1 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/10/2026

Car failing to start. Stating vehicle not in park while actually being in park. Also vehicle states that engine is warming wait to start no matter the temperature outside. Waited this morning for 2hrs for the vehicle to start it did not start. This is an emergency hazard for a vehicle to not start due to a computer issue. The current recall I attempted to go to the manufacturer however the manufacturer hasn’t formed a remedy to resolve the issue yet.

2 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 04/26/2026

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2015 Dodge Dart sxt with an active safety recall that currently has no available remedy. My vehicle experienced failure related to the recall issue, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable and requiring repair. At the time of failure, I was informed that the official recall remedy was not yet available and that the necessary part was on backorder. Because no recall remedy was available, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair the vehicle in order to restore operability. I also incurred significant rental vehicle expenses while my car remained in the repair shop awaiting parts. I contacted stellantis/Dodge customer care multiple times requesting assistance or reimbursement related * the repair costs associated with the recall-related failure, and * rental expenses incurred while the vehicle was out of service. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as a recall-related consumer safety and financial hardship issue.

3 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

5 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/17/2025

I came home from work, (drove 18 miles) and parked, walked towards my building and I heard a noise, as if something turned on under the hood. Like a electrical motor spinning. And it was not the fan because that one had already turned off. I walk back to the car and pop the hood, white smoke starts coming out and in less than 2 minutes a huge flame comes straight out from the passenger side of the hood. Called the fire department. Fire was on for 4 minutes, neighbor mechanics came running with fire extinguishers and put out the fire before the firefighters arrived. Too many parts melted and damaged. So far estimate is at $4,000. I do not have the estimate on paper, since at the moment I did not have budget to fix my car. My car was perfectly fine, services got done regularly. Never had issues other than wear and tear. I've had that car for almost 10 years.

6 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/07/2025

Radio doesn't always turn on, the vehicle doesn't always go into park, the key switch doesn't always go into the lock position and stays in acc mode.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/06/2025

I was notified in November 2025 that the transmission shift cable in my 2015 Dodge Dart was being recalled. There was no remedy at the time, however it is now the end of March 2026 and a remedy remains unavailable. This has put my safety and the safety of others on the road at risk because, per the safety recall notice I was sent, "[failure of the transmission shift cable] can cause an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of park function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to other outside the vehicle". I have re-confirmed with my local dealership that the remedy is still unavailable and had it inspected by their mechanics. There are no warning lights on the dash board relating to this issue; only the tire pressure sensor light remains. This is due to mission tpms sensors that I've planned to address at a later time because they don't affect the car's ability to drive. I attempted to pay for the repair myself and submit for reimbursement, however was informed by a trusted mechanic that that was not possible because a better part has not yet been made. Replacing the malfunctioning cable might land me back in the exact same position I am in now and for my safety and that of others it was better to wait until the manufacturer found the remedy. That was over 2 weeks ago and the status remains the same. I find it incredibly irresponsible on the part of the manufacturer to allow this issue to continue for almost 6 months.

8 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 10/16/2025

I have an open safety recall that has no available fix. My dealership confirmed they cannot repair it and advised me it may be unsafe. Because I cannot safely operate the vehicle, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback or financial assistance toward a replacement vehicle. Please escalate this to a case manager.

9 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 10/15/2025

I am the original owner of this vehicle and have used this vehicle as my primary vehicle that has been well maintained in excellent mechanical condition with no accidents. The issue is the continuous flexing of the wire harness routed from the truck to body opening which continues to wiring shorts and breakage resulting in failure of the rear back up lamps, rear taillamp lighting and back up camera operation. Failure of these critical safety related items provide increased risk of personnel injury and property due to loss of rear visibility to the vehicle operator along with disabling the back up light signature to warn surrounding vehicle traffic of intended backup maneuvering leading to personnel injury and vehicle collision. A caution signal of backup lamp outage appears on the instrument panel along with continued outage and flicking of the rear camera function. This wire harness has been repaired at the Chrysler Dodge dealership multiple times via a deductible warranty charged to vehicle owner, never resolving the failure from once again reoccurring. Recently the rear camera and backup lamps have again failed which the Chrysler dealership has identified as being within the previously repaired wire harness. Due to the multiple times the dealership has attempted to make repairs, the dealership service records now state the wiring failures can no longer be repaired due to the poor harness condition. These aforementioned safety lighting /rear lighting devices are no longer functioning and vehicle service being denied. Repairs to this wire harness have only been made at the Chrysler dealership. This wire harness is a well known problem area to owners and a "nuisance problem" to vehicle repair technicians. A more robust harness design and routing engineered to account for wire harness flexing to account for typical trunk open/closing to maintain the expected integrity and operation of these safety items.

Hello my car has so many safety and risks the engine electric and transmission very dangerous please help.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/13/2025

Vehicle has active safety recall a0c/NHTSA 25v-674 for transmission shift cable, but the manufacture states remedy is not yet available. Recall notice was recived in October 2025, and no repair has been offered. Vehicle is now experiencing worsening symptoms including transmission slipping/skipping gears and shutting off while driving. Most recently vehicle begun overheating and heater started blowing hot air that can not be turned off. Vehicle has lost center screen/radio system with backup camera. It has gone blank and is no longer functioning dealership advised there is no available fix and offered a rental per owners expense which is not financially feasible. Vehicle is unsafe to drive, especially with a young child who regularly rides in vehicle. Manufacture has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.

13 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

I am the second owner to own this car had it for 4 months only 27,000 miles I called my dealer to see about the gear shifting cable recall that happened but they said it was fixed in 2019, my car was driving fine now it is no longer shifting out of park I think the recall was not done correctly.

14 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/17/2025

I am unable to remove my key after it is in park. I have the unplug my negative terminal to get the key to come out.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

The contact owns a 2016 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v674000 (power train); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to autozone to test the battery, alternator, and transmission fluid. A mechanic diagnosed that the thermostat was sticking. The vehicle was then taken to another mechanic, who replaced an ac cord due to liquid leaking from underneath the vehicle. This mechanic suggested replacing the thermostat if the check engine warning light remained illuminated. While at a stop sign, the vehicle jerked before accelerating, and while driving approximately 35-45 mph. The vehicle was driven to the mother's residence, where the vehicle remained for 3 days before being restarted. The vehicle remained parked for approximately a week before the contact drove back to the residence, and the check engine warning light and the battery light were illuminated. The vehicle remained parked while the wheel bearing, headlights, and oil change were repaired. A certified mechanic replaced the thermostat, and another inspected the vehicle but could not identify any other failures. After the repair was completed, the contact noticed that the vehicle continued to jerk while driving at various speeds, and the sensation was more prominent whenever the ac unit was activated. While driving approximately 35 mph and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle decelerated, the battery light illuminated, and the vehicle lost power. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and coast downhill into their grandmother's driveway nearby. After waiting a minute, the contact started the vehicle and was able to drive to the residence, approximately 5 minutes away, at 20 mph to avoid additional failure. The vehicle was taken to autozone, where no battery or alternator failure was found. The mechanic suggested it might b.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

I purchased it and within two months the cars breaks were slow to respond, or would lock up and the parking break did not work. The car suddenly shifts into neutral while driving on the high way and surface roads, loses power and has nearly caused multiple accidents. Other times when I try to shift, it does not respond. Car stalls going up hill and at stoplights. I took it for diagnostics twice and both places stated that the symptoms are mirroring the earlier recall problems. One said the spark plugs are ruined from some other issue. When I called the manufacturer they stated that it had previously been repaired on recall. I contacted the dealership where I purchased it and they told me the car was sold "as is". The problems only got worse. The battery would go dead all of the time. I replaced it and still had the same problem. Windows wouldn't go up and down properly, sun roof would not open and close. Every time I used the blinker to turn right, the windshield wipers would turn on. Now they will not turn off at all. It also turned out that the tires had dry rot. When I went in for an oil change I was told that oil was back flowing into a part of the car that it shouldn't. Now I have to pay $300+ plus towing to have the dealership do a diagnostic so that I can ask the manufacturer to cover the cost of repairing it (again) because the first repairs done when the previous owner had it, did not work. The car is a death trap. At this point the car has been sitting until I can afford repairs because ive been scared to death to drive it. Too many near misses, once with a semi, when the car shut down while doing almost 70mph. It should be illegal to sell this car to anyone new or used. I have an appointment at the Dodge/Chrysler dealership for repairs, but since it was supposedly "fixed" previously, I have very little faith that it can or will be properly repaired.

17 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 04/24/2025

I am having an intermittent, no communication with tcm, active stabiliy control light comes on, the vehicle feels like it pops into neutral jarring the vehicle and once this happens I have code u0101 in pcm, abs, esm, bcm, ipc, rfh along with a u11c2 code in the pcm. Also sometimes when this happens if I turn the vehicle off it won’t start again. I have not brought it to the dealership as I can’t afford it, but 2013-2015 Dodge Dart has a recall for the tcm because of the tcm bracket, causing almost ever issue my vehicle has. And I was told it is engine specific but the 1. 4,2. 0, and 2. 4 all came with the same tcm and bracket. I aquired this vehicle 2 months ago and I have had the issue intermittently since I got it. I am a mechanic over 10 years and I have replaced the alternator due to the vehicle not starting after being parked. That seemed to fix the issue but several days later it happened again. Then I had no issue with a no start again until today. I replaced all the star connectors due to having communication codes in so many modules. And oddly enough I had no issues for several days, then the asc light came on and the vehicle jarred again but it only had a u0101 code in the abs module and sometimes the pcm but no other modules and also the problem was not happening daily like before I would go several days without a issue I would clear the codes and had no issue the rest of the day. Until today I just started the vehicle and while parked the light came on and I scanned it and it had codes in 6 modules again and it is now doing it back to back and I turn the engine off to clear the codes and they won’t clear and also the vehicle won’t start but if I cycle the key and open the door several times it allow the codes to eventually clear and the vehicle to start but shortly after the light comes back on and I have the same issue again. And it seems to happen mainly when I have a passenger. Because the tcm is on the passenger floor board.

18 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 01/09/2025

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, it was discovered that the key fob became inoperable. The contact stated that the vehicle was shut off and the contact was not able to remove the key fob from the ignition. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

19 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

?(fix info below) the issue: the ignition intermittently fails to rotate to the "off" position, locking the key fob in the column despite the vehicle being in "park. " this is a known flaw in the Dart’s sensitive electrical/shifter interface that can lead to total battery drain and theft risk. ? ?<>quick fixes to release the fob<> ?I. The "re-park" movement: simply shifting gears is often not enough. Restart the engine, physically reverse the vehicle a short distance, then drive forward back into your space before shifting into park. The physical movement of the car is often required to reset the transmission sensor. ?ii. The twist: when you first park, try a quick, sharp twist to the "off" position immediately. Catching the system quickly sometimes prevents it from locking the fob. ?iii. The inward firm method: if already stuck, push the fob firmly inward toward the steering column (as if you are inserting your fob) while simultaneously twisting hard to the left. Repeat a few times before doing the re-park method to see if this will work for you first. Run/acc>off (be firm but if it doesn't work you're not trying to force/break it). ?<>emergency security<> ?if the tricks above do not work and you must leave your vehicle, you can still lock it and get back in. Make sure you apply your handbrake first just incase. - ?physical key extraction: locate the small release slide on the back of your key fob. You can slide the metal emergency key out even while the fob is stuck in the ignition. ?- manual locking: use the door button, physical door locks or this metal key/a backup spare to manually lock the door/driver’s door from the in/outside. This prevents vehicle theft while the fob remains trapped. !!! safety conclusion!!! ?this issue highlights the volatile nature of the Dodge Dart's electrical system. While these workarounds are effective, the underlying sensor or shifter cable failure poses a recurring safety risk to owners.

20 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 01/01/2025

On 3/18/26 I reported a serious safety issue involving my vehicle, which currently has an open manufacturer recall with no available remedy. The vehicle has experienced multiple dangerous and malfunctioning conditions. First, the vehicle intermittently displays a dashboard message indicating that the vehicle is "not in park" even when it is clearly in the park position. When this occurs, I am unable to turn the vehicle off. I have had to wait approximately 15 minutes before the vehicle will allow me to shut it down. Second, while driving at approximately 40 mph, including while exiting the highway, the vehicle has stalled and completely shut off while in motion. This has occurred multiple times and created a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power during active driving. Additionally, the vehicle frequently displays a message stating "engine warming, please wait to start," even when weather conditions are warm. Most recently, at approximately 70 degrees outside, the vehicle would not start and continued to display the message. I waited approximately one hour attempting to start the vehicle before it randomly started. These issues appear to be worsening. I attempted to schedule repair for the open recall, but I was advised by the manufacturer that there is currently no remedy available. Due to the vehicle stalling in motion and preventing proper shutdown and startup, I believe this represents a serious safety defect that puts me and others at risk. The vehicle previously experienced stalling while driving in motion. I brought the vehicle in for a recall repair on 01/27/25. #u90 2014-2016 at davis moore after the recall repair, the stalling condition improved; however, the vehicle began experiencing additional serious issues including the vehicle not recognizing the park position, inability to shut off, and intermittent failure to start with "engine warming" messages. These ongoing defects continue to affect the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle.

21 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 12/31/2024

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while the vehicle was being serviced at jiffy lube, the mechanic became aware that coolant was leaking from the engine onto the radiator. The vehicle was then taken to aamco where it was diagnosed that the valve cover gasket was leaking oil into the engine and onto the transmission. The mechanic also informed the contact that there was a cord hanging from the bottom of the vehicle but could not determine where the cord needed to be connected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.

22 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/21/2024

Bcm module is faulty.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/01/2024

My car has an extremely bad rough idle. I’ve had an alignment done, new tires, new spark plugs. I’ve done so much work to this car. I have done some extremely deep research and it is a very common issue in the 2013 Dodge Dart. One thing I also read, is it could be caused due to all of the ground point nuts being painted over, not creating a strong circuit for the ground. That should be a recall because I cannot physically replace all of those nuts. If that’s not the issue, there needs to be an investigation to figure out why this car feels like it will stall out, or I’m going to lose a tire going 65 on the interstate. Something isn’t right with this car and the dealership needs to diagnose it for free knowing it’s such a common issue! I have a very trusted, fully certified mechanic, he has looked at my car, and he is stumped too. No one can figure this out.

24 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/12/2024

I have a few problems to be addressed because this car have a real safety issue. One issue been happening was car sometimes doesn’t start. This problem maybe stalling starting may delay in cases of personally emergency’s. Second, I got a recall letter having emissions issues? during this recall letter I receive my inspection sticker was due, then I got a rejected sticker because it did failed emissions as noticed. I tried getting issue resolve at few of the Dodge dealers nearby 3 places that’s the closest which were like almost an hour away, but there were a backlog of part not available? since those two issues I had and having time to try getting these recalls and issue resolved, dealer said not much of an issue and couldn’t find much issues? told the dealer I had recall and starter issues also with no check engine light on. The dealer did a diagnose on the car but couldn’t find actual problem but wanted to charge me on so much other things like spark plugs change before they can find the actual issue. I paid for the diagnose about 200+ out of pocket. Came to find out they diagnosed but now check engine light is on now and I looked under hood myself found they didn’t reconnect the engine coil to spark plug, maybe check and forget to reconnect? I reconnected myself and then no check engine lights. I had to check myself why can’t I start and then check fuse box under hood, found relay was damaged, shorted out reason why car had issues starting. This is after I changed the battery which was problem wasn’t the reason couldn’t start. I did my research on this deeply cause now I have a much bigger issue, which I was losing my brake lines. I almost got into an accident but luckily still have e-brakes. I believe it’s the brake line front driver started leaking now. On top of brake issue, no brake lights came on still. I checked for any recalls or any updates and found there were the same or typical issues? I did checked my car VIN # and it said “0 unrepaired on my vehicle”?.

25 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 06/27/2024

When I try to change the gear it says gear is not available and it blinks it says transmission service.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 06/04/2024

Loss of brakes at random times. Pedal will go all the way to the floor before stopping.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 06/02/2024

The car keeps stalling and several scans, thousands into repairs to include the dealership itself. I’m convinced that it’s one of the recalls power train and engine keeps randomly stalling. This is a huge safety concern that will result in an accident. It happens after start up, at stop lights and signs and randomly throughout driving. I don’t feel safe and I’m taking it back to the dealership to do the job right .

28 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/21/2024

I have a warning light on my car for p1065 and p1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes. This causes the car to shake and slow down suddenly in the middle of the road. The car stops to shake only when I shut it off and turn it back on right away. Another issue is that my car key get stuck in the ignition sometimes after shutting it ofand I have to wait a few seconds for the key to come off or press the button on the gearshift handle a few times to make it come out. I wonder if this is related to the transmission shift cable bushing safety recall repair that was done a few years ago on Dodge Dart vehicles lastly, I have been getting the "parking light out" warning messages on my car dashboard but all the light appears to be working fine. I have looked up these issues online and they appear to be common problems faced by Dodge Dart owners.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/07/2024

Ecm causing car to accelerate.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 02/29/2024

Electrical system crashes which makes the car lose the ability to brake, accelerate, and steer. The center display and general display both go out at random times. Sometimes more issues are prevalent when this happens and sometimes less. I do have several videos of this issue occurring.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 02/06/2024

My car kept dying on me randomly flashing a light on my dash of a lightning bolt in between two curved lines. I researched it and it was saying that my throttle positioner was going out.

32 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 12/12/2023

The ecm/throttle positioning system has been faulting for a while and only getting worse causing the car to just randomly steal with no power. Usually can shut off and restart car and itll be good for 1 min - 30 min you never really know. I got stranded in the middle of the highway and couldn't start my car after it died while driving down the road.

33 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 10/26/2023

Ongoing issue of the key fob getting stuck in the ignition. You have to take the cover of the gear shift off and push the relay to release the lock in the ignition. This has been on multiple Dodge Darts that I have found. The key gets stuck and cannot get it out.

34 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 10/05/2023

As I read the above comments/complaints on the 2014 Dodge Dart, I have realized that we all are having the same issues with the recall, the car not engaging in park, and the keyfob not working properly where it takes from 5-30 minutes to turn the car off because it is still in the acc mode. Now the car has started yet another problem that it doesn’t want to start. I paid for a tow to the repair shop and they checked everything out and could find absolutely nothing wrong, no codes showing up, nothing. I had bought a new battery, was about to replace the ignition switch and/or starter but the shop had experience with Dodge 2014 before and the same issues with no apparent issues?? I did pay for another key and fob which wasted $200 because even afterwards the fob wouldn’t release due to the car not going into the park position 100% and I’m still having all these problems. It is definitely a safety issue and we all are left here driving this piece of junk that the manufacturer doesn’t seem to have any answer or as they say “remedy” for the issue. And that’s another thing- we are having issues not an issue. This problem has more involved than the recall and for the amount of people that have submitted a complaint should be an eye opener for the manufacturer - because most people don’t even report it because they don’t know to and the service department is going to get the money! there is and has been something going on with the entire braking, parking, transmission, cable, the last recall my car I was told wasn’t affected however the brakes went out totally without any warning or problem before hand. Said there was fluid or something that messed it up and it cost me $2000 to repair it when the exact issue was going on with the Dodge Dart 2013-2014 but of course my car was not in that recall even though it had the same problem as the cats which were affected by the recall. I’ll never never purchase another Dodge and would advise anyone else not to purchase one.

35 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 09/21/2023

The micro shift on the shifter does not push the lever up enough to register that the car is in park. You think your car is in park until you go to take the key out and it does not come out. Or I parked in a parking spot thinking I put it in park as my car displayed park and it started rolling. There is a whole forum about this issue . So I know I’m one of hundreds. This is really unsafe.
