Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problems of the 1997 Dodge Dakota

Three problems related to front suspension wheel bearing have been reported for the 1997 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2002

While driving at any speed there will be a vibration coming from front of vehicle. Consumer diagnosed problem as a faulty left/front wheel bearing. Dealership has not examined vehicle for this problem. Please provide any additional information / documentation.

2 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2000

Consumer noticed that front wheel bearing were separated. Bearings were beinga held on by 1 nut & brake rotor. Vehicle was making a thumping sound going 65mph. Consumer found out thriugh the manufacturer that t 600,000 were on back order. Consumer purchased 1 through the dealer in stock for $150. Dealer seemed to know that it was a very common problem.

3 Front Suspension Wheel Bearing problem

The consumer replaced the upper/lower ball joint and front wheel bearing. The consumer questioned whether or nor daimler Chrysler would be taking the fault. The consumer requested to be reimbursed.
