general problems of the 2006 Dodge Charger - part 1

I was almost rear-ended by a semi when the vehicle stalled at a light while picking my son up from work. It seems to stall at stop signs or waiting at lights completely. It stalls while idling here and there sometimes. Sometimes when driving on the e-way it jerks as it wants to stall but not completely. The main codes that pop up is u0100. Sometimes p0700 pops up and then sometimes the u0100 pops up along with a bunch of other codes. This has just started happening with my previous 2006 Dodge Charger 5. 7 which has happened once or twice and a u0100 code pops up when scanned. I've scoured the internet for solutions and notice. There's a lot of people going through this similar situation and it so happens to be the 2006 year that's plagued with this problem. Even getting a new pcm doesn't solve the problem. Whomever is in charge of the Dodge company needs to figure out the exact cause of this problem before a driver/passengers gets injured or killed in an accident because of it. Please put some fire under their butt.

My 2006 Dodge Charger rt v8 5. 7 keep stalling after I put gas in and shut off while I'm driving and when I pull over and it start right back up I'm really concerned about my safety because it done that multiple times on my way to work and after work.

The vehicle is stalling,jerking and hesitating after filling up gas tank. This has happened on multiple occasions.

It cuts off when I'm driving it slows down and I have to tryin get over . And it takes almost a 1. 5 hours before it cranks back up. That can cause a car crash.

While driving on a city street I stopped at a stop sign and the car accelerated on it's own without me pushing on the gas/accelerator.

There is a recall k#39 for 2005-2007 Dodge Chargers for when the car will not leave the parked position. Even though this is what is going on with my car the dealership is saying my car is not covered in this recall. My main concern is they are unable to provide me with the 2005 and 2006 dates of cars that were affected!. I want clarification of why my car is not covered when it fits every description in the recall. They had me tow my car to the dealership and now saying I have to pay for it to be fixed.

My 2006 Dodge Charger daytona will stall while driving. Also while sitting at a stop light or sign. It happens during random times.

Power shuts off randomly, stalling, acceleration lost, but will fire right back up if you flip the key around or put in neutral. Very unsafe if traffic coming and it shuts right down. Also while in park it's shuts off.

-the sunroof will not always close all the way. It will reopen itself upon exiting -my car stalls often whenever I accelerate, it seems the gas has to "catch up" this uncomfortable/unsafe. ) home. On my 2006 Dodge Charger, an unprecedented mechanical problem happened with the ignition. It is unprecedented as it worked perfectly prior to the incident. The ignition will only turn from 'off' to 'a/c' and finally to 'on' but it will not turn any further to 'start'. This means the engine can not be started. With further research, it becomes apparent that same generation Chargers and magnums are affected by the same problem, with owners reporting problems with the actuator pin. My car is stationary and as of late can't move with an outside source.

Car shuts off without warning while in motion after filling gas tank. Power steering goes out as well. Very dangerous as the driver has no warning. . .

The vehicle is stuck in park this issue has happened to many other Dodge and Chrysler cars. There is a limited recall but does not apply to my VIN I have spoken with fca us lls and filed a complaint this issue is a serious safety issue if you happen to park on a roadside and cant get it to go into gear.

Why would Dodge be allowed to manufacture a vehicle without a cabin air filtration system built in? this should be a recall as insects, debris, exhaust, pollen and other allergens constantly enter vehicles without this critical health safety component.

Some days you come out and crank vehicle and it just cuts off on you will you run down the road it makes a beep noise and cuts off on you if you stop at a light it cuts off on you this happens recently almost everyday.

I parked vehicle. When I stepped on the brake to shift the gear, it would not move. Also when I blow the horn it gets stuck or does not work at all after airbags were replaced because of recall. Car has been sitting in a parking lot since.

Car keeps stalling randomly at stops. It will even stall while driving going up hills or on the highway. Most times it will not completely stall (studder) and continue on. If it does stall completely, sometimes takes a lot of effort to try and restart the engine. Check engine light will sometimes come and randomly turn off. Dtc shows p0700 and u0100. Lots of others having similar problems. Just google codes and look at all Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep forums.

My 2006 Charger rt just stops for no reason when I'm at a red light or as simple as a stop. Cant find a recall it's very dangerous don't know why it's not a recall. I took it to the Dodge dealership and they count find a the problem and gave up and gave the car back.

Car was in motion then shut completely off when turning into an intersection on s a a city street and started right back up and do the same thing again three days later with no engine fault code or no warning at all.

The car keeps stalling while driving at any speed and also at at complete stop. Like a red light or stop sign. I love my car but Chrysler needs to do something about this dangerous issue. I don't understand, with this being a common issue with the 06 model. Why isn't there a recall on these cars. I only have 62k on it and I keep up with the maintenance. My 2006 Dodge Charger keep stalling while driving. I was sitting at a light getting to ready to turn and the car stopped in the middle of the turn. Thankful it was a turn signal or I would have been hit. Also the engine light come on and the car just stalls then - you can wait about 5 min. And it will start back up. Upon doing my research I am unsure to why their has not been a recall. I was on the highway and it starts to stall then I hit the gas and it keeps going.

Car engine shuts down at highway speeds momentarily and back on a couple of times engine shut completely off had to pull over to the side of the road engine restarts no fault lights come on after searching the internet I find that this problem has been around for a while very dangerous if Dodge has addressed this problem I find no recalls it should be taken care of as soon as possible this has been going on for quite a while on my vehicle today being the latest episodes Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Key switch.

My car will stall when stopped or coming to a stop. Starts right back up. This is a concern for safety for myself and other vehicles on the road. I have seen so many other complaints about this on the internet, I don't understand why it has not been recalled and taken care of.

My vehicle has a problem with the Mini catalytic converter. There is recalls for other VIN # but my VIN # is not part of the recall since my vehicle was build after March 2006. Even though its the same vehicle problem the recall doesn't cover my vehicle. I will like an investigation regarding this matter.

After filling the gas tank up car stalls within minutes on busy hiway interstate and it fluids out where you are stuck in traffic ive had plenty of mechanics to look at the far and they cant detect the problem I need some assistance with this issue are I'm gonna end up causing a bad wreck with the issue of my car please contact me 2516441589.

Car continues to cut off while driving, makes a lot noise and all the lights on dash cut on and does not move when in gear.

Vehicle stalls while in motion, engine stalls shuts itself off on start up or while in motion in traffic. Leaving me with no power to control the vehicle. This has been an ongoing problem for over a year starting in January of 2016. Dodge dealership cannot find why it stalls even though it stalled on them while they had it in there shop. The reason for the stall is unknown . Normal vehicle servicing is up to date but the car stalling continues to be a problem.

I was leaving a store and started my car. Everything seemed normal, but the car would not shift out of park. I had to leave the car and came home and found a multitude of information on this problem with this particular model car. I also found out how to take the console apart to get in and shift the car without the shifting lever, so I was able to get it home and drive it to the dealership. The dealership told me that this VIN is not included in the recall for this exact problem for "certain 2005-2007 Dodge Chargers, magnums, and 300s. " I had them repair it for $155. The dealership shared with me that they service 4-5 vehicles a week with this identical problem that were not included in the recall for this problem. That is in greensboro nc, which is not a super-large market but is not a tiny market either. I would like for someone to explain to me in detail why my specific car was not included in the recall.

I bridget wilson was driving 37 mph I come to stop light light turns green before I could put foot on gas car shut off this the 3rd time 2 months prior I was make a right turn car just shut off that the 2nd time 3rd time I drove to mall and to bakery dropped off my friend on my way home at light in traffic car just stopped. My whole dash board lights up all the little gage' the little points they go back and forth on everything the light flash on everything on the dash sometimes it will keep going sometimes it will just stop its really scary. Even more scary with my 4year old daughter. I have been lucky so far with no spending cars or trucks behind me and when there is I change lanes so if my car stop's again I don't want me or daughter or husband to get hurt or even worst . Gear shifter is stuck on park won't let me shift to another gear been parked all night woke up this morning togo to work only to experience this terrible surprise.

My car was stuck in park. Upon reviewing my problems online I realized there is a known recall for this make/model of my car :customer satisfaction notification k39transmission shifter interlock lever. I called the dealership to have the repair and was told my vehicle was not included. Advised to call Chrysler and was told the same thing. My car was repaired by the dealership at my expense for the exact recall work. This is unacceptable. Chrysler need to expand the recall to included all Dodge Chargers from 2005-2007 not "some" models.

Engine shuts off at any speed. Spent over $6,000 at dealership still has same problem. Very very dangerous at freeway speeds lose of power steering and power brakes when the engineshuts down. Will restart and drive after malfunctioning.

I had just tanked up the car with premium unleaded, pulled out and came to a stop at light . The car surged and shut off, I placed it in park restarted it. Then driving again 2mins later the car started stall I put it in (n) revved the engine. I had to stop at light and the engine again shut off,, put in (p) restarted it and before reaching home it started to stall again, but I was able to keep it running until home this trip was only 4miles.

I was stopped at a red light and my light turned green but I was yielding to turn left when I stepped on the gas and my car stalled in the center of the intersection. I quickly turned off the car and re started it and it turned back on. I was able to get out of the intersection before I was hit. I was extremely scared. And since then it seems to stall a lot when l am idling at a light or at a drive through window. This is extremely annoying and dangerous. Please help me.

The gear shift to put the car in gear is stuck and its keeps the car from coming out of park. You have to press the release button to put the car in drive.
