general problems of the 2010 Dodge Dakota

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2015

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that while driving, the rear axle pinion nut and the drive train fractured. The vehicle was not able to be driven. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v474000 (power train); and the dealer was not able to schedule the repair in a reasonable timeframe. The contact was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags) and the dealer stated that the part was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 90,800.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/12/2014

I was attempting to pass a semi. The cruise was set at 70. The semi sped up to 70 also and I had to touch my accelerator to get past him. As I did, my transmission dropped into neutral and I had to let off the accelerator. It dropped back into gear at 65. I was then able to speed up to 75 and pass the semi. I had a line of cars behind me also doing 70.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number 13v038000 (power train) had exceeded a reasonable time for repair. The contact received the recall notification summer of 2013. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted and advised that the part was not available for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2012

The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Dakota. The contact stated that the parts needed for service under NHTSA campaign number: 12v474000 (power train) were not available. The manufacturer advised the contact that the part was not available and they did not know when the part would become available. The contact did not experience a failure. The recall letter was received October 2012.
