Three problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2004 Dodge Dakota. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Trans shift solenoid control pack code popped up and does not shift smoothly at all.
Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4. The contact stated that while driving about 5 mph, the gear shifted to neutral without any warning indicator. The contact coasted the vehicle to side of the road. The vehicle was not taken to a local dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnoses due to cost. The failure recurred and the contact unplugged servo motor. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 159,000. Fe.
While driving vehicle stalled. Consumer noticed that while the vehicle was running the rmps accelerated the speed. Then, vehicle stalled. Consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the problem could not be duplicated. Consumer informed the mechanic this problem occurred more than once, and had not been resolved.
