A module went bad in my 2012 Dodge Charger. The wiper blades were stuck on high, full speed, even with the control set in the off position. The night time lights would stay on, even with the dial set to auto, in the middle of the day. I was told by my dealership, that the part was on "national back order and that there was no eta on when the part would be in. " my dealership has left me stranded, with no loaner vehicle and no solutions.
When I turn on my turn signals the windshield wipers go on! this happens 2 to 3 times I put the turn signal on then does not do it next time and then again the next 3 times I use the turn signals. Mostly happening with left turn signal. The wipers do not stop until you turn off the turn signal. Something must be wrong with the electrical wiring or switch.
Was cruising at 50mph when all electrics died. . Would not restart. Dodge official garage has told me alternator and battery failure. They want to bill me but I see there is an investigation already underway regarding this.
While im driving home around approx. 10:30 pm . I was going uphill on a bridge in a curve when my headlights went completely out on my vehicle causing me to crash to the opposite side of the bridge in the on-coming traffic lane . There also were a couple vehicles approaching a couple hundred yards away in front of me. So I had to stop my vehicle in the middle of the road . I had to leave my vehicle on the side of the road for the remainder of the night because my headlights didnt come back on at all. I really feared for my life that night.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the windshield wiper failed to turnoff unless the fuse was removed and the fuse had to be replaced to operate the windshield wipers. In addition, the contact stated that the fog light operated intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Driver-side low beam bulb appeared to be burned out - took to dealer and they found the wiring harness was burned (just as described in recall m05 for police vehicles) and had to be replaced. I really wish they had replaced both sides since they had it all apart (have to take bumper off to get to headlights which is another sad story) - they covered this fix but only because I had vehicle on extended warranty this should be a passenger vehicle recall too. Now I have to wait around for it to happen to passenger- side (or to driver side again, since cause of harness melting seems likely to be something deeper than just the harness/wiring itself - voltage regulation or ??? I don't know, but replacing it with the exact same part doesn't seem like a permanent solution).
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. While driving at 35 mph, the gauges and meters displayed incorrect reading levels. In addition, the contact stated that while in park, the vehicle failed to start and the windshield wiper was activated but failed to function. The electronic throttle control (etc) warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the relay needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v567000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Wiring harness on low beam passenger side headlight failed (shorted out), causing visibility issues while driving. This same issue has occurred on the Charger police cars and Dodge has issued a recall for them, but the passenger cars are not included in the recall.
Car rolled eventhough vehicle was in in park and vehicle was not running. 1st incident happened within 10 min of walking away from car, rolled into another car. 2nd incident happened nearly 2 hours after being parked, and 3rd incident happened within 1 hour of being parked on slight incline. Dealer unable to recreat incident. Factor rep called Dodge, Dodge called transmission mfg and had valve com replaced. No further incident 2nd problem, windshield has wave in glass, wipers leaving large streaks causing driver to have safety issue. Dealer polished windshield 3x to no avail. Contacted Dodge waiting for factory rep to authorize replacement of windshield on going for almost 10 months.
Upon starting the vehicle during daylight hours, the auto light control was on for the vehicles low beam headlight use. As time went on, and a few stops were made, a plastic aroma was noticed several times during frequent stopping between traffic lights. The vehicle's evic messaging system was checked for any overheating issues due to the high temperatures of the day. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Several oncoming vehicles were flashing their headlights towards our way in order to warn us of an issue with our headlights, which we could not see from inside the vehicle at the time. And it wasn't dark enough to see this issue occurring. We pulled the vehicle over to inspect, only to find our driver side low beam headlight flickering and strobing. I was able to purchase yet another headlight low beam from the local walmart store, that was spec'd as an oem replacement from sylvania. This was the 2nd time the light has been replaced, but first for me to do so. I tried to replace the bulb, only to discover that the low beam connector was melted on that side of the car, which was encased by it's own protective housing. Upon cleaning up the connection the best I could, we got the light to work. The next few miles were ok, but then noticed the smell again. The occurance is now happening every day, and we try to catch it before the connector melts. The car must stay at home until the dealer can look at this and solve the issue. The issue occurred after a recall on the power distribution center was completed a few weeks ago, recall m10 was completed, and now several electrical issues have followed. To now end, this vehicle has had over 26 issues in a span of 16 months now. And we've deemed it unfit for driving safety, to include, brake, abs, strut, sway bushings, rotor, starting, power drains, etc. This list is longer than mentioned above. Wiring is extremely hot around there.
