Id like you guys to get into my car computer box to tell me what caused my car out of control before I take my car to Dodge. I am experiencing the same issue as identified with NHTSA id number: 11525511, June 5, 2023. Dodge has a known issue with the wiring for the fuse for the a/c located in the front pdc. Technical service bulletin number: 08-040-14 rev. A. On or around June 2020, I took my 2012 Dodge Charger to my local dealership during the covid pandemic for an issue with my ac not working. I had the car inspected by numerous mechanics who indicated there was an issue with the fuse for the a/c clutch (#12), they would replace the fuse numerous times, the ac would come on and blow warm air or cool air, but mostly warm. Replacing the fuse numerous of times did not resolve the issue. Neither did replacing all the cooling system and radiator and fan as well. My auto shop had a mechanic who specializes on the computer for cars take a look at my Charger and found technical service bulletins number: 08-040-14 and number: 08-040-14 rev. A which directly describes the issue I am experiencing with my vehicle. The mechanic has even placed a small nail in the cavity next to the fuse to hold it in its place and my ac is blowing fine and cold air until that fuse is moved or touched. This also caused issues with the fuse for the steering wheel on the car which the Dodge dealership addressed when I lost steering power on my vehicle. They did not repair the issue with number: 08-040-14 on my vehicle. I paid the $199. 00 diagnostic fee just for the shop to put a new fuse in (which I repeatedly told them was not the issue at that time) and I am still having the same problem. I would like Chrysler/Dodge to contact armory Dodge and authorize not only a refund for the $199. 00 diagnostic fee I paid to have the issue identified (which they did not) and also authorize the repair needed as instructed on the TSB number: 08-040-14. The dealership has informed me that they do not even have the repair kit needed part no. 68235388aa (wire harness kit) and would need to do a workaround to repair the issue.
My ac was working decent, not how it should be, when I first got the vehicle. Now, the ac just blows warm air, no recirculation for feet setting. I am getting the code p0741 and it doesn't change.
A licensed mechanic did a diagnostic test and the code p1db7 came up. The reason for calling the mechanic was after driving my car the next day it didn't want to start, there was recalls already repaired apparently yet the code states that it's a faulty torque converter clutch (tcc) faulty transmission control module (tcm). There's still an electrical problem tpms is still not reading the computer system correctly is just not right therefore it's not reading anything correctly. The original control arms w/ball jt including the steering column is all bad and will cause a wreck or someone killed caused of the instability.
Service shifter error and powerstwering warning light turned on.
I bought a used 2012 Dodge Charger and had everything checked out by big o tires prior to purchase. A few days later, my husband was stuck at the gas station because the gear shift would not come out of park. This has happened multiple times in various places and weather conditions and the dealer cannot figure out what is wrong. The brake switch is good, we had the whole gear shift assembly replaced and still have the problem. Upon watching you tube videos, it must be the transmission interlock switch (the infamous pink plastic piece) that Dodge/Chrysler owners are having issues with. There was a recall on 2005-07 Dodge Chargers to replace the pink transmission shift interlock latch that breaks and prevents vehicles from shifting out of park. My 2012 and many vehicles after 2007 are also affected. I am currently waiting for the dealer to replace this part. I would like to request this recall to be extended to include model years after 2007, to include my 2012 Charger.
Air bag alert, car is vibrating after 70 mph.
Timing chain snapped while driving. I have the 5. 7 liter v8 hemi. I have read a lot of complaints in regards to the same issue. My vehicle has only 105k miles on it.
I have filed a complaint in regards to the issue previously, but new information that mopar issued a campaign to recall the timing chain on over 50k vehicle for this issue but mopar refused to cover my timing chain due to my vehicle had to many miles and I am not the first owner. I find it completely unsafe to have a timing chain snap while driving at any speed. I was attempting to turn on a main street when this issue occured. Please advise if anything further comes. I attached a copy of the previous recall on this issue.
It was in drive and when I open the door it refuse to get into gear and went back into park and then when I tried to put it in gear or reverse it wouldn't do either and the service shifter light and engine light both came on and I had to let it sit for about 15 or 20 minutes before it would get into a gear for me to drive it. . . . And this was after the safety recall for the gear shifter so I feel that still have something to do with my gear shifter that they did the recall on. . . It didnt start happening until that safety shift went into park when I open my door and it wouldnt go into another gear after that. . . .
Takata inflators we brought our car to lakeland Dodge in florida as scheduled, to have this recall fixed. After 4hours of waiting they said they did the repair to correct it. We checked the database on this site and it said that the repair is was not conducted. I need to get this fixed and I do not have the time to waste. I attached the invoice so you can see what they did.
The oil pump is not giving enough pressure for the car to accelerate therefore causing problems on the road and many times dangerous situations. There is also a check engine light on. I replaced everything that could be wrong with it except the dual stage oil pump. I've talked to many technicians and they said that that is the only thing it can be. Please review this on the 2012 Dodge Charger sxt rwd 3. 6l engine. It is a safety concern.
Blend actuators behind dash went out. Loud clanking noise. Known issue by Dodge with no inexpensive solution.
Vehicle electronics started to shut off while driving and would not accelerate car then turned off and shifted to park on its own in the middle of the street. Car would not turn on with out a jump start when disconnected would not shift and would not idle right before shutting off.
My vehicle has the same issues regarding p60 / NHTSA 14v-634 recall. The alternator does not provide enough voltage to the vehicle and the entire system begins to fail. While driving on a street traveling around 30 mph I received no warning and my began to shut down. All of the lights began turning on and off, the wipers turned on, and then my car completely shut off. This caused me to nearly hit another vehicle and injure myself. This is a huge safety concern and someone could be hurt.
Trunk opens on its own. At times you can even hear it clicking as though you are pushing the release button. Sometimes I open the garage in the morning and the trunk is open sometimes right when I start the car it will open, ill shut it then it opens again. Other times it wont open again on its own after I shut it. This should be a safety recall!.
My interior driver side handle got stuck and would not allow the door to close. We got it repaired and thankfully was covered under warranty in 8/2014. Now here we are again, 11/2016 and the exact same issue! the door will not close again!.
My Dodge Charger went dead while I was driving one day. The battery indicator came on and charging system on my monitor, I was driving with my wife in the car and I was lucky to be able to turn on a side street as the wipers came on and suddenly I had no more power to steer the car. I had my hazardous lights on too and everything then went dead. I was lucky that day and god watched over me and my wife. When my roadside service got there and he tried to give me a jump it would not start and he tested the battery and it had a full charge on it. I had the car towed to the Dodge dealer that night. The next day I went to find out that the alternator was fried. I looked up at the time my vehicle was down before my roadside service got there that night. I founded out there was a p60 recall alternator (amp 160) for Dodge Charger year 2011-2014. I called Chrysler corporation the night I went down, and they looked up and said it was not on my vehicle. They said I had a amp 180, but after getting a new alternator in my Dodge Charger I'm still having problems with a battery save mode that keeps popping up on my monitor screen. I pleaded with the Chrysler corporation that something is wrong with the alternator and that night I could have died. If I was on the highway. I don't feel safe everyday driving, because I have to get on the highway to go to work. I'm going back to the Dodge service department to get this battery save mode checked out, because they used one of the p60 recall alternator to fix my vehicle. I think they don't have a stable alternator, because it is probably draining the battery.
Cylinder misfire caused converter to be replaced. Service center advised me to call Dodge to inquire about converter being covered by dodgr becausethe converter was collateral damage. Still waiting for resolution. Accident**.
In motion on busy highway, heard noises from engine, stereo suddenly turned off and abs and stability control lights came on. Engine started smoking and could smell burning electrical then went into a stall. Battery saver mode indicator came on. Alternator is shot. Contacted Chrysler and was told that I was not covered (did a VIN check) under their current alternator recall/battery. Recall number is p60. I have owned the vehicle for 2 months and it only has 58k miles on it. Was a very dangerous situation. Have not performed the repairs yet but am ordering a new alternator and battery today.
My 2012 Dodge Charger sxt has approximately 81,000 miles. I have never had any problems with it, maintenance have always been done on time. I was pulling into a parking lot when I started hearing a noise from the hood. I turned off the car and restarted it, the noise was still there and became louder. Then smoke started coming out of the hood. I turned off the car and waited for the smoke to subside, which was about 40 minutes. Then I opened the hood and and the smell of burnt was very strong. The car would not start after that. We had it towed to our mechanic and he confirmed the alternator had caught fire. He could not fix anything because the electrical components in the car where acting up and he does not know the system. He advised us about the alternator recall p60 and so I called Chrysler and they were adamant that my car does not have any recalls for the alternator. However all symptoms of this recall p60 were present in my car. We took it to firestone and they referred us to the dealer because they confirmed the computer was also damaged and they said that only the dealer could help with that. I called the dealer as well and they said, there is no warranty on the alternator, computer or any of the components the other mechanics have confirmed failed in the car. Chrysler will not acknowledge that the vehicle has the same alternator issue under recall p60 and now we are left with an extremely expensive repair, car rental. I would appreciate any assistance in getting Chrysler to take responsibility for selling a car with a defective alternator. My vehicle is relatively new and I was not counting on having to pay for such a hefty repair to a new car.
Vehicle staled in middle of highway lost all dash lights stereo back up camera dealership could not get car in for a week had it towed to home burnt next day.
I smelled smoke as I was pulling into a convenience store. I stopped the car beside a gas pump. At that time I saw smoke coming from under the hood. I popped the latch to look under the hood. I was trying to find the latch to open the hood and could not find it, so I looked under the unopened hood and saw a fire. I then got back into the car and moved it away from the fuel pumps and away from the building. I gathered up my phone and phone Charger, popped the trunk to see if there was anything I needed to get out. I then backed away from the vehicle at a safe distance and called 911. The police and the fire department came and put the fire out. The car is totaled. The interior is burned up, the 2 front tires are burned up, the wind shield and both front windows shattered, the engine is burned up and the front half of the cars paint has been burned up.
Dodge has known issues and recalls for alternators being defective in their 2012 Charger models but continues to make customers pay out of pocket to fix the issue. I purchased a 2012 Dodge Charger April 2012 cash. Recently my alternator stopped working on the car. I took the car to the nearest Dodge in my area to have test ran on the battery and alternator, the battery tested good but they would not test the alternator unless I paid a $100 fee which I could have done for free at the nearest parts dealer (autozone, o'riely's). I recently repaired my car out of pocket $300 with no assistance from Dodge, but before doing so I saw there has been over 450,000 recalls for the same issue of alternators prematurly going bad. I called 8008531403 and 8009921997 and spent over 2 hours on the phone without a resolution, the first rep advised the recall is VIN specific andnothing applies to my VIN, I tried to explain to the rep that this has been a known isssue for Dodge models made since 2010-2013 and my car was produced within that time frame. The rep advised me to take it in for a diagnostic and I could submit for a possible reimbursment if its determined its fault Dodge. I advised I was not comfortable with doing so if I cant be garaunteed I will be reimbursed, I then asked for a supervisor. The supervisor pamela (id ph314) was rude from the start of the call call and told me its not her concern if my car gets repaired. I love my car and have been considering purchasing my fiance a 2015-2016 model but after how I was treated I am strongly changing my mind.
I received a recall post card in the mail stating the manufacturer had attempted to contact me previously to schedule an inspection soon as possible. I called on 6-16-15 and scheduled the appointment with holley holley as the service advisor. The scheduled appointment took place on 6/18/15. Once I received my car back from the dealership. Holley holley reasurred me that a multipoint inspection was done on my car and fluid levels were checked. I live an hour away from the dealership. On my way to work the following morning 6/19/15 when I arrived to work I noticed steam was coming out of the side of my drivers door once I opened it to get out. I had to call a mechanic immediately to try and get my car towed back to the dealership due to holly holley telling me over the phone to bring the car back in once I told her I didnt have this issue prior to bringing my car in for the inspection. Once the towing company arrived the driver popped my hood. The driver asked me to come look under my hood. The driver was able to show me that the radiator cap was never put back on my radiator when I had taken it to the dealership for the inspection on 6/18/15. Whomever tech:999176 is that worked on my car is. I would like the tec:999176 to know that this is a safety issue and my motor couldve blown up due to his careless mistakes of not doing his job. It took three hours to cool my car down. I hate doing any kind of business with roundtree Chrysler and I hate I ever purchased my car from this dealership. Ive had so many problems with roundtree and the car itself. If I could get a brand new Dodge Charger it would definitely suffice everything ive experienced with this dealership. I will not take my car back to this dealership for any services other than recalls that are pre-paid for. I will fill out the survey with scores of poor performance on every aspect of my experiences with a Dodge.
Vehicle intermittently emits a chemical odor from the a/c vents. At times it is almost intoxicating causing headaches and sore throat. At times it is a light odor others very strong to the point windows have to be rolled down.
Another bent rim on Dodge Charger superbee resulting in loss of tire pressure. Dodge Charger only has 15,000 miles and I have had several bent rims. Continue to notify Chrysler of issue to no avail.
Tcs light came on, and the cruise control shut down. Car did not appear to have traction control. Cycled power light turned off. Is an ongoing issue, dealer offering to replace module.
Driving 70mph on the interstate, the battery icon appeared on the dash. After checking the information system it stated "battery saver mode". In attempt to make it home, driving an additional 30 minutes- the electrical system in the car started to malfunction. The dashboard lights flashed out of control, the windshield wipers came on, the car accelerated without my foot on the pedal, and the steering wheel tightened where I was unable to stop or turn the vehicle. After an estimate of 1 minute of attempting to stop the vehicle, it failed. The car came to a complete stop and shut down. We were not able to restart it or put it in gear. We had a tow truck carry the car back to the dealer, rainbow Dodge chrylser Jeep of covington, la. After searching for information online, it stated that the problem is a faulty alternator, which is a safety recall for Chrysler and the part is unavailable.
Hello. Yesterday, I was driving on a city street 35 mph and I received an error message battery saver mode. I had never seen this before, all of a sudden my car starting going slower and slower. I was very lucky that I was at my destination before the car finally shut off. I could not do anything. My car would not do anything. I called aaa, I could not access the trunk. I am so glad my car doors were not locked. I had my daughter climb behind the back seat to lift the trunk. Aaa checked my battery through the trunk and kept saying something is still on. My car was still in start although the car was completely shut off. Then when he tried charging my battery, it was still draining. I am so glad the car did not shut off while I was on the highway (which I travel frequently with my children). I have learned that my alternator is bad. Now I have to pay out of pocket for an alternator for a 2012 car, a 2012222222222 car! I can not even believe it! contacted Chrysler and the rep told me if I take it to an independent shop there is not a guarantee I could receive my money back soooooo now I have to tow it to a dealer, which means there is more out of pocket expense. This is crazy and I expect so much more from such a long term company. I am livid that my car completely shut down on me and am thankful that my children and I are safe.
A message appeared and indicated battery saver mode. I decided to go and get a picture of the message to show the dealership but when I turned the car on the abs and traction control lights also turned on. The car was also making a screeching noise. I proceeded to drive around the block at which time a burning smell started. As I came around the block not faster than 5-10 mph the burning smell got stronger and the car started trembling and I couldn't turn it off or put it in park. The shifter would just slide up and down never parking. I couldn't take my foot off the break because it would keep moving almost wreaking into my husbands truck. Finally the car started trembling and other panel lights appeared and turned off. (transmission and engine light) finally the wipers came on for a few minutes. Prior to this I had already taken the car in twice for the abs and traction control lights.
Drove the car to work battery saver light came on went off. Was driving home from work picked up the kids was on my way back to work place and once arrived turned car off once I got back in car it smelled like electrical burnt smell wouldn't start ac was blowing a burnt smell wipers started going crazy, all dash board lights were flickering flashing then nothing. Wouldn't do anything. . . Just died. . After purchasing an alternator through Dodge 585. 00 note for a 2012 model is insane. I had to have the car towed another 65. 00 the car is extremely loud which I was told was when alternator went out it over stressed the fan. The heater went out last week which ended up being a regulator or something part this car is a lemon nothing but issues since I bought it. .
My 2012 Dodge Charger was doing just fine, there was absolutely no indication that would have led me to believe it was going to die on me soon. I bought it in may (used), and it is now August. It has just over 41k miles. I was driving about 60mph and this message came on "battery saving mode", I got to the store and pumped gas, turned it back on just fine and the message was still showing, then drove it less than a mile while hearing this slight high pitch noise that sounded like it was coming from under the hood. I reached my destination and when I turned off there was this burning smell and some clear smoke coming from under the hood. We opened it and saw and smelled more smoke along with a burned rubber smell coming from under the left side of the panel covering the engine. Now my car won't start at all and I keep hearing that it could be the alternator, and that it is under investigation for a possible recall. I don't know if I have to take it to the dealership and pay for it to get fixed if there's no official recall on it yet or what. I have also heard that it has actually caught fire for other people in the forums I've read, so now I have to also have it towed. Don't know what to do.
Customer stated 2012 Dodge Charger , car will not start. Could not get correct milage test starting.
Parked auto on gravel parking lot. The drive select did go into the park position upon shut-down and the engine did not turn off when the ignition button was depressed. No engine sound apparent due low rpm and good sound suppression material. Excited the vehicle and locked car door. The car did not move as I left the area. Subsequent to my departure, the torque built up enough ro propel the car across the parking lot and into a tree in front of a private resident adjacent to the fair grounds.
