Air Brake Disc Rotor problems of the 2001 Dodge Dakota

Two problems related to air brake disc rotor have been reported for the 2001 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2005

At any speed during braking, hard or soft, there seems to be a wash board effect. Truck seems to buck. From reading other reports, it seems to be a manufacturer defect that is being ignored by the manufacturer. I purchased the truck with 62000 miles and at the time, there was smooth braking. Now at 73000 I have the above described problem. I will not take it to a dealer, rather I will take it to a reputable brake shop to have the problem fixed.

2 Air Brake Disc Rotor problem

Failure Date: 05/30/2002

Premature corrosion of front brake rotors causing failure of nys vehicle inspection.
