Had trouble starting my car when leaving work one night. The car then would not start the next day. I had it towed to the dealership where it was diagnosed to have a completely malfunctioning ignition switch and was told that the parts were on back order and he did not know when they would be available. I was then doing online research to try to find one on my own when I come across a safety recall for this exact problem. I called a number on the site about the recall and she told me my vehicle was not included in the recall because it did not fall on the right manufacturing date. I saw on that website that the recall was announced on 8-15-15. Mine completely malfunctioning two weeks later tells me there may be more to this than Dodge is aware of or, just willing to admit. I understand things break, I understand auto repairs are a part of life. But I cant stand the thought of what could of happened if it had gone out while I was driving down beltway around washington d. C. During rush hour. I saw that they said 350k vehicles were on the recall list. I think this should be investigated further. I would appreciate some sort of response to this, so I know that this was at least received.
