Front Seat Belt Anchorage Problems of Dodge Dakota

Seatbelt did not hook. . . This part has been replaced two times (with the dealer picking up the cost)since the purchase of the vehicle brand new in Dec 1996. It seams to happen about every 30,000 miles.

Driver's side seat belt willnot hold together when pressure put on, it will lock. Seatbelt willnot hold together.

The driver seatbelt would not retract which could result in injury if an accident occured. Dealer replaced driver seatbelt on two occasions.

Seat hinge tore flesh off my cousins left index finger to the bone. He needed to get 7 stitches.

Passenger seat belts failed to engage catch mechanism when pulled sharply.

Windshield has manufacture defects. Optical distortions appear in multiple, if not the entire windsheild. Dealer discribed them as normal and that every other windshield in the Dakota and durango line have similar problems. . . Er character. I was asked to get use to the distortion, but cannot. My problem with visability through the windshield has caused misjudgements in sign legibility, distance/physical appearance and sometimes resulted in eyestrain leading to headaches.

Seat belts failed to restrain properly during collision.

Passenger seatbelt will not lock passenger in place in the event of accident. Dealership has acknowledged the problem, replaced the belt one time. Problem still exists. Currently waiting for a second replacement. Rear brakes only wore out and required replacement. 5,000 miles prior they had been checked by the dealership and reported to be "line new". Front brakes are still fine at 48,000 miles.

Driver side seat belt locks when pulling across body to hook and once released not recoiling properly, 2 service visits.

The seat belt catch for both the driver and passenger is too short, causing difficulty finding, especially when center console is down.
