Four problems related to car stall have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
3 days after we bought this vehicle the fuel system went down. Replaced the fuel pump and still wants to stall and act like its clogged in the fuel lines. Its been flushed. When driving it bogs down and chugs. It wants to die and shut off while your driving the truck. The brakes only work half the time. Most of the time I can't even stop until I'm halfway through the intersection. Replaced all the sensors and still doesn't want to start and stay running. Fuel pump kicks on, but has to run extra hard to try and keep the engine running.
When pulling a trailer it causes vehicle to lose power/stall; vehicle been in dealer shop on three occasiones, and problem still reoccurring. Feel free to provide further details.
When driving at any speed vehicle is backfiring/stalling/vibrating, and vehicle dies out. Consumer had to get a new clutch and this is the third transmission that has been replaced within vehicle. There is a problem with the gears, and dealer can't determine the problem.
The vehicle stalls everytime the vehicle is not moving, and when the owner takes her foot off the gas pedal. Dealer couldn't find the problem.
