| Diesel Fuel System problems |
1. Truck operated normally until fuel system problems occurred. 2. Truck would not start and fuel lift pump was replaced twice, problem still not fixed and resulted in very hard starts and eventually replaced injector pump. Truck is still having fuel system problems, I am still having problems and have had truck in and out of shop for the last 4 months. The mechanic I am using has been very helpful and has not tried to take advantage of situation. He has told me that this problem is very common in these trucks and that he sees this on a weekly basis, and is surprised there has not been a recall on the fuel system. 3. After doing some research on my own, and with other diesel mechanics, I have learned that the fuel system on the Dodge cummins diesels is extremely prone to failure, and seeing the system cost around $2000 to fix, this problem should be investigated by Dodge and be recalled to fix or compensate for costs.
