Shift gear assembly failure.
Wipers will not turn off. Turn signals are working along with lights except the wipers.
In 2013 I bought a new Dodge Dart limited from a Dodge dealer. I bought the car in March and by October when it got cooler outside, it was evident there were some electrical issues related to the uconnect screen blanking out and dash lights flickering while driving or when abs engaged, and engine and battery lights on. The whole car seemed like it was resetting as everything electrical flickered and turned off and then on again. I took the car back to the dealership while it was under warranty at least 3 times to no avail. It would sometimes come back on after turning the car off for a period of time but then it turned off and stayed off for days. The Dodge mechanics claimed they could not get the problem to come up for them at all during yearly visits from 2014-2018. I researched the internet for solutions and disconnecting and reconnecting the battery seemed to fix it so that became a temporary resolution. After a while it became much more consistent and the battery trick didn't always work anymore. So I went to a second Dodge dealership in 2019 when my car was at the end of it's warranty and they did see the issue occur and decided to replace the screen all together. That next winter the problem came back so I went back to the dealership and this time they replaced the body control module. It's the next winter and the center console is completely out so I cannot control hazard lights, the turn signals don't make noise, backup camera is out, seat controls don't work, rear defrost never turns on but the front defrost blasts hot air constantly causing fog. I feel unsafe as I cannot see out of the rear window due to consistent under 40 degrees temps. The dash lights went completely out yesterday and I could not see my speedometer, but it came back on 60 min later. The engine and battery lights are on constantly since the weather changed. The dash lights are a huge safety concern as I don't know how fast I'm driving and it happens while the car is in motion.
The windshield wipers do not turn off no matter what . Nothing was wrong with them before . It started all a sudden when I would signal. Then then they stayed on. I have read many others Dodge Dart owners have the same issue. . I have seen there is a recall for the 2016 but not the 2013 that has the same issues.
I was trying to use the windshield washer while driving home and the wipers turned on but no fluid came out. I assumed I was out of fluid and tried to turn the wipers off to find they stayed on while when I put them in the off position. I tried to change the speed of the wipers and they just stayed in the normal on speed no matter what setting I set them at including off. So for the next 40 miles I drove into the sun on a 90 degree day with the wipers on. There were no warning lights or anything. I took it to the repair shop and they assessed that it was the wiper functions on the multifunction switch malfunctioned, even though the turn signal and headlight functions remained intact, and the switch needed to be replaced, a part that costs $497. 66. I decided against the repair at the time and they disconnected the wiper motor for me so the wipers were not continuously on and potentially ruining the windshield, although leaving me completely blind if it were to start to rain. I have since traded in the vehicle for another one so I can't offer it up for inspection but I can get you my records.
Windshield wipers came on one day after using the turn signal and have not shut off. Multifunction switch has been replaced and issue is not resolved. Currently the wiper motor is disconnected to prevent wipers from running continuously. Dodge customer service has told me there is no recall and there is nothing they can do. Dealership wants money to run diagnostic and then more money for labor to fix the issue they find. This needs to be investigated as a safety issue for distraction and visibility for the driver.
My Dodge Dart wipers remain turned on, with no ability to control the speeds or use windshield wiper fluid. After inspecting, the control ribbon cable rubs against plastic whenever blinkers are used. This is a very common issue and almost caused a crash when driving in bad weather. Dodge needs a recall because of this design. I can have the part replaced, however it could just reoccur again. The vehicle only has 44,000 miles.
My windshield wipers and washers won't turn on anymore. And I've searched up this problem to try to fix it, but it seems that there are hundreds of people who had the same problem with this make and model of car. It can cause major accidents due to not being able to see during heavy rains because the I couldn't turn on the wipers to wipe the rain waters away. Driving back from warren, in to fort wayne, in was a scary trip through the I-69 south and us 33 s route, the heavy rain blinded and covered everything on the windshield, and the roads and other mv was hardly able to see, all I can see was a glimpse of blurry yellow lights from the semi trucks. Please have this recall, it's very important.
Used my turn signals and wipers came on and would not stop unless engine was turned off cost $739. 00 to repair car, I believe this is a recallable event?this has happened to other Dodge customer.
The contact owns 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the windshield wipers failed to stop. The driver's side windshield wiper detached from the vehicle. Additionally, after driving at various speeds the vehicle failed to start. The tpms warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to w&l Subaru service center (535 point township dr, northumberland, PA 17857, (888) 739-7206) where diagnosed that the lever and ribbon needed to repaired. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 53,000.
The interior lights, trunk lights and cigarette lighter stopped working. The windshield wipers started sticking in the on position and then got to where they just would not shut off. I took the car to the dealership where they changed the bcm module for nearly 600. 00 only to find it was not the problem. I do not have answers but see numerous complaints related to 2013 Dodge Dart windshield wipers not turning off and people paying upwards of 1000. 00 to try to remedy the issue. This should not be our responsibility. The issue is present whenever the car is on. The mechanic said the wiper motor is getting 12 volts even while the car is off!.
My shifting cable disconnected from transmission again when I shifted from park.
Hello, my car's windshield wipers will not turn off and windshield washer fluid stopped working about a week ago. I drove it to the repair shop to get an estimate. On the way back, a passing vehicle threw some dirt onto the the front windshield and the action of the wipers caused it to smear, making it difficult to see. I could also not use the washer fluid to clear the mud. I'm very concerned about the safety of anyone needing to drive my car. Thank you for looking into this problem for me. Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. While driving and making a left turn, the windshield wipers engaged independently and have not shut off. The failure occurred after the turn signal was activated. In addition, the sprayers for the wiper fluid did not work, which affected the contact's visibility while driving. The contact called the manufacturer and was informed that they could not assist until the multi function control switch was shipped and no longer on backorder. The manufacturer claimed to not be aware of the failure even though the contact found a lot of information about it online. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 89,500.
The window wipers won't stop even when I attempted to turn it off. It won't turn off. Then I replaced with a new wipers, it won't stop. Then raining, the window is hard to see during the rainy. When I turn the light signal on to turn right; the wipers turns on by itself. It's frustrating and safety concerns. It's getting worse.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the windshield whipers did not stop, when the button was depressed ( they been on since 10/06/19 ). The vehicle was taken to the dealer keffer Chrysler/Dodge, 8214 e independence blvd, charlotte, nc 28227, they determined that the windshield whiper switch had to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Bp.
I was driving down the highway when it was raining then it stopped then it started up again and went to turn on my wipers and they wouldnt turn on, so I called a buddy of mine thats a mechanic and he told me its probly the steering column ribbon broke and sure enough I took it to Dodge and thats what it was. This should be recalled for a defect and should be replaced at no charge this is a almost $500. 00 part to replace it.
The windshield wiper stalk malfunctions, causing the wipers to stay in the on position even when the switch on the stalk says off. Through normal driver use, the spring/ribbon behind the stalk breaks or severs and use of wipers and mist is compromised. With wipers only working at one speed, in a heavy rain or no rain at all, the drivers vision is affected which could result in a crash. Researching online in Dart forums and other posts, this issue is prevalent among this model of vehicle. The faulty wiper stalk could also be an indicator of a failing bcm. In my specific instance, the car was in motion and after attempting to mist my windshield and clear it of debris, no mist was dispensed and the wipers stayed on permanently.
The multi-function swithc on the vehicle which controls the wipers, high beams, and turn signals is known to break through wear and tear or normal use. The switch is ran by a ribbon which controls the different functions of the switch and through normal use this part is known to break. My 2013 Dodge Dart rallye had this happen causing the windshield wipers to not turn off creating a safety and visibility issue for myself and my wife. There are numerous complaints on the internet about this issue yet Dodge refuses to fix the issue knowing that the part is faulty. The total cost to have my vehicle repaired was over $900 for a part that shold be replaced by Dodge as it is a known safety issue.
First my wiper fluid would not spray, which caused the check engine light to come on. Then, one day I went to put my turn signal on and my wipers would not turn off from that moment forward. It was not raining and the wipers were not on already. My car was in park when this happened. Parked on a suburban street. I was advised it's an issue with the ribbon in the control arm. I have avoided accidents, but I also cannot drive at all if it's raining. I had my friend cut the power from the motor b/c of course no fuse. My wipers wouldn't stop moving and then they started stopping in the middle of the windshield while driving which became even more dangerous. It's extremely costly to fix.
Wipers dont shut of when cat is running continue running on the same speed, they will not turn off until the car is shut.
Wipers have turned and will not shut off while the car is running and am unable to change the speed of the wipers. It started with them turning on when the left blinker was activated, but they would shut off when the blinker did. They are now turning on every time the car is started and will not shut off until the car is turned off. They washer sprayer does not work anymore either. This is very distracting when trying to drive under normal conditions because the wipers keep moving in front of you and they screech horribly since the windshield is dry and the washer fluid no longer works. This is also very dangerous when driving in the rain because you can not change the speed of the wipers to keep up with the heaviness of the rain. I have found through many forums that this is a very common problem with this vehicle make and model.
The wiring cable that is inside the wiper control arm to the left of the steering wheel that controls the windshield wipers has cracked due to the fraile wires and the continued actions of using the wipers. The wipers stay on at a slow speed all of the time. Unable to control the function. Wears out hw motor for the arms / wipers, and unsafe to drive car. When car is started, the arms rotate non stop/ cannot find a replacement fix for the problem. My mechanic said he can make repairs if there was replacement parts. I don't want to die driving this car. I have been able to avoid car crashed up to now. I need the car to get to work every day. The trade in value.
The ribbon cable that controls the windshield wipers has been severed, due to repeated use of the blinkers on the same control. The windshield wipers always run now, at a low speed. They can not be stopped, sped up, and can no longer use the wiper fluid dispenser.
Takata recall transmission issues and blind spot detector issues while in motion my right blind spot detector will turn even if nobody is in the proper parameters of the vehicle.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. While driving unknown speeds, the windshield wipers failed to shut off. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to hoover Dodge (195 marymeade dr, summerville, SC 29483, (843) 873-1114) where it was diagnosed that the wiper mechanism needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000.
My 2013 Dodge Dart sxt windshield wipers will not turn off! this is because of the switch not working or it's an electrical issue. Turn signals still work but this is a hazard that can get driver hurt. It adds an distraction.
1st incident: drove my girlfriend to work. Came home and parked the car. Went back out and it kept saying gear not found. They had to put a wire on my transmission module, or said I could by a new one. 2nd for about the last year it won't find the gear. Says go to neutral then drive. Sometimes won't go to anything. 3rd. Wipers went on and wouldn't turn off. Sprayer doesn't work. Lady on the phone said the recall was fixed in 2016. But obviously it is still an issue.
Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, when the wind shield wipers failed to turn off. The contact stated she had to turn off the ignition to turn off the wind shield wipers. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. Dp.
I was driving and had my wipers on of course because it was raining and it stopped raining so I went to turn them off but it never turned off. So I took it to the dealer and was told the ribbon inside was broken and that it was going to be over 500$ to fix it. So I looked up the fuse to take it out so it would turn off but turns out there isn't any fuse for it. I'm looking through the internet to see if anyone else had this problem and there are actually a lot of people this has happened to. I believe Dodge should fix this at no cost. It's happening to a good chunk of people.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. When the contact started the vehicle, the wiper blades activated and would not shut off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the windshield wiper switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000.
I am told that the wiper switch is bad and it costs $852. 00 to replace if you can find one and then Dodge wants $400. 00 labor to install this part.
As soon as you put the key in and turn the vehicle on to acc the windshield wipers are always on. Sitting still or moving.
Driving approximately 25mph when the wipers turned on without me turning them on, full speed, and refused to turn off. Took it to the dealer where they told me it was the control switch which can only be purchased at a dealer, very expensive part.
My car is currently drivable however I recently found out that I need the oil pressure monitor replaced along with the wiring in the steering system due to oil damage from the oil pressure monitor being broken. The radio and rear view camera also need to be replaced. These are too many issues for a fairly new vehicle. Apparently there have been numerous changes complaints about this vehicle but I'm continuously being told that there are no recalls despite ongoing issues with the vehicle that have to deal with manufacturing issues. The radio started malfunctioning over a year ago. The windshield wipers/oil pressure switch issues have only been happening approximately 2 months. The rear view mirror stopped working today. The car has also has issues stall no, not starting, and cutting off while the car is stopped for about a year now.
