Four problems related to fuel pump have been reported for the 1996 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Less than 30 days after pruchase, attempted to put vehicle in 4-wheel drive for the first time and it would not go engage. The next day vehicle stalled and would not restart.

Fuel pump failed.
While driving, suddenly check engine light came on, vehicle stopped on freeway without warning, complete malfunction of fuel pump/fuel system.
