One problem related to battery cable has been reported for the 2000 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Noticed noise upon starting in morning. Found battery cable that goes to starter had came in contact with power steering pulley due to cable not being in retaining clip. Replaced battery cable assembly. Upon replacement old cable was found to have been cut by pulley into the copper wire about 1/6".
