Tl- the contact owns a 2001 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that the transfer case control module was defective. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician verified the failure and stated that the transfer case module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in recall NHTSA campaign id number: 01v077000 (power train:automatic transmission:lever and linkage:column shift). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 220,000. Pm.
