the vehicle.

The van was taken on serveral occasions to be repaired and still has not been repaired. The dealer was contacted and would not help us get the matter resolved. We would like to know if the van was wrecked before our purchase.

"service engine soon" loght came on/failed. Yh.

Engine check light comes and the truck will stop in the middle of the road and will only be going 50-55mph. A couple of days later, the dealer said that is okay, and they cannot fix the problem. The enginecheck l ight stopped again, a day later after the owner had 339. 00 of service done.

At present we are without a car for 8 days this time. The car has been into the shop 9 times for the same problem. This time because we are in arbitration the dealership says that Chrysler wants them to try a few more things. They are not telling us what is wrong with the car but say that the are trying what the technicians are telling them to do. Last week we were told that a technician was going to come down and look at the van. On Friday we went to the dealership and were told that they were going to do this over the phone and that we could absolutely not have the car. They have our car and we are paying $50 a day.

The consumer found the generation 3 seat belt latches have been known to unbuckle, on some vehicles, while the vehicle was in motion. The consumer stated he didn't experience the incident with his vehicle, but it was scary to think that it has been known to happen. The vehicle was not built with a gear shift interlock. The consumer stated someone including a child could move the gear shift into drive or reverse without the ignition being on, or without stepping on the brake.
