Head lights intermittently start blinking and eventually go out all together along with dash and dome lights. Online forums say it's the ctm. The next day it's fine then out of the blue it starts acting up again. Very dangerous when traveling at night. Any recalls for this? seems to be quite common for this year Dakota.

The truck has a electrical issue the lights go off and on out of no where I was driving down the road in very dark two laned road and lights go off. Our pick up truck was diagnosed with needing a central timer module replacement. We learned that there is a recall for vehicles that were built from 10/2/02 through 11/8/02. Our vehicle was built on 9/12/02. Our vehicle was built just 2 weeks before the recall and needs the same type of repair! Dodge will not pay for the repair. Problem occurs when it is stationary or in motion. We are requesting that you investigate this issue and expand the recall to include our vehicle.

I took my vehicle to my mechanic because my dash light stopped working. He said that there was a recall for the instrument panel and the recall should cover 2006 models. When we run the VIN number it does not show for my vehicle but there was a recall for all other 2006 Dodge durango because it is a fire risk. 2008 Dodge Dakota been searching for recall on the above vehicle, been stopped numerous of time by officers about signals. Have replaced bulbs and doesn¿t work. Problems: turns left signal light on and the right one comes on, this happens 95% of the time. Emergency flashes does not work 75% of the time.

This vehicle, 2002 Dodge Dakota, was driven during the day for some months. In October, 2013 I stayed out late and as I turn the head lights on, a few seconds after all the lights started to blink non stop, even all the dashboard lights. Fortunately I was not far from home, I had to turn all the lights off to get home. An additional alarm system, evs 11 mopar electronic vehicle security systems, was installed when the vehicle was purchased. At first I thought it was the alarm system malfunctioned, I had the alarm system removed but the problem was not solved. I eventually took the vehicle to the Dodge dealer and was told that the bcm needed to be replaced, after a diagnostic test was done. To replace this part is very expensive.

Dash lights began to flash along with head lights, then went out. Time was 10:30 pm to dark to drive rural roads.

The stereo system stop working, the interior lights are flickering and even when the doors are perfectly closed and I am wearing my seat bell the alarm ( bell sound) start sounding when I reach the 10 mph speed.

In using signal lights, turn left signal on to turn and the right dash signal indicator as well as right signal light flash. If I move the tilt steering position up and then back down the lights function properly. This has happened several times. It sounds like something in the steering wheel is rubbing whenever one turns the wheel. The previous owner bought the truck new and it happened to him several times as well. Now at 55,000 miles the struts, shock absorbers, rear stabilizer links and quite possibly sway bar links front and rear need to be replaced.

Passenger seat belt off and passenger air bag off warning lights light up intermittently; even when nothing is in the passenger seat. The warning lights light up for no reason.

All the sudden all rear lights went off took to garage they couldn't tell what was wrong after paying to find out nothing and they having truck for 2 days and dead battery from trying a bunch of shit, I brought it home and started to try for my self it was the fuse box of all things I have never in my life heard of having to replace fuse box about 500. 00 , and dash is cracked all over the place priced to replace cost about 700. 00 I will wait to see if they are going to replace it already had to get defroster vent fixed from stuff falling in there ,I have seen a lot of owners complain about these things going wrong but I thought one more my make a difference . I would hope that this is recalled before some one gets injured and all so the back door wiring on both sides went bad had to repair they I would thing that is a fire issue but who am I the consumer we don't know anything that's why I a women fix my own truck. Hope something is done about these problems. .

Rear door wiring failure causing the wires to short out the instrument cluster, speedometer, door locks, power windows, doom lighting. The wiring failure is due to a poor design and poor quality of materials used on both sides of the read doors wiring system between the b pillar connector and the door. This can be identified by removing the black rubber booth.

2003 Dakota lights quit working, I could have been killed. Also doors wouldn't lock or unlock electrically. Wife took truck to local dealer who said they couldn't touch it for two weeks. I could not drive the truck without lights. I checked all fuses and searched internet and deduced the central timer module (ctm) (56047092ai with date code 12/22/2002) was the problem and there was a recall #02v322000. I contacted Chrysler who said the recall didn't apply to my truck VIN #. I called another dealer who wanted $400+ to fix it. I found another dealer willing to sell me the part). They sold me a newer version and I installed it in their parking lot in about ten minutes. All the lights and electric door locks worked again except the for the key fobs which had to be reprogrammed. Total repair was $260. 21. Then I contacted Chrysler to get my truck included within the recall and asked for a refund of the repair cost. They asked for all original receipts and a form filled out. About two weeks later chryslers customer service office in india called and three different people kept telling me the recall didn't apply to my truck and they were not going to refund the money. They would not give me any other contact people or phone numbers. To my truck. But the $260. 21 I paid to have the ctm #56047092al installed replacing the original one that failed with a date code of 12/22/2002 fixed the problem and was one day prior to the recall starting. Please refund the $260. 21.

The fuse for my dimmer switch kept blowing. And I kept replacing. Because with out it in I can not see gauges. And my outside marker light fuse kept doing same. I replaced fuses again today they immediately blew. I rotated the dimmer switch to the lowest position. Again I replaced fuses. Then I turned on lights and slowly rotated dimmer switch up and I saw smoke coming from corner of instrument panel near where switch sets in dash.

Many Dodge vehicle models experience failure of illumination for instrument clusters. Currently own a 2002 Dodge ram quad cab. I have had numerous problems with my truck. I myself have also experienced the same problems with the transmission jerking as well as the vehicle completely shutting off when idling (and not even at long periods of time). At times when putting into reverse, the vehicle will not move at all and I have to completely shut off the truck and restart it to get it to move. I haven't had it reported at the dealer yet because they will be unable to duplicate. Just noticed a problem with my rear taillights. At different times, different bulbs would seem to go out causing the "lamp out" indicator lamp to illuminate. When I went to change the bulb myself (cause bulbs are not warranty), I found that the sockets were causing the bulb housing to melt inside the sockets as well as on the bulbs. I took it to the dealer and they only replaced one side because the other they did not have in stock, yet they did not even bother ordering the other side. I have already had my rack & pinion replaced because it was leaking and also have had to have my tcm and pcm reprogramed because they were causing my check engine light to come on as well as making my air conditioning inoperative.

I have a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 ext cab that I bought new from the dealership. At 42,000mi the dash had a crack in the center. I took it back to the dealership but they said it was out of warranty and to use something with uv protection. At 101,000mi the front speakers went out. Now my dash is missing big pieces. I was driving down the road last month and hit a bump in the road. A piece of dash flew up and hit my wife in the forehead. She will no longer let the grandchildren ride in my truck. She is afraid the air bag will go off or a piece of dash will hit them in the eye. Now the front lights have blinked on and off 2 or 3 times on separate occasion. I've called Dodge and they sent me to a service center. They agreed to replace the dash, instrument cover and glove box all which have cracked. But now I have to pay 580. 00$. My tax dollars bailed them out and now I have to pay for their defected parts? this is a danger to drivers.
