2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

My 2014 Dodge Charger has now had the steering wheel and rod come out in my lap twice now while driving within three months. I have reported this with fca corporate, this is now my third report and complaint with the vehicle safety department, now two open safety claims with Chrysler corporate in denver and also have had the repairs done once by larry h miller I am trying to get the same repair done again but no one will return my phone calls and no one is willing to take accountability of this vehicle and fix it. Total care warranty has a contract with larry h miller for 12 months or 12,000 miles that they must fix the repairs no matter what. Larry h miller claimed that total care was not going to cover the fixes even though they are the ones that are supposed to fix it. Fraud, lies, unsafe and unprofessional practices. I have almost been in an accident twice now. The steering wheel literally falls out while I am adjusting it up or down even if I am going slow or in park. No one will fix my vehicle, no one will call me back. I contacted the dealership I bought it from since I am the first and only owner, and they will not return my phone calls. Gerry with fca management in the claims department in denver with whom my claims were managed by, now he will not return any of my emails or phone calls regarding my cases with Chrysler corporate. I will be contacting the manufacturer and the secretary of transportation and also file this federally. By law I should have an equivalent vehicle replaced since mine is a faulty vehicle. I have a defective part and already replaced and covered by my warranty for almost $6000 and now within a month the exact same steering wheel and rod fell into my lap while driving while it was raining took off my windshield wiper lever now I have no blinkers now I have no windshield wipers and now my cruise control and all wheel drive or out too.

3 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2019

While driving, I conducted a normal pass on a two lane road. When I pressed the acceleration pedal, the car took off at a dramatic pace. The car continued to accelerate well over 100 mph. Dragging the brake kept the car from continuing to accelerate to its full capacity. Shifting in neutral had no effect as the engine maintained its full rpm. While in neutral, the car's computer would not allow the engine to be shut off displaying a message that the car had to be in park before that was allowed to happen. Placed the car in neutral, applied full braking, and brought the car to a standstill as the engine continued to run at full rpm. Shifted to park and turned the car off. I let it sit for 10 minutes and started it again. Car performed normal. Dodge has a known issue/recall for the same situation when using cruise control and I believe the issue is present while not using cruise control as well. Less than a month ago, the car was serviced at the local Dodge dealer under the recall to correct the cruise control issue.

4 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. When the contact purchased the vehicle from don brown Chevrolet (2244 s kings highway blvd, st. Louis, mo 63110, 314-772-1400), they were not informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 18v332000 (electrical system, vehicle speed control). While making a stop, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the front and rear wheels. The service center manager was notified of the failure. A dealer was not notified. In addition, the cruise control failed to properly engage and disengage, which caused the vehicle to idle highly. The contact had to apply force to the brake pedal and maneuver the switch function due to the failure. The contact received 61 safety alerts to a diagnostic trouble code device reader since owning the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact wanted a buy back or a trade in option if the manufacturer was unable to remedy the failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.

5 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2016

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving down a steep hill with the cruise control set to 73 mph, the vehicle began to increase in speed to 90 mph without warning. The contact also stated that he felt unsafe in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

6 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2015

While driving on a town road at about 35 mph, the warning lights for the abs and esc systems lit. I subsequently determined that the vehicle cruise control also no longer functioned. I contacted Chrysler since the vehicle recently had a recall performed for alternator replacement, and symptoms included in that recall - Chrysler p60 / NHTSA 14v-634 - indicate that modes of failure may include disabling abs and esc. Chrysler stated that "sometimes they may need to do the recall again". Brought vehicle to dealer. Diagnosed as a sensor failure. I had to pay for repairs. Service writer stated that this failure happens on these cars quite frequently, and even "guessed" correctly what needed to be replaced before the tech worked on it. Esc and abs are both significant safety systems.

7 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2013

I recently purchased a new Dodge Charger which is equipped with the adaptive cruise control accessory. The operation of this control is a safety problem as follows: for example, I set the speed for 55 mph on the highway which ¿cruises¿ the automobile at this speed. I then arrive at a 65 mph limit stretch of road and so I accelerate by pressing the ¿res/+¿ control to accelerate the vehicle to 65 mph. With all previous cruise controls, when I stop pressing this control at 65 mph, the speed stabilizes. With this acc, it continues to accelerate like a rocket until I ¿cancel¿, turn off the cruise control or hit the brakes. The reverse also applies ¿ if I wish to slow down, removing the pressure on the ¿set/-¿ does nothing and the vehicle still continues to slow down. It is possible to switch from the acc to normal cruise control, but this problem is still apparent. I am now almost familiar with this problem and can act accordingly, but my wife drives the vehicle occasional and she has problems because her own vehicle does not operate in a similar manner to this cruise control. I am sure that other occasional drivers find this problematic, and it appears to be an accident waiting to happen ¿ if it hasn¿t already. I have taken this to the dealer several times over the last six months, and they contacted Chrysler. Initially, Chrysler asked for the control hardware be shipped to them for analysis. This was done by the dealer but Chrysler informed us they could not find a problem. With my latest visit I was informed that it is supposed to operate in this fashion, but the handbook does not mention any of these control issues.
