The contact became aware of NHTSA campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. I was driving on interstate 15 north when suddenly my power steering stopped working. I was unable to adequately turn the steering wheel to switch lanes while I was moving 65mph. The light "service power steering" started blinking and I was virtually unable to turn my steering wheel left or right. I was stuck in a life-threatening situation. I immediately had to put my hazard lights on, brake, and fight for my life to try to turn the steering wheel so I could pull over. I almost impacted the barrier and several drivers during this. My mechanic states that my power steering pump failed, without any known cause.
I didn’t own the vehicle when incidents occurred.
Door locks getting stuck front two doors only. Steering wheel trembling while driving on road. All panels front dash side doors and middle section un attaching. Topp roof of inside is also coming off. Hood paint is peeling right side of hood.

Lock door they do not open or close due to the intiror of the doors are detaching from the front wth th key less remote. Most of all the dashboard is unpleeing from top of the dash and doors mide section. Steering is bounching while driving on somewhat uneven road here in the city. Paint starting to peel on the hood. I belive that it is a safty hassared due to in emergency to get in or out of the car will not be able to get out. The steering has a big problem that. Had a accedent6 on 2017 my air bags did not deploy it was head onto arock wall fence.
Unknown.
All four axles and spindle nuts are literally decaying and crumbling. Its to the point the guy at the tire shop said its not safe. Being a awd vehicle it puts a lot of strain on the hubs. The car only has 65,000 miles on it.
My steering wheel has locked up on me while I'm driving at least 10 times if not more since I purchased my 2014 Dodge Charger in 2015. All these incidents where at different time periods and at different speeds ranging from 0 to 60 mph. The steering wheel would stay locked for a couple of minutes. Each time that it has happened, I've been close to having an accident either hitting someone else or running off the road. I would try to turn the vehicle off and on to see if it would loosen back up. Sometimes it would work, other times it wouldn't. I've taken the vehicle to multiple mechanics and they all have said it might have something to so with the power steering since the vehicle is electric. I've then taken it to the Dodge dealership to get it diagnosed and they said nothing comes up on their tests that shows steering wheel defects. I've also contacted the actual Dodge manufacturer but they weren't of any help either unless a recall pops up. I have no evidence to show the problem other than horrible past experiences I've had while driving.
2014 Dodge Charger electric power steering pump having issues turning steering wheel which I complain about 6 months ago after purchasing the vehicle for my son it a very serious problem concerning safety . They only recall 2014 Dodge Charger if the the power steering pump was install at specific maufactured facilities, which is bs . Dodge should be responsible for any faulted power steering pump issue knowingly it exists. My son vehicle has this electric power steering pump issue and the manufacturer and Dodge dealer should replace due to safety issues. Please advise.
When driving and acceleraing lost power to the instrument cluster and powwr steering.
When I driving (I motion) I feel like the car wants to turn it off by it self, the panel looks like if I turn it on and off, and it wont start when I speed up.
The power steering pump was replaced because of on and off stiffness while driving. This was very frightening because the steering wheel will not release while turning. The dealership replaced the pump about 3 times and still cannot correct the problem.
As I was making a turn (car was in motion on street), the steering wheel stiffened up, the car became extremely hard to control. After completing the turn I pulled into a empty parking space. I turned off the and then turned on the car. I then received a message from the car saying "service power steering". I decided to drive around the block to see if there would be any change in handling of the car. There was none, so I parked the car in the driveway.
When driving my vehicle their is a knocking noise in my front right wheel, almost sounds as if some bolts are loose. Also when pulling in to back up, when I turn my steering wheel a certain way their is a funny clicking sound in the steering wheel, and funny sound in the brake when I am backing my car into my drive way. I believe that this may be an issue with a recall that hasn't been looked into.
Around 70k miles I noticed my car not wanting to turn left, especially when braking. The wheel seems to lock up and is very difficult to turn. I also noticed a knocking, rattling type noise, that seems to come from the wheel area, when turning either left or right and at low and high speeds. I took my car to a Dodge dealership to be checked. I was told I needed new brakes, rotors and lower control arms replaced. Which I had them replaced. I took car back because it is still doing the same thing, I was told they do not see or know any reason why it's still happening. The check engine light came on, codes ps401 and p06dd was reported. The locking of the wheel is occurring more frequently and I'm afraid to drive the vehicle.
While driving freeway, highway, in a parking lot or at a stop light my cars electronics are shutting off and occasionally the engine shuts off and my steering locks up. Sounds like the p60 recall but my car VIN does not qualify but had all the same symptoms and is very dangerous. This car is my only way to work and it's been getting worse and I have been denied a fix on this. This is not safe at all.
On highway going 65mph. Car steering lost control and pulled sharp right off road. Could not steer or brake. All lights on panel were lit up. Road in the ditch at 65mph and ramped a driveway and still couldn't steer or brake. Finally car came to a stop on its own or due to impact and high brush in the ditch.
My 2014 Dodge Charger has now had the steering wheel and rod come out in my lap twice now while driving within three months. I have reported this with fca corporate, this is now my third report and complaint with the vehicle safety department, now two open safety claims with Chrysler corporate in denver and also have had the repairs done once by larry h miller I am trying to get the same repair done again but no one will return my phone calls and no one is willing to take accountability of this vehicle and fix it. Total care warranty has a contract with larry h miller for 12 months or 12,000 miles that they must fix the repairs no matter what. Larry h miller claimed that total care was not going to cover the fixes even though they are the ones that are supposed to fix it. Fraud, lies, unsafe and unprofessional practices. I have almost been in an accident twice now. The steering wheel literally falls out while I am adjusting it up or down even if I am going slow or in park. No one will fix my vehicle, no one will call me back. I contacted the dealership I bought it from since I am the first and only owner, and they will not return my phone calls. Gerry with fca management in the claims department in denver with whom my claims were managed by, now he will not return any of my emails or phone calls regarding my cases with Chrysler corporate. I will be contacting the manufacturer and the secretary of transportation and also file this federally. By law I should have an equivalent vehicle replaced since mine is a faulty vehicle. I have a defective part and already replaced and covered by my warranty for almost $6000 and now within a month the exact same steering wheel and rod fell into my lap while driving while it was raining took off my windshield wiper lever now I have no blinkers now I have no windshield wipers and now my cruise control and all wheel drive or out too.

It is real hard to turn my car wheel; I was told it was some electrical problems. But I'm really not sure; it came out the blue.
takata recall driving my vechicle on city roads is fine, the vechicle runs perfectly but taking it in the highway is another problem. Picking up highway speeds the dashboard begins to shake as well as the steering wheel. It happens when I reach 80mph and is a concern to me. I've never experienced a problem like that in a vechicle so I thought it was a problem and told the dealership where I brought the vechicle from. Unfortunately the problem wasn't resolved so I'm askinging is this a problem I should worry about.
Steering cut out when turning I have three car doing the same.
11-23-16, driving on interstate at 65 mph in a 70mph ,suddenly steering wheel began to pull by itself left to right repeatedly for about 3-4 seconds ,I nearly lost control, braked gently and steering returned to normal,,battery saver mode came on a short before this happened, 2 hours later on a 40 mph city street I was making a normal low speed left turn on a green light, car seemed to not go where I steered it and we hit a traffic control pole, deploying all airbags, there was a light drizzle in both instances, but this was not a hydroplane, battery saver mode was on for over 4 hours during our entire trip until our accident.
While driving and preparing to turn my vehicle took control and I was no longer able to break or turn. Thankfully there was nobody in the neighbor at the time and with less than a foot from hitting the stop sign I was able to stop. I took it to the dealer where I purchased (1. 5 years prior)and they said nothing was wrong just needed a new battery. I insisted this was not the issue so the manager had his associate test drive to come to the same conclusion the steering and brake system is fine. Not happy I left after purchasing the battery and here we are 1. 5 weeks later with the same issue. I tried to drive out of work yesterday and I lost control to my steering and it locked. I put my car in park and tried once more the same thing happened, I then try to restart but it would not allow me to do so. I had to disconnect the battery and it started. Not feeling safe for my life I left the car at work and still do not want to drive it. From what I am reading I am not the only 2014 Dodge Charger having this issue. I need this fixed if I was on the freeway who knows what would have happened.
My Dodge Chargers power steering would quit both while in park and drive, when in the car and the incident would occur you could not turn the vehicles steering wheel. It was taken to the dealer on a tow truck due to vehicle not being able to function properly.
I was stopped at an intersection with a 4 way stop. A car pulled up to my left so I pulled into the intersection. I began pulling into the intersection to make a left turn and another car came speeding up, pulled around the car to my left and hit my car on the left (driver's) side. I was thrown forward and hit my head on the sunvisor, causing a subdural hematoma in my head. This resulted in my spending 8 days in he icu unit of memorial hospital, springfield, illinois.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the interior lights flickered, the stereo failed, and the brake pedal vibrated when it was depressed. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle veered to the driver and passenger side intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 31,007.
While traveling on the freeway (in the lane next to the carpool lane) the car immediately pulled to the extreme left causing me to crash into the center divider. During this time, I had no control over the vehicle. When I was finally able to come to a complete stop, the tire was pulled back next to the front driver door, but still upright and headed forward. You could see where the tire had been spinning against the body of the car. (these are known symptoms of a failed ball joint) unfortunately, the complete tire assembly was ripped off as it was loaded onto the tow truck. Chrysler has since ruled that the accident was caused by my "misuse/abuse" of the vehicle. However, it was only 4 months old and very well taken care of. A total of $13,000 of damage was done to car, of which they have placed the blame solely on me; based off of photos that I took after the accident. I waited three weeks for them to send an investigator out to look at my car. . . He never showed up. The repair work was started on my vehicle without my authorization. (cover up??) the body shop (which is at the Dodge dealership where I initially purchased the car) has since advised me to let them finish the repair work, and attempt to trade the car in. I have expressed to them and the Chrysler group that I would not feel safe in that car if it was fixed. I also find it unfair that my insurance would have to pay for their mistake and faulty part. I could have been killed in that accident, I hope that others who have experienced this problem will come forth so that lives may be saved in the future and injuries prevented.
