* the ignition switch failed to release the key fob. I brought the car home after completing some repairs and sending the car through emissions testing to renew the plates. I made numerous attempts turning the car on and off and trying to get the key fob out of the ignition. The ignition off position would flash accessories the same as the accessory position. I was concerned to leave the car as there maybe a short that would draw down the battery or worse ? I locked the doors and left the key fob in the ignition. * yes- available for inspection. * safety issue was is there an electrical issue that would start the car on fire ? * the diagnosis was done by my performance and high end mechanic's shop. The battery in the key bob was changed while being stuck in the ignition to see if a low powered battery was failing to send a signal. No changes. The shop did inform me later in the day that they forced the fob to the left and was able to extract it from the ignition switch. * yes, inspected and review by my trusted mechanics shop. * no signs prior to the attempted removal of the key bof at the finish of returning to my home.

Mileage 61113 . Car moves forward 15 feet an goes into neutral . When pulling into traffic this is a serious safety problem . A major accident which could be loss of life might occur . Enterprise car sales will not acknowledge o show any concern . They offered a 12 month or 12000 mile limited warranty free and implied I should have paid for an expensive warranty. Their carfax report showed that they did not comply with service information from the manufacturer for the transmission . As such I have been taken advantage of . I will now have to pay about $1000 to have the service completed . This problem also is happening on their Dodge pick up trucks.

One day after driving home from work there was a message that says low battery voltage on the instrument panel, then it went away. No other warning lights or problems. Ten more miles down the road the message says battery saver mode, reduced functions and then the car started to smoke, I am freaked out at this point praying to make it home safely. I arrive home and pull into driveway and then turn engine off and let it cool. Lift the hood and coolant has sprayed and spewed all over the engine compartment and is significantly reduced. Now parked, engine off the shift lights are still on and navigation panel and radio won't turn off. I had to unplug the battery completely and manually lock the car. The next day I replace the battery, check coolant, and allow car to warm up. No warning lights or messages. Then I start to drive and less than ten min, battery saver mode again, reduced function and power then engine smoking again, coolant spraying under hood and I have no idea what's wrong. Could it be the alternator, everything is still factory parts. Never happened when I changed the battery in 2022. This is scary.

I purchased this vehicle from vroom, who is also my lender under united auto credit. The car was sold with a washed title and undisclosed prior structural and mechanical damage. I have documentation confirming the vehicle had serious pre-existing issues and should never have been sold as a clean-title car. The differential has failed three times in under 6 months, and I’ve experienced full drivetrain failure following multiple service visits to Dodge. I had requested inspection of the transmission, but after every visit, the issues worsened. The vehicle is currently available for inspection. The car exhibits violent vibrations, power loss, and unpredictable handling, making it unsafe to drive at highway speeds. The differential is on the verge of catastrophic failure again. These issues risk loss of vehicle control, wheel lock up, and potential collisions. Has the issue been confirmed by a dealer or service center? yes. Dodge dealerships have confirmed repeated differential failure and ongoing drivetrain problems. Independent shops have also verified signs of prior impact and poor repairs. Has the vehicle been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? it has been brought to authorized Dodge service centers at least six times and is the subject of an open Dodge customer care case (7+ months). No police or insurance inspections at this time. This vehicle was fraudulently sold with hidden damage and has presented major, repeated safety hazards. I am asking the NHTSA to investigate not only this vehicle, but the broader pattern of dangerous sales by vroom/united auto credit and Dodge, including title washing and stalling tactics to run out factory warranties before resolution.
While backing into my driveway garage I heard a loud bang and my car's transmission lost its linkage to the drive shaft. The car rolled forward regardless of shifting the car in park, reverse, neutral, drive, etc. I had to stop the car with my brakes and then park the car with my emergency brake enabled to stop the car from rolling on its own. A driver could easily be killed by not reacting right to the car when it loses its driving shaft. The driver yoke looks like it could be part of the problem. The car is currently at the transmission repair shop for repair and a safety investigation.

Center bond of crankshaft damper falling-off front of engines on the highway due to defective bonding material in manufacturing causing failure in rubber bonding. At highways speeds, a 10lb chunk of metal will fall-off hemi engines & create a flying projectile at other motorists on the road causing damage or death to other vehicles/drivers and/or pedestrians. Owners who are unaware of this safety-issue will be unaware that their crankshaft-damper has fallen off due to not realizing a piece of the engine is now missing, thus creating possibility of engine failure due to no vibration dampening any longer attached to the crankshaft pulley.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she heard an abnormal ticking sound emanating from the engine compartment. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
On my way to work on 9/28/23 my 2019 Dodge Challenger hellcat redeye engine just shut off at 65mph. I was in the left lane by the wall on i45 heading northbound. I instantly had a loss of power steering and braking. The engine just shut off. A check engine light came on and the dash said shift I to park to start. I was successfully able to get across 4 lanes of traffic to stop on the apron between o ram and side of freeway. When I shifted to park and to try to restart it would not start. Had to be towed to dealership where upon inspection they said the motor was locked. When broken down a valve just dropped into the cylinder and jammed into the piston and cylinder wall. Pieces also damaged the head and the supercharger and dealer says starter is fried. Mopar is digging in and acting like this isn’t an issue but online there are several class actions and forums about defective valve system in these engines. Had I been a novice driver or my wife with children jn the car she would likely not been able to get off to a safe place and stalled dead in the fast lane of a very busy houston roadway.
While turning onto another street transmisson went into neutral. Car would`nt accelerate, almost reared by another car. Car is at dealership now, they say it needs new transmission. Only has 70,000 miles on it.
Was taking off from a red light, got to about 15 mph and there was a loud bang and I felt it from under the car. It then felt like I was dragging something under the car, but that couldn't be as I was behind another car and if there were something in the road, they would have hit it. I managed to pull over to the side of the road. I put it in park and tried to turn it off. It wouldn't turn off and the "p" on the shifter was blinking and so was the "run" light. It was at that point smoke started coming from under the hood. I grabbed my belongings from the passenger compartment, but couldn't open the trunk. It was then that flames started showing. I got away from it and started calling 911. Just then a police car arrived and they radioed for fire. It was afterwards I noticed that from the place it happened, to the spot I was able to stop, there was a long line of transmission fluid and when they towed the burned car, there was lots of transmission fluid. The car had low mileage and maintained as required. It was still under extended warranty. I contacted Chrysler customer care and they had the car "inspected" but found nothing to have gone wrong and that fires happen. This is wrong and unfair as there was a major mechanical issue that resulted in a fire and the loss of my vehicle. If this had happen a couple minutes earlier, I would have been on the freeway and certainly would have crashed and possibly died.
The contact owns a 20212 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to accelerate above 40 mph as the traction control warning light appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the traction control sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the nthsa. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
2016 Dodge Challenger 39,900 miles. Drive train completly broken off. My safety and others steering problems. Sudden lack of power to tires. This car is driven very little and is driven like a grandma. This drive train should never had been and issue. There should be recalls on this. I am having to pay $2500 to get it replaced. The only warning I had was I noticed it wasn't powering like it should or turning like it should. Even though its 7 years old, the mileage on it proves its a well taken care of vehicle.
I was entering onto the highway and accelerating up to speed. When the car suddenly jerked multiple times, the vehicle did not accelerate, but the rpms redlined. I then lost power while entering the highway. The vehicle would not restart, so I pulled onto the shoulder of the interstate. Almost being hit multiple times by other motor vehicles. I attempted to restart the car without any success. The vehicle was towed home to my residency, until I could have it towed to a mechanics shop for further diagnoise. The vehicle has not restarted in over 3 weeks now.

The drive shaft carrier bearing has disintegrated causing the drive shaft to bounce all around unsupported in the drive shaft tunnel. The carrier bearing is located in the middle of the two piece drive shaft. This could cause the drive shaft to break and fly out from under the rear of the car and smashing into the car behind and causing a serious or possible fatal accident, or if the drive shaft drops down towards the front of the car this could this could dig into the road causing the rear of the car to flip up causing a serious or fatal accident. There are no warning lites or indicator. This is happening in many 2016 Dodge Challengers. You can find this out throughout searching in any Dodge websites.

Driveshaft failed at 58. 000 miles. It almost snapped from it's place.
The gen iii hemi has an inherent design flaw in which the rollers making contact with the camshaft will fail, causing damage to the camshaft and causing the engine to misfire. This is due to the camshaft being moved away from the crankshaft as it causes oil starvation. After extensive research it appears to affect cars of various miles and workload. There is no single cause that makes this happen other than a grievous design flaw. The main complaint is that you experience total power loss at higher revs, making it dangerous to drive on the interstate or attempting to merge into traffics as the engine begins to shudder and lose most power. Whether it’s 40k miles or 110k miles, the flaw does not discriminate. After numerous attempts to reach Chrysler technical service on how to prevent this, I’ve been ignored and case numbers deleted. Now this is very important. This causes a misfire which not only destroys catalytic converters, but arrives with no notice. It’s very possible someone may be attempting to pass someone on the interstate and suddenly lose power. My mechanic inspected it and confirmed that the rollers failed, causing causing lifters to not make proper clearance. This needs to be investigated as this engine is in millions of cars. And even if 1% of these failure occur on an interstate, the potential for fatalities is absolutely nothing to ignore. I kindly ask that this matter be investigated. As not everyone can afford the 5k to fix this problem like I can. And due to its high prevalence in trucks, this could cause those who use their trucks for work to be put in a tight spot. I understand normal wear and tear, but by no means should a cam and valve train fail this soon in a car. Giving the gen iii hemi by Chrysler and their infamous timing chain defect, I believe this is also a dangerous flaw and something Chrysler ignored. Hoping it would outlast warranties. Best regards.
The transmission/drive shaft thumps and the car "lurches" upon start-up. This is somehow related to the push button start. My car is also equipped with a factory remote start and no noise is heard, nor does the car lurch on start-up. Please refer to video link: https://youtu. Be/srqjcjpl4ma.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated while driving the vehicle at various speeds, there was a loud noise coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the driveshaft replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 49,700.

The center support carrier bearing for the driveshaft has failed, causing the driveshaft to drop, rub the heat shield causing a bad noise, the rear end is swaying, and there are mobility issues. I know of other people that have the same problem. You cannot replace the center bearing. You have to purchase the whole driveshaft/driveline, which becomes an even bigger problem when they are on national backorder! my Challenger has less than 98,000 miles. I have no other vehicle. This is a widespread problem. The whole part costs over $1100.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Challenger. The contact stated that while her husband was driving out of the driveway at approximately 20 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated and drove for approximately 3/4's of a mile downhill. The driver stated that the brakes failed to slow the vehicle. Additionally, the driver was unable to shift gears to slow the vehicle. The contact stated that her husband was unable to control the vehicle and crashed into some trees. The air bags deployed. The contact stated that her husband sustained bruises and scratches to his left arm and also sustained injuries to his back and neck. The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance to seek medical attention. The contact was unsure if a police report was filed since the failure occurred on a private road. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed, nor repaired. Neither a dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
I bought a Dodge Challenger. The place I bought it is huntington beach Dodge ram Jeep dealer. I got out of the dealer and the shaft of the car was out of the way, I was almost having an accident. I went back to the dealer and explained the situation. They told me to give the car to the service. I said I did not want to service the car at 50 miles. I asked them to give me a new one of the same car. No, we can't give you a car because they said you bought cash and got a discount. I left the car to the service 3 days ago. Still nobody informed me. When they repaired my vehicle, I don't want to get on that vehicle, I have a child, I'm afraid. I want them to give me a new one of the same car.

I purchased a 2015 Challenger, upon driving the vehicle home noticed the axles making a noise. A week later the noise becomes worse I alert the dealership and bring the car in. They tell me that it's covered under warranty and they promise that when I finalize financing the will fix it. Upon finalizing financing the car fails inspection and the warranty is removed due to the preexisting issues with the car. Thus resulting repair cost coming out my pocket for a car I hadn't had a week. Next I run into a issue the with engine. I take it to get a diagnostic and the technician shows me the history of the car stating that it had a replacement engine installed in the past. The dealer never mentioned the repairs to me before finalizing the deal once so ever. Now I brought it to their attention and they're telling me that I can trade it in but there's nothing they can do. The dealership is rick hendricks Chevrolet in duluth georgia, 3277 satellite blvd. The dealership goes up and beyond to avoid me, even while the car was in their possession for repairs for weeks. They never fixed anything in the car. I have video proof of them messing up the car and just leaving it for me to deal with. I also have voice recorded conversations with sales associate managers at the dealership who lied to me and my father in our faces about certain information regarding the deal.
P1dab-00,u1412,p0716. Vehicle has shown codes above for 5 plus months. Codes cause vehicle to shift between gear randomly. I have taken vehicle to dealership but probably was not resolved; the dealership stated the problem was the speed sensor, so the switched them out only to find out later it was not the problem. Vehicle is unsafe; on one occasion the vehicle shift from the 8th gear to the 3rd while on the freeway almost causing an accident. Please resolve issue before someone is gravely injured.
I wanted to report that I was injured on 10/6/2020. When my 2017 v6 Challenger went out of gear from "park" and drug me down, as it rolled backwards (while in "park"). I sustained multiple injuries all over my body. I went to the e. R. And followed up with primary doctor. I also have an appointment with an orthopedist. I am writing to urge you to please recall and fix the 2017 v6 Challengers for peoples safety. I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else. Thank you very much for taking care of this issue.
Pilot bearing failure due to misalignment of transmission shafts causing vibrations in drive wheels causing possible loss of traction.
