1 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated the gear shift selector would not shift out of the park position. The vehicle was towed to the contact's place of residence. The dealer was contacted who advised there was a lever in the shifter box that potentially fractured and caused the failure. The dealer advised that the entire gear shift would need to be replaced at the contact's expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were approximately 103,000.

2 Automatic Transmission Floor Shift problem

Failure Date: 07/26/2007

My center console shifter of my 2006 Dodge Charger rt, has a malfunction. It will not let me out of park. When I try to release it with the manual override button, it will not release either. Also when the vehicle is turned off and the car is still in gear, it will not allow the vehicle to go into park. This poses a larger problem if there is an accident and that part breaks.
