Two problems related to hydraulic power assist steering system have been reported for the 2001 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While making a left turn at 10 mph, the steering wheel became very stiff. Steering wheel was stuck to the position. Wheel would not straighten up. *akconsumer states that the power steering failed for approximately 80 miles, consumer parked vehicle overnight and power steering worked.
The vehicle was rear ended which caused the power steering shaft to break. The manufacturer indicated that they were not responsible for the failure. Please provide any additional information.
