Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle's gear shifted into neutral independently and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. An error message appeared, indicating to shift the vehicle into reverse and then into drive. The contact continued to drive and the failure recurred. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road as it stalled. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. On another occasion, while driving out of state, the gear shifter failed to shift out of gear. The vehicle was towed to an unknown dealer in las vegas, nv where it was diagnosed that the transmission was not shifting correctly and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and was not repaired. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 19v293000 (power train), but the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000.
