While driving car constantly cuts off and it's vary dangerous.
I purchased this car 2 years ago with the title, just having it at my parents house because I have another car. I drove it back to memphis on the highway and it jerked, cut the car off turn it back on it drives no more than 30 mph. Got a reading at 2 different auto zones, and got a tune up, oil change, and wire coils that go with the car. Still the same problem. So I drive the car back to my parents house a hour away from memphis and it's going slow, so of course law enforcement had some questions that almost allowed me to get the car towed at the times with the coronavirus going on as well. . So, after I get my slow car out the impound, I looked on cars. Com and I see a previous recall on my car that I didn't see at the time or purchase or had any idea of, that might be a little to late to fix even though these the exact same problems I'm having at this present moment. My car jerks back when trying to put it in the reverse or drive. So, I go back to autozone, in the little town because now I'm afraid to move my car because of the danger it's in. Autozobe don't want to do the reading so I do it myself because they're not allowed to get into people cars at this time. So, keep in mind I've got the work done to the car and I'm coming back to confirm that I did do those things. The man who worked at autozone told me it was something with my wiring, and to take it back to the dealership because they cannot find the part needed in the store I seen it with my own eyes the screen turn blank. Took it to Dodge, they just replace the air bags, and of course offer to make me spend money. I told them about the previous recall on my car and no one helped even though there is a maximum 10 years. But if these cars are still selling and being used there shouldn't be any time frame for the problem to be fixed because the car is now unsafe and unusable, and the owner out of money.
My son was driving the car and was at the stop light. When the light turned green and he hit the gas to go the car stalled and it started smoking from under the trunk and within seconds was in flames. My son had to jump out the passenger side for safety reasons. The fire department went and turned the fire out. We have no idea why it went up in fire. We were driving it all morning and my son drives it to school with no issues.
I was driving my car when all of a sudden flames were coming from under the hood on the driver side. I pulled over, got out and called 911. By the time the fire department put out the fire, my car was totaled. There must have been a defect somewhere under the hood. It may have been the engine which I had to replace at 66,841 miles for over $8,000. I got no warnings on the dash, just fire from under the hood.
Transmission shifter interlock lever failed reference k39.
A recall was issued in 2011 for shift interlock levers for vehicles that were manufactured beginning in June 2007 (recall # k39). The symptom was customers not being able to shift their vehicles from the park position. My vehicle was manufactured in February 2007. I was told by Dodge customer service that my was made before the date allowed. I would like to inquire whether the component affecting these vehicles was added after my vehicle was manufactured or is it the same. If it is the same please allow the earlier vehicles to fall under this recall also. Thank you. My vehicle was stationary in the driveway.
The gear column shifter will not come out of park.
2007 Dodge Chargers and I replaced the starter and still did not start up I was told it is posibly the win module.
My 2006 Dodge Charger r/t with the 5. 7l hemi stalls while driving after refueling at a gas station. It's a safety hazard to myself and others due to it stalling while driving at any speed.
07 Dodge Charger rt radiator cooling fan broke apart while car was in motion down city street at low speed. Car instantly overheated to danger zone cutting coolant hose causing a loss of coolant.
Takata recall.
The car stopped in middle of freeway it moves in motion without feet on gas.
My 2007 Dodge Charger with 98,000 miles just threw a cooling fan blade through the radiator while the vehicle was in motion, leaving me on the side of a busy highway. I know this is a re-occurring issue because I am on the city council for a small suburb of houston and we had several police cars do the same thing. Since this is a known defect that could leave the driver broken down in a dangerous situation (inclement weather, late at night, bad part of town), I believe it should be recalled. The repair costs a little under $1,000 to replace the radiator and cooling assembly.
The car starts up and then shuts down when gear is put in drive. It has shut down while in drive a few times in the past but started back up without incident. This time the car was parked for over 4 hours but would start up but shuts down when gear is put in drive. It has also shut down after making a right turn into another lane ( almost caused me to be hit from behind ).
Vehicle will not shift into gear and is stuck in park. This happened as I was preparing for family to come over labor day weekend. I've determined this is due to a broken shift interlock latch which is a common problem and a recall has been issued for. I contacted Dodge/Chrysler and was told that my 2007 Dodge Charger is not included in the recall though the issue is exactly the same and they informed me that it would need to be repaired at my cost and then if my vehicle is later included in a recall, I would be reimbursed. I've read of many Dodge owners experiencing this same issue where they have the exact issue but are excluded within the recall years. This needs to be corrected as their understanding of the scope is not capturing the complete spectrum. How do we get included into the recall? if Dodge/Chrysler will not stand behind their products, especially for a simple plastic part that breaks, then I certainly don't foresee myself ever buying another Dodge/Chrysler. Very disappointing and frustrating to say the least. Thank goodness there is a temporary work around in order to still be able to drive the vehicle. Lease help!.
The ignition switch assembly quit working and the car would not start. All other electrical components worked properly.
I was exiting a parking lot. I had my foot on the brake waiting to exit and make my left hand turn. I had my windows up and a/c on. While the car was stationary there was a big bang under my hood and I started to smell coolant. I drove my car to a repair shop and was told one of my cooling fans broke, sending a blade into my radiator causing severe damage to it.
On the above date during inspection of vehicle it was determined the vehicle has abnormal frame rot causing the vehicle to be unsafe. Vehicle is a police car. The town to south five miles and town to east 2miles has same cars since discovered identical rot. Another town 25 miles has same problem (all police cars) I have spoke with Dodge and then are aware and offering to pay half to repair. These are very popular cars for law enforcement and models run 06-10. I feel this dangerous issue especially for police use that needs to be addresses. I find is all to interesting that four cars with 25 miles has same issue make all cars not serviceable . All town are small police dept and loss of these cars in hurting our efforts to provide for the community. Dodge has given our dept 30 days to accept offer.
I was driving my 2007 Dodge Charger and my motor was lock-up. I did not know for sure till I took it to Dodge and I had to pay them for this service. Although they did tell me how much it would cost for another motor 8500 like really. Furthermore, the problem was the cooling system which gave no sign or warning til the engine lock-up. Therefore I purchased a use engine same year and model for my 5. 7 hemi motor which Dodge refuse to give a warranty on but they make them. Sad. I bought a new radiator clean/flushed my cooling system. Now the same thing happened to the motor I just was able to put in same problem cooling system. Please help or let me trade my car in. I honestly think Dodge should recall these cars because they built some poor motor and expect hard working people to pay for their poor judgement in building these pretty car.
While my car was idling the electric cooling fan came apart and the fan blades impaled into my radiator. Luckily it happened right after I cranked the car and before I got on the interstate. I learned that Chrysler is aware of this problem and will pay for some cars to be repaired. This is in customer satisfaction notice l-08 from Chrysler. I was told my car fit the criteria of this notice, year, make, model, etc. Except the notice says "severe duty" fan module and according to the man on the phone my car has a "heavy duty" module. My car did exactly what the other cars that were covered did. So basically Chrysler is saying it is acceptable for my fan to come apart and sling pieces into my radiator and no telling what else because my hemi 5. 7 has a heavy duty piece on the fan but it is not acceptable for the severe duty piece on the same car to do it. This could have been a dangerous situation if it had happened at 70 mph and for the notice to have been written in the first place someone was aware of that. This notice or recall may need to be expanded before someone gets hurt.
Unsafe vehicle due to airbag inflator housing not being replaced though recalled many months ago by manufacturer. Chrysler corporation is giving us no updates as to when the proper parts will be ready for immediate service. . . . This is highly unacceptable! the daily anxiety they are putting consumers through is ridiculous. They tell us don't drive the car if you are concerned but we have to use these vehicles to drive to work etc. . . Please try to find out where they are in solving these critical problems ! I have asked both the local dealer and the national Chrysler corp and neither will provide an answer!.
My 07 Dodge Charger r/t stalls randomly causing lost of power and steering wheel lock. Very dangerous on the highway, me and my family could of been killed. I would like this to be a recall as all Dodge dealerships are saying its not a recall. I found on many forums with people dealing with the stall issue on the vehicle the appropriate action is to reflash the power control module, but the dealership refuse and tells me to call Chrysler where they as well refuse. I am getting tired of Dodge this has happen to me about 7 times since my purchase in July 2014. Please help NHTSA.
The pink gearshift latch broke and caused the car to be stuck in park. Calling the recall center found out that this part was recalled a certain vins mine not included they refuse to fix on the internet their are 1000s in same situation as me stuck in park because Chrysler only chose certain vins with exact same pink part to be replaced!!.
When in gear and vehicle is moving, reverse and drive, the vehicle will sieze, causing loss of steering and speed. While this vehicles VIN number is not recognized on the recall list, we have had several recall problems with the vehicle which Dodge did except responsibilty for by paying the repair cost. I want to document that 3 body shops including a certified Dodge dealer cannot diagnose this vehicles seizing problem. This is the fourth time it is going into the shop for seizing while in gear. If someone is injured in this vehicle when it malfunctions I hold Dodge Jeep and Chrysler fully labial for negligence and possible conspiracy of current knowledge of vehicles with faulty equipment and failure to document all such vehicles by leaving their VIN numbers off the recall forms.
It was a hot day over 90f. I started the car. The speedometer cluster did not work. All the lights including engine light, esp, break, traction control was on. I turned the car off and restarted with the same issue. I let the engine warm up and then restarted the car with the same issue. I started to drive home, the instrument cluster did not work, speedometer showed 0mph. I took it to a local mechanic, he told me to re-flash the computer and change the speedometer cluster.
Vehicle shift interlock latch is broken. The latch allows the vehicle to shift from gear to gear or will prevent the shifting. After researching the issue, it was learned the piece was a recall piece but according to Dodge only on certain vehicles and our vehicle does not meet the standards required for recall. Although Dodge just simply ships the same item to various location across the world, our vehicle was built in the area that does not afford recall status; eventhough it was built with the exact same part. I was informed to put in a complaint by the Dodge phone representative. I was also told our vehicle has no recall although I found 3 on this site alone.
Started my 2007 Dodge Charger, went to put car into reverse and was unable to. Car remains in park and unable to move it. Apparently there is a recall on 2006-2007 Dodge Charger, but only selected VIN's, mine was built August 24, 2006 so even though I'm having the same issue as the cars built later my car is not covered under the recall. I am upset, and after research apparently I am not the only one that this has happened to. All 2006-2007 Dodge Chargers should be covered!!!! I am upset!!! I want the recall to be re-opened to cover all the cars regardless of when they were built during 2006-2007. It's apparently the "brake shift interlock".
Check engine light on failed inspection code p1004 many 3. 5l 6cyl engines are having same problem no TSB no recall big repair cost.
Engine suddenly shut off while driving. It started back up and 2 miles shut off for the 2nd time. No warning, no rough running. Drove approx. 35 miles with no further problems. The computer showed code p0443 2 times and c121c once.
Started my 2007 Dodge Charger, went to put car into reverse and was unable to do so. Car remains in park and unable to move it. Apparently there is a recall on 2006-2007 Dodge Charger, but only selected VIN's on the cares built between June-September 2007, mine was built may 2007 so even though I'm having the same issue as the cars built 1 month later my car is not covered under the recall. I am upset, and after research apparently I am not the only one that this has happened to. All 2006-2007 Dodge Chargers should be covered!!!! I am upset!!! The transmission shifter interlock lever was recalled on 2005 - 2007 Dodge and Chrysler vehicles, however after contacting Dodge directly I was told my vehicle was not covered because it was not built during the years of the recall. Once the lever is broken, you're unable to put your car into gear. The same issue that was recalled for the other years of these vehicles has happened to my car. And from the research I've done online there are hundreds if not thousands of other complains with the same issue. I contacted 3 different dealerships and it's going to cost approximately $390 to have the plastic lever replaced with the metal lever that's being used now. I feel as though this is a known issue with Dodge and Chrysler and therefore should be covered by the manufactory. This could be very dangerous as the car will not go into gear if the lever breaks, and can cause a person to be stranded. If I needed to get away from someone in a life or death situation I would not have been able to leave in my car because of this defect. I believe Dodge and Chrysler should revisit this recall and extend to all cars it affect. My car is a 2007 Dodge Charger, however it was built in 2006 therefore it does not "qualify" for the recall.
On 09/23/2013 at about 7am I was driving to work about 20 miles upon arrival the vehicle started smoking from under the hood. I parked and inspected the vehicle and found some water leaking from the radiator, I let the engine cool for about 4 hours and at lunch went out and added water to the vehicle as I added the water it poured directly out. I further inspected the vehicle and found that all seven radiator fan blades had separated from the main housing that was intact and not loose or distorted and impelled themselves through the radiator. I researched this issue and found that Dodge had a service bulletin csn-l08 issued in 2011 for the Dodge magnum and other vehicles. When I contacted them they advised I was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. I do not feel this is a warranty issue if it has happened in 2011 and still happening in 2013 and should be investigated further if someone is working on one of these vehicles and the fan blades come apart. This could cause bodily injury with the force it impelled them through the radiator. There should be a recall of this fan part #24040406 manufacture date 1/10/06 and a reimbursement program for those individual's who have had to replace these items.
Vehicle would not shift out of park. The key interlock and brake engagement system had to be disabled in order to drive the car. This is a well known problem that Chrysler is well aware of. Consumers are disabling the safety features so that they do not have to spend $150 to $600 in repairs.
I have not had my car for a year. My gears are locked on my car. Which is a defeat and a safety issue. I have spoken with 3 people that have an Dodge Charger as well and all 3 people have had the same problem. This is obvious a defeat which should be a recall. I currently still make payments on my vehicle its not fair to me for this to happen and its not my fault. I have googled this issue/ I have seen the complaints on your website about the same issue I am having. . So many people are complaining about the same problem. This is in deed a defeat in the car. Just for this reason alone I am considering letting chysler come pick the car up and keep it. I pay to much money out monthly to going through defeats on a car when I call about it then am told its no recall on it. Its not fair. I am a paying customer and have not ever been late paying monthly payments. Please consider this problem as a recall.
My 2007 Dodge Charger suddenly would not shift out of park today 7/12/2013. After researching online I discovered there is a recall for this issue however my VIN is not covered. This is a known issue and is well documented online, however Chrysler refuses to expand the recall to all Chargers affected by their faulty shift column.
