When slowing down the fwc warning comes on and the vehicle completely shuts down. I have to put it in park and restart it. This is very unsafe, as it happens at intersections, turnpikes, sometimes when turning causing big safety issues and we are lucky has not caused a crash yet.
The alternator suddenly failed with no warning lights or lamps indicating a problem. I was driving when the car suddenly stalled and I managed to get home . Heavy smoke was coming from under the hood and when I raised the hood heavy smoke was coming up out of the alternator and I could smell burning wires. I had it towed to elder Dodge and they confirmed that the alternator was burnt out and it fried the pcm and other electrical components. The safety issue was it could've caught the whole engine on fire and it could have caused a wreck with traffic behind us. I contacted the fca and sent all information that they requested for reimbursement but they refuse to reimburse me for a faulty alternator that short circuited and caught on fire. I am contacting you for help with this matter so they will reimburse me for damages done to my Durango.
Car dies while driving at speed. Also will die at low speeds such as when turning or parking or waiting at a stop light. Sometimes have to wait before restart if dies at speed. If dies at low speed will start right back up. Dealer says no codes. Even when it died while on the techs computer he could not see a problem. These cars have been notorious for electrical problems due to totally integrated power module. Fuel relay recall did not solve the issue.
The engine valve stem failed prematurely due to poor quality manufacturing. Due to this low quality product it has created low compression in the engine. This has triggered multiple codes such as misfire, etc, and has affected the acceleration of the vehicle as well as performance and at times from even starting. My family's safety has been put at risk due to stalling of the vehicle in traffic. This was inspected by a proper mechanic who looked into my engine with a camera and used diagnostic tools. There was no lights active during fault. .
The vehicle cuts off when you slow your speed down.
We were sitting in the driveway, getting ready to go, and all of the sudden the passenger side airbag exploded open, without any warning hitting my passenger in the head. There was no warning at all, it just deployed. Apparently this happens quite a lot and now I am concerned about the driver's side doing it.
Alternator failure.
I was driving down the highway at 70 mph and the car stalled shortly after the etc indicator light started flashing next to a "fcw off" and orange triangles appeared in my side view mirrors. The engine light came on, acc off indicator light came on along side with the esc light. It started back up so I took it to firestone for a diagnostic, they said it was some minor electrical issues but the torque converter on the transmission needed to be fixed first and informed me that they didnt do any transmission work. They referred me to a-team transmissions, took it a got a second diagnostic and I was told that it wasn't a transmission problem but suggested it was the abs system. They said they didnt work on it so I took it to a third auto care shop and they said it was the mass air flow sensor. Had it cleaned and the problem still resulted in jerking, losing compression, and occasionally wanting to stall. I couldn't get a straight and I didn't want to pay for anymore diagnostics. Hooked up my obd ii diagnostic system and the only codes I got were p0113, p0300, p0304, and p0340. Parked my car in my back yard and tried to avoid using it until it has been fixed.
My car cuts off sometimes when I'm coming to a complete stop and also does it when breaking to make a turn. Cuts off in the middle of a turn. Very dangerous. At first it was infrequent but its happening once or twice a week. Usually this happens on city streets, hasn't happened on the highway yet.
My fianc and I were headed to his parents house and when my fianc started to go left towards our turn and the Durango just died. Lights and everything were still on but no steering, luckily there were no other vehicles around as it could have caused an accident. Once he got the Durango stopped he put it in park pushed the start hitting and it started up just fine. Can this be related to the fuel pump recall?.
Puerta trasera DE control remoto no cierra adecuadamente el vehculo parado no encaja en el candado.
My vehicle shuts off during turns and when slowing to come to a stop. It is frightening. I've taken it to a dealer who tells me they've never heard of this happening with my make and model yet I have read similar concerns as mine on the internet when I started researching it. Is there a fix for this before it costs me my life? it happens sporadically but once is too much.
Transmission cooler is leaking transmission fluid everywhere and the truck lost power on the highway in rush hour traffic the engine started to rev and the truck just slowed to a stop with semi trucks flying past in the middle of the highway.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, and when the vehicle starts the forward warning control setting failed. The contact stated the traction control light illuminated, the vehicle does brake. The cruise light illuminates because it is disabled before the failure. The dealership was not contacted about the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 130,000. Bh.
Periodically no start which leaves me stranded very far from home when traveling for sp. Med. Care. This summer I was crossing an overpass to enter the on-ramp to major interstate which makes me cross in front of 4 lanes oncoming traffic and my car just died!! I was headed directly for the oncoming traffic with my family onboard. I was stranded in 100+ degree weather being disabled was very difficult for me now with 2 teens needing driving hrs for permit I'm terrified to allow them to drive my only car. Dodge you need to recall my entire car and replace this with something safe for my family!.
My 2011 Dodge Durango has trouble starting on the first start. Mechanic said there was a bulletin regarding the issue and informed me that we should try updating the software. That did not work. Durango continues to sputter when it is started. It eventually does start either on its own or after another try. Will attempt another solution at next regularly scheduled service.
The vehicle is stalling while trying to start , the vehicle will act like it's not getting and fuel while driving and will preform a jerking motion as I continue to press the gas pedal down trying to get some fuel. The vehicle was in motion on a 4 lane highway. The cause of the problem is a faulty fuel system relay , I have done research over a dozen time talked to certified vehicle men and it is a recall on 2011 Dodge Durango's.
2 complaints 1st my trucks gear shift has been locking up when running an say I stop at a store an run it I leave it running but locked an when I come get bac in an try to put it in drive its locked I cnt move it as if it was remotely started I have to turn the truck off an restart it to fix issue this also has happened when I dnt lock it ex. I go get my check from work I pull up right to the door get out I leave it unlocked bc I only walk bout 5 steps to inside grab my check come out takes less than 30 seconds get in try to put in drive it eont move I have to power off an on to get it to work I kno it shudnt do that only wen I use remote. 2nd complaint when driving say I turn the corner an get on gas to accelerate it will feel as if its lost some power as if its died. Same when I'm goin straight an give it gas itll go then seems as it just slows down I have to push on pedal more for it to pick up speed. Lately it's been while driving itll jerk a few times out of nowhere I can be on a straightaway an itll just get to jerking. Can you please look into these issues for consumer safety. Its scary. Before the alternator recall I was goin thru one of our main intersections an it jus lost all power everything jus shut off an like 3 seconds later it all fired back up an continued rollin days later my alternator went out an left me stranded at the carwash. I had to pay out of pocket then it was recalled. I was reimbursed but I'm jus worried bout my families safety so please look into the mentioned complaints in this. I had to pick a date of occurence to submit this so im putting any date but these things have happened numerous times and seems to be happening more often lately. Thank you.
Heat system is not working propelly. Right side remain off , whole system starting delayed and suddenly stop .
Vehicle is still stalling after I have already taken it to the dealer to have recall has been addressed. It has been two weeks since the dealer fixed the recalls and this is the second day my car has stalled while taking my kids to school.
I had just started driving on the freeway when my dash started dinging and my temp went from cold to extremely hot so I pulled over. There was plenty of oil and water in it(I double checked). I started it up again and it went cold again,as I started driving to the nearest exit off the freeway a few noments later to have it looked at,it all of the sudden it woundnt let me give it gas. It slowed way down in the middle of the freeway. I got it off the freeway eventually it went back to normal then quickly started to make an awful sound. I stopped the car again for the fourth time and opened the hood and hot smoke vame out. After I let it cool for 2 hours on the side of the road it woundnt start. It wanted to but no fuel was getting to where it was suppose too. I had it looked at and no blown rod. They said ot looked like something to do with the fuel something or other. I had it tolled to my home 335 miles away where it sits broke and it cost me 300. 00 thu aaa. Two days later on 8/17/18 I get a recall notice on the brake booster and alternator diode thermal fatigue. The problem I have is my car almost caused a huge multi car collision on I 30 in TX. And it stranded me in a bad neighborhood. .
For the past 4 years the car will automatically stop while driving on the freeway and in the street. I have taken the care to the shop and they can not find anything wrong with the car, but the care still stall when driving.
I have had many problems with my 2011 Dodge Durango. I bought it in 2012. Since then it's been in and out of the shop. I think if I'm bot mistaken its been service more then 10 times. They have replaced the tipm in the past. Well it's been a while but recently it started acting up again. I was driving and all the guages on the dashboard went crazy. Turning off and on all the warning light started turning on and off also. My windshield wipers turned on also. The heater turned on I couldn't turn it off. As I was driving I couldn't even control the steering. It was the scariest thing like my car was possessed. This is unbelievable that a vechicle you so much money can just do this. I was scared for my and my children's safety. And there was nothing I could do. I tried my best to stay calm and I just foced on getting home. Which is where I was headed. I made it home parked in the drive way. Ny car barely cleared tge sidewalk into the driveway and wouldn't move any farther. It was making an ugly loud rumbling noise. And it started smoking alot out if the exhaust. It shut off and hasn't turned in since then. I sat there trying to caln down because my adrenaline was going from being scared for my children. And also my extended warranty has expired so any repair cost will have to be paid out of pocket. I remember when I told my husband I wanted a Dodge Durango. Because it was my dream vehicle. Now it's more like a nightmare. If my friends ask if I like my Durango and if I would recommend they buy one I tell them no. This is sad because we have always been a Dodge family. . And now im sitting at home with no vehicle to get my kids to school. And I can't even get to work either. Money down the drain. You would think Dodge would make a dependable car for their loyal customers.
Recall t36 2011 Dodge Durango while driving, my Durango began losing power. When I pulled over and lifted the hood, smoke was pouring from the alternator. It was towed to a mechanic, who informed me that the alternator burned up and my 3 month old battery was now dead. After the battery and alternator were replaced, it was discovered that the power control module was fried and would need to be replaced.
Rear bolt that attaches electric lift strut sheered of and the rear liftgate slammed down on my hand.
Right @ about 10 miles and hour there is a cluck noise @ the rear of the truck. Dodge techs can pin point the cause. It cause some performance issue between 60 and 75. I took the truck in multiple time and they first told me it was the drive shaft. After fixing it the problem still continues. Also @120,000 I had a worn camshaft and lifters.
Under light acceleration these is a rattling/ vibration from front driver's side. Typically between 1000-3000rpm in any gear or road condition. Sound is easily audible from inside from all passengers. Have replaced wheel bearings, struts, sway bars trying to fix with no luck. 5. 7 hemi, automatic, auto awd/4low.
Car wont run I switch the key on it sounds like the engine entirely shaking and it just sounds like its going to start but it doesn't it shuts off on it's own. I got this car from carmax summer of 2014 I'm still paying for it every month I've fixed it out of pocket for the alternator. Which was one of the recalls it had. I took it about two months ago to the Chrysler center near by and had even more various recalls taken care of. I'm really disappointed that this time I called and checked in with the Chrysler center I took it to is saying there's no new recalls on my car. I shouldn't have to pay monthly for a car that I cant depend on its now sitting in my driveway. I need help.
I was driving along the highway and the truck suddenly jumps into 4lo, so I toggle with the awd transfer case switch, and after a few minutes of doing so it finally starts driving right. It happened with my wife and son, and they were almost wiped by a 18 wheeler when it jumped into 4lo and slowed down abruptly and then just died on the highway, this has happened a number of times, now the transfer case is damaged, and the transfer case switch is no longer available because they are faulty. It got so bad that it stopped changing gears, it would only go to park, but it wouldn't engage because of the switch cancelling out the transfer case motor.
My car has been unexpectedly been shutting off while driving in the middle of roads for at least the past two years. Maybe about five times now. And now hat I think of it, at least two of those times I was turning or attempting to. Took it in while my extended warranty was valid and they said it isn't covered. Even if not, this is so dangerous! if I hadn't of recognized the problem this morning, I would have been creamed by about ten cars coming my way. The fcw light comes on and the entire vehicle shuts off. I have done the cleaning thing and obviously they know at the dealership this is an issue but I don't know what else to do. Is it going to take someone being plowed into in order for them to have to fix it?.
Burning smell coming from front vent area. No warning lights came on, no check engine light, nothing. Car is not heating up. . Then all of a sudden a poof of white smoke comes out from front dash somewhere? do not know exactly where as I was driving on freeway at the time. It stopped within a few seconds. Got home and button to open garage not working. Also bluetooth stopped working. Don't know whats going on but seems to be electrical and unsafe. Smells like wires burning.
Several times a week with no specific time of day, heat outside, drive time etc. , my 2011 Dodge Durango will act like it will start and it will continue to turn over and over until it finally stops. Eventually after a few tries, it will start. We changed the battery thinking maybe it was that, but nothing. . . I have read a few "complaints" that have had the same thing and they are saying it is a tipm problem. My vehicle isn't under the recall list, but it is within the year they are recalling it.
May 2017 my daughter was driving her 2011 Dodge Durango with 68k with two kids in the car, the battery light came on and then went completely dead shortly after. We got it to an electrical shop to find the battery was dead and the 180 amp alternator had stopped operating. After some researching I found a recall (p60) and it only applied to 160 amp alternator. I called Chrysler (case #31556595) to see if they could help and was denied. We had to pay for the repair which cost me $400. 44. I feel this is a safety issue that should be included in the recall.
Dodge Durango was starting with issues 1 month ago with turning on. When pushing the start button it would make the sound as if trying to turn on but could not turn on completely. After 4 to 5 times of continuous pushing the start button, it would finally turn on, but than at times it would shake and shut off right away. While driving the Durango Sunday, I approached a stop sign, made a complete stop, than pushed the gas to go, but the Durango would move. I pushed the gas several times but nothing happened. I turned the Durango off and it would not turn on anymore. Very unsafe. The mechanic said he believes it is the tipm but will be running more test. I've read several reviews of this same issue. It needs to be addressed.
